Wanted to wait until everything was up and running before this review. Cameras have very crisp pictures and videos. Alerts work as intened and the livee view is nearly perfect, (we have dsl so a slight delay). Had a few hiccups on getting it working smoothly. I recommend if you have an older B&C cable system, you run the supplied wires. Ours would not go into night mode and took a few days to realize that was the issue. These cameras require the beefier cables that can deliver more power to the better night vision these offer. Had some issues with it connecting to the app, but the customer service was very helpful. They do most of their corresponding via emails, but can set up a time to talk if needed.

The Defender camera system is a sophisticated security camera system which comes with a highly configurable application to set up and control the behavior of the cameras. The 4K video is excellent and has a viewing coverage that is very good. The motion detection is configurable and the notifications, which may be sent via SMS (text) and or email, are generated very quickly. The only improvement I can suggest is that the motion detection can be less sensitive to shadows of trees blowing in the breeze or insects flying by the cameras. There is a sensitivity adjustment and you can adjust the size of the motion detection area, but these false positives can't be eliminated with the current software.

As the title implies, the Defender Security System hardware is really great. The 4k picture quality can't be beat and the system is relatively easy to setup. However, the limitation on monitoring the system is a deal breaker. Monitoring the system from a cell phone is easily configured, but the image size is really too small to be of any value. The fact that there is NO application available to remotely monitor the system with a PC really stinks. The system can be monitored locally, ie same network segment, using the embedded DVR app but NO remote. Recommendation to Defender---FIX THIS.

Let me start by saying I was very nervous about purchasing this system. I'm NOT computer savoy and neither is my husband! We purchased the 16 camera 4K system to replace an older system we had for our business. Let me say, watching the You Tube videos a bunch of times made the process very easy! The set up was pretty simple, but I suggest watching the video's for me at least it helped tremendously! We just replaced the camera's we had so we had all the wiring in place, so that cut a lot of time off the installation. I would recommend buying this system!

We purchased a new home with an older model of the Defender Camera system. When we upgraded, we found that there were issues with the DVR we received. We contacted Defender and they replaced the DVR with no problems. They were communicative and kept up up to date on the entire process

These cameras are wonderful. I like that each camera does not need its own power adapter. We can put 4 camera lines per power adapter. That’s something we had an issue with when it came to a different company. We ordered the 16-channel unit from Defender and it covers a 5000 square ft area easily. We love the quality of the images and how easy it is to use the system.

I am writing this review without setting up the system yet. I purchase this to send to South America for our business. The price is excellent for this system compared to other systems out there. Shipping was speedy, received it within 2 business days. Will update the review depending on the performance of the system after it is installe.

Great quality with easy to understand startup instruction guide. Everything was in the kit to get the system up and going. This system is self contained where the video data is stored safety on your local high capacity DVR with no monthly fees that never end. The system is highly customizable to fit your unique needs.

I installed Defender CCTV DVR in many place of my friends and families. It’s great results but in video I found one issue like movement vision is not good steady results are good. Example a person or car movement stretched not like Poe or nvr. Only this issue should be solved. Thanking you

I loved the Defender 4K system my wife gave me for Christmas so much in my home, I bought one for our business as well. I am looking at their security systems for our other locations around the US. The quality is amazing and it is controlled by me and not dependent on the cloud, which gives me peace of mind.
