I was very disappointed that the DVR did not include a remote control. With my physical disability, I very much need a remote. I had to keep using my older model HD1T8 DVR because it has a remote. I installed the eight 4K cameras and I am very pleased with the quality and ease of installation. The night vision is fantastic. I just hope in the future a 4K DVR will be available.

I bought this system as soon as it came back in stock. I have been waiting for Defender to come out with a better upgrade to my current system (a Defender with 600TVL) and didn't want to go with their 2k wireless version. Being impatient as I am, I installed the DVR as soon as I got it without running the new cables or the new cameras, and even then see improvement on every level. Once I had someone get in my attic to run the cables, and installed the new cameras I was extremely impressed with the resolution. I mean come on it's 4k. Even on a 1080p monitor it's ridiculously clear.

We bought this unit to monitor our goat barn. So far we have 6 of the cameras connected; the last two will go to monitor the garage door and our side entry door; It was a task to run the wires so they are concealed but activating the dvr was relatively simple. We were surprised on the clarity and sharpness of the pictures; The night vision is remarkable. After other reviews and some mentioned camera failure, I was concerned when one camera started flickering and went out within the first few hours. I removed the connection and reconnected making sure good contact; Has been fine since; We are very happy with it so far. I can not attest to the dependability since we've had it only one week.

Easy install....love the alerts you can get straight to your phone which comes with a warning text as soon as motion is detected by the cameras. Straightforward directions for set up with mobile phone use. The equipment is very durable and should last us for years to come. It records 24/7, you’ll need to buy a USB flash drive. The pictures are clear on the t.v and the app, which is free on the google app store. You can also pick whether you want to record continuous or motion detection. The wires were easy to hide. I ran them along my baseboard and tacted the down. These cameras pick up all motion. They are very high quality. These really gives me peace of mind. I have a lot of packages delivered, and I do construction so there’s a ton of expensive tools in my garage. I highly recommend this product. I’ve tried other security systems and they don’t even compare.

This is my honest review and my first I’ve ever done. I bought this camera about two months ago and I’m going to say that even though it was my first home security camera system, this will be the last and only company I use from this point on. My family’s safety and my peace of mind is what I think about all the time and this camera system and company has made both a top priority I believe. The 4K is crystal clear, the night vision is outstanding and the look and quality I feel can not be outdone. I’m 34 and even though it’s 2019 I still believe that a man is only as good as his word and take it from me when I say this system is highly recommended. Since this is an honest review I will say only one down side that maybe could be fixed in the long run. Please provide longer camera lines as 60’ isn’t enough a lot of times. If you included 100’ line I feel it would be much better. I bought extensions but every break in the line is another place for moisture or an issue to come about “especially here in miserable hot and humid Florida” versus solid dedicated 100’ lines. Other than that I feel that’s a minor issue and you still deserve ever bit of the 5 star I gave you. Thank you! Josh Florida

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this security system. It was very easy to install. The camera angles are very wide and picture is very clear. Night pictures are also very good. The app for my phone is easy to use so I can check cameras at any time.

I purchased a Defender 4 camera wireless system a year ago to use in a home that I could not run cable throughout. The system was very easy to install, worked very well, wireless runs up to 80ft including several walls were not a problem. So I decided to purchase this HD wired system for another home install. This home had another surveillance BNC cabled system that was low definition and finally a few cameras failed. It was easy to install this system since the camera cables were already there. As usual the software set was just as easy. Now the pictures are significantly improved with the 4K cameras and HD. The mobile app is easy to install and use. Also I am able to view the two different sites on the same app. The footprint for the DVR is also smaller than the previous low definition unit so it saves some space. My only complaint is the offsite video is only available to the smart phones and not laptops. Defender needs to address this issue since access on a laptop or PC with larger screen is a definite bonus. I would buy another one if I needed it!

I needed to update my security cameras from an old defender system. It was about 6 years old and still worked fine. I wanted better resolution. The picture on this system is excellent. Installation was easy. Software set up was not as simple as my old system but the app is good. Added my wife's phone and we are up and running. Night vision is great. Have had foxes and raccoons caught wandering through my yard. Neighbors had cars broken into and I was able to provide the police with stills and video of the person trying my car doors. Luckily we had ours locked.
