I have this robot on my main level. I have 2 dogs and a cat. I bought this after we got our german shepherd because I couldn't keep up with all the hair!! I would have to vacuum every other day if I was going to stay on top of it. This robot saved my sanity!! I set the robot to vacuum every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I usually have to do a good vacuum with my regular upright vacuum every couple weeks because the robot helps me maintain a clean floor, but I thinks its asking too much to expect it to clean up all that hair. Bottom line, I would recommend this robot, absolutely. Spend the money on the clean base. I didn't get it at first, then went ahead and purchased the clean base. Makes my life even easier. It's loud, but it cleans out the robot so much better than dumping it yourself.

My iRobot is powerful and does a thorough job. Even when my dog had an accident, my iRobot powered right through that pile of Poop over and over, trying to break it down and suck it up. It kept right on going over my living room carpet until eventually it made it to my kitchen, where I finally came down stairs that morning to find the fecal Jackson Pollock. After I got over the initial shock and horror, I was thoroughly impressed that in did not break. The design is pretty top notch to keep the sludge of poop out of the mechanics and battery. It was very easy to take apart and clean. It came with replacement rollers, brushes, and filter to make it even easier.

I've had issues from the start and their customer service has been horrible, if you can actually get a hold of them. Spent almost $1,000 with them when we bought a new house. The customer service kid had no answers for me, there was not a manager available, and just hung up. Numerous emails have yielded no phone call. Completely dissatisfied with the products and the joke of their "customer service". I would never buy from them again. Find a company that stands by their products and their name.

I am very happy with the performance of the new 960 vacuum by irobot. Since I started using the 960 my floors are cleaner than they ever were before. Not because this is the most powerful vacuum ever, but because I use it every day. The vacuum is as close to set it and forget it as you are going to come. I set a scheduled time to start in the app and that is all it takes. Previous robot vacuums I have owned could never finish the job without me being around to empty the bin, or would get stuck under the couch every chance it got. With the 960 it goes under the couch with no issue, bin gets full during a cleaning, no problem, back to the charge station to empty itself and then back to work. This robot has also done a great job with pet fur. I have one long-haired dog and one with short hair. The robot picks up the hair with no issue, and the rubber roller sweeper makes it very easy to clean. Set up was very easy as well. Within 10 minutes of opening the boxes, I had the vacuum station set up, the robot charging, and had it work with Google Home. So far the only downside is that the 960 is a bit loud on hard floors. Run it when you're not home, no noise issue.

We bought this a few weeks ago. The battery life is horrible. We set it to vacuum the kitchen, entryway and living room on Tues and Thurs and the master bedroom and bath on Mon and Wed It spends an hour vacuuming our bath and bedroom on the scheduled run but doesn't get finished because it is really slow and the battery runs out. It does return to its station for a recharge but it is brand new. I would think the battery should last longer than one hour. Also, our bath and bedroom are not large enough to warrant it taking that long. I can only imagine the battery life will get even worse with time. In addition, it doesn't pick up my or the (non-shedding) dog's hair. It just makes a hair wad and spits it out for us to pick up later. We will probably return it. For the money it is just not worth it.

First off—it does a decent job of vacuuming. Second off — it’s never finished making it through our home. It keeps getting on any of our rugs and then throws the drop off error. It get hung up on the base either trying to get off of it or getting back on. The rugs we have are short pile and sometimes it works and other times it does. We are taking ours back as it is extremely frustrating moving it to a new location every time it detect a cliff while it’s sitting on a rug.

It does it's job as intended. I have hardwood floors, area rugs, carpeting, tile and vinyl in my house and it was able to clean all areas well. My wife remarked how clean the carpet was. I didn't get that from my other robotic vacuum. The mapping could be better as it missed a small section next to my bed but i have yet to see this unit get stuck (owners need to declutter ahead). Additionally, it may be a little pricey but get the self emptying home base. The biggest dissatisfier for my other robot vacuum was to empty robot several times in cleaning cycle.

The vacuum does not clean in neat rows as advertised. It frequently cleans half of a room moves onto another and does not come back to finish the room. Many areas of my home get missed. Also when it goes back to recharge it does not go back to the area it left off when it's done. It ends up just cleaning the same area again. It constantly gets stuck on the track for my sliding glass doors. I'm talking 12 times per clean stuck. Customer service was no help other than buying the keep away stick after already spending $400 on the vacuum. Make sure you keep the box or you cannot return. I'm stuck with a vacuum that I hate! Please do not waste your money.

For years I have looked at and considered adding a vacuum robot to the ever growing suite of smart devices in my home. It was mainly the cost of these devices, combined with some doubt of the effectiveness, which deterred me. I also felt that my home and use case was complicated and potentially beyond the abilities of a robot vacuum since I have 2 large dogs which shed often, a main floor which consists of tile, hardwood, and carpet (both throw rugs and wall to wall), and a toddler whose toys are always laying around. I feared a robot vacuum would struggle to sufficiently clean 3 to 4 different floor surfaces, would get stuck on or even trapped by toys, or just generally fail to pick up all of the dirt and dog hair which always seems to be on the floor. But after using this little vacuum I was blown away at how well it performed and was able to overcoming each of these (sometimes literal) obstacles. My only regret is that I didn't take the plunge sooner! So many wasted years of manually vacuuming floors thinking I was doing a sufficient job only to now realize that a robot can indeed do it better. And best of all it was so simple to use. I simply plugged it in, went through few basic steps within the iRobot app, and it was off and running. I didn't need to worry about complicated floor plan mapping of my home, defining barriers, or even setting up virtual walls to prevent the little robot from going down stairs inadvertently. Instead the device did all of this on its own. And over the first few days of usage it refined the mapping of my home (which it had self identified) and improved its efficiency and approach to tackling vacuuming tasks. I've truly been impressed in both the capability of this device and how effortlessly clean my floors now are on daily basis.

It does a decent job at cleaning everywhere however it does take a bit of time. In my case each job takes about an hour and a half to complete but at least it does a good job. I do see that in a few times it goes over the same area a few times so if that can get fixed, it would cut down on time. Another thing is that it's a bit loud when cleaning hardwood flooring so running it when you sleep may not be an option. Other than that, the self emptying bin is amazing since it saves trips every time you need to empty the vacuum.
