camera system
I recently installed a 4k, 5 camera wired system. The video quality was the reason I made this purchase. So far the video is great (except for one camera and defender is working on that). I have two complaints about this system. Camera mounts and apple software. If you are an Apple user you might not a have issue, but to me the apple issue was almost a deal breaker. One The cameras do not have a ball mount, that allows the camera view angle to be changed sideways. It only has up and down angles. I ended up cutting wedges for the base of the camera, in order to get the camera angle I wanted. A bit of a pain, but in my case doable. Just added several hours to the install. A ball type mount would have made the install so much easier. Two (major issue) The Apple software sucks. If you do not have an apple or an android device, don't even try to get remote access to the cameras. Defender will not support a windows based computer system. I found out this the hard way. I had to change the whole installation location because of this issue. Instead of using an easily accessible and secure location, I had to route cables from my attic, through a wall to my computer desk and purchase a video switch with cables, to access the DVR software. The apple software must be downloaded off the on line store. I did so on my wifes two newer apple devises and my older iphone. I my case the software would not install on my iPad, because my iPad, is in apples words "is to too old" and did not have the current operating system. (that is a whole other problem) Installing a remote user is extremely difficult. I have tried several times to add my wifes' iPhone and New iPad. So far at least 8+ hours of labor and No luck on any attempt. Defender help, so far has been fast to respond, but I still can not add a user. I did some how, get my model 5 iPhone to access the system. The software on the phone, eats battery time for lunch. Not great if you can not charge your phone after 30 minutes of use. I like the system on a whole. I am learning the DVR software, even though it is not intuitive.

Please try the following steps in order to share the cameras with your wife: Please have the person you wish to share the cameras with sign up for their own account right on the app. Click more in the bottom right corner. Then please click Manage sharing Settings Tap the plus to Add Recipient Enter the Mobile Phone Number or Email Address of the person you want to share with. Enter Remarks to leave the recipient details about the request. Never send the device password in the remarks section. Tap the Check mark icon to send. The recipient will receive a notification that there is a device to share. Tap Scan QR Code to scan the recipient’s device QR Code. The recipient will receive a notification that there is a device to share. The Recipient can find their QR Code by tapping More > Account Management > My QR Code. The code can be sent to the requester and scanned remotely. Defender 4K, you can’t go wrong
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Defender 4K security system kit is a DIY dream, it includes pretty much everything needed to install it successfully yourself, from mounting the cameras, wiring them, and operating the DVR, not to mention a very detailed (in color) instruction manual so you cannot get it wrong. I love this kit because: The cameras can be adjusted to get the perfect line of sight, they can be mounted indoor or outdoor, and the picture quality is clear 24/7 due to night vision!! The DVR is user friendly, password protected and includes 1TB of storage for playback!! The system includes a free app for mobile use that gives remote access to equipment for monitoring in real-time!! It is easy to expand the level of security with additional defender products if needed.

Great System
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great system that provides high quality picture and recording that helps you secure your home. Initially was contemplating getting help installing the system but after reading the instructions wanted to try myself and was able to install within a couple of hours. There is quite a lot of functionality available especially an app where you can receive notifications , a great system at an affordable price point to secure your home and providing that additional security.

Work perfectly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very impressed with this Defender security camera system. It took me an hour to install but it's totally worth. The angle is wide and the images are very clear, especially at night time. I feel my house is covered securely with 4 cameras which connected to my phone app so that I can watch it anytime I want. Would love to recommend.

Exceptional Home Security System
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been contemplating installing a home security system for several months now, did extensive research and decided the Defender 4K (8MP) Wired Security System is the best system on the market for my needs. I mounted 4 cameras on the outside of my house and ran the cables under the vinyl siding and in through the attic. This process took all day but the cables are hidden and worth the effort. The manual is very clear and precise and the initial setup went smoothly. I'm exceptionally pleased with the high quality color pictures and the night vision feature. I also like the ability to check the house from my phone while I'm away. I definitely recommend the Defender 4K (8MP) Wired Security System!!

Cool tech and great piece of mind
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This security system is really a nice option for great piece of mind and keeping an eye on places you cannot see on your property and in your home. After reading and looking at it, we opted for some outside assistance to be sure we got the most out of it. And the picture quality is great for such a small camera! We can watch our shoreline and boat, the front and rear doors, as well as a few other choice locations around the house and garage. We are very happy with the ease of use and quality of the product.

Great clarity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The daytime picture quality with this system is awesome! There's a decent night view, so far unable to read a license plate at night of someone on our property, I'm hoping we can improve that with a different angle. Setup was ok for someone with experience and installation was very easy. Had some difficulty getting the app setup, but after that it is working great.

Great Picture Quality
I bought this a little over a month ago, we started installing it and we discovered the cables wasn't long enough to reach the other side of the house where our DVR would be setup at. the cables are only 60' and we needed about another 15'. But overall it was easy to install and the quality of the picture is fabulous.

The cameras really work great at night
I was very disappointed that the DVR did not include a remote control. With my physical disability, I very much need a remote. I had to keep using my older model HD1T8 DVR because it has a remote. I installed the eight 4K cameras and I am very pleased with the quality and ease of installation. The night vision is fantastic. I just hope in the future a 4K DVR will be available.

Great Picture Quality Camera - Easy to Insall

The wires are long enough and easy enough install in the desired spots around my multi-level home. I found that installing this system was very easy.
