Do not buy defender system

Its a good system. No phone support available when i called. No Defender 4k app to be found on google play or defender web site. You are your own to figure. Defender had very issue with either support. Donot buy defender system.

So Far So Good, Just Bad Customer Support.

So far so good,, The only think I have to say about the customer support is they never answered my email.. I wanted to know if I could have two cell phones on the system. When I went to activate a second phone, it says that a phone is already activated. But sure I did it right and since they won't answer my email, I have no idea.

Upgrade to 4K from Defender 1080HD.

I purchased a 1080HD Defender system in 2014 and was happy with it so I upgraded to the 4K Ultra HD security system. Both are wired systems and I found the change over easy and the 4K cameras are a big improvement in the picture. This is in a private residence which has weathered hurricanes and other storms with no effect on the system even during the storm. Would recommend the system.

GREAT system. I upgraded from the older 1080 I bought about 5 or more years ago. The older cameras were metal where these are plastic. The picture is INCREDIBLE! The night vision on the older cameras was better. Set up was great. Still need to hook to the internet and that will be all. Over all, great system!

Clear pictures on the cameras. You can zoom in to see things further away and it’s still clear. Installation was not bad since we already had an older Defender system and were just upgrading for a more clear picture. The old one lasted 9 years and was still going. The step by step instructions were great and make the setup a breeze. Love it!

Set up and picture quality

It is great picture quality but it takes a lot to set this up correctly. The interface looks like it was made in the 1990’s, but gets the job done with a lot of clicking around. Cameras are light and easy to place. Night vision is super clear as well. I think after I mess around with the settings I’ll feel better about it all. Same goes for the iOS app - lots of clicking around. They are trying to update it currently.

Nice system, great picture and recordings.

I was upgrading my system to 4K and was looking online and saw this deal for the system and 8 cameras. I installed the DVR and it saw my old cameras and seemed to work fine. I am slowly installing the 4K 8MP cameras as I have time. I had purchased another brand PTZ camera and had a problem with the video blanking out. Called Defender support and when I mentioned other then their brand camera they DO NOT SUPPORT anything but their brand no matter the issue. Even though the camera was supplying video to the DVR and the video on the DVR blanked out they didn't want to here it. I think the manual should be more in-depth for those who aren't novices. Other then that support was good and I am happy with it so far.
