My husband and I purchased defender's 16 channel camera system in December of 2022. Our system came when they said it would with everything meticulously packaged. My husband was able to install everything with ease by using the specifically detailed startup guide. We were given an update to install and we did have a little trouble installing it but, after emailing Defender, they were quick to get back to us and walk us through it with no problems. We like being able to view our cameras on our cell phones with the Defender Empower app. We think the quality of footage is very sharp and clear. We occasionally got a false alarm on our phones but I'm pretty sure that's because we are still learning about the system and probably need to adjust the sensitivity. If you go to settings in the DVR, you can customize your system to your specific wants. I am confident that we will be using this security system for years to come! We feel the price is spot on. We would definitely recommend this to family and friends!

Bought these cameras a month ago because I was tired of dealing with problems with my Lorex cameras. Lorex has terrible customer service and questionable quality with their products. Anyway, setup with these cameras was easy. Had a couple of problems with the remote viewing on the app, but they were fixed with minimal effort. The video clarity from these cameras is tremendous. My Lorex wireless cameras are 2MP, and these cameras blow them out of the water. I needed to be able to read car license plates from a gate camera about 30 feet away, these cameras can handle that task easily. Quality cameras, great value security system.

So we decided to try out the Defender 4K (8MP) Wired Security System with 4 Cameras. We were a little nervous about installing these ourselves but it was actually very straightforward. We did watch a couple videos online to assist. We are very pleased with the quality of all of the equipment and happy how easy it was to set up. The picture quality is amazing, clear and up close looking. We are very happy with all of the features and are actually having a lot of fun testing everything out. The price for the quality you get is great. I definitely recommend this product.

I purchased a First set of the 4 k cameras and DVR system a week ago, it arrived and I was so blown away by the cameras and all the features of DVR and the app, that I immediately ordered a second set , I also recommended to my neighbor 3 doors down and she ordered a set the same next day, I installed mine and hers today and all’s I can say is wow over and over , I couldn’t be more pleased with how hers and mine turned out , I love how ya can see all in the app, even thought it’s two separate dvrs, I have one set hooked up with the most important cams showing on a monitor and the second set just to view in the app, the notifications are the best feature of this system , although the entire system is incredible, as I’ve said in my first review the cameras picture quality is awesome, and the field of view is way wider that my previous cameras, along with the dvr options and the apps options you can’t go wrong with DEFENDER SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEMS, they have always stood behind there products with me, that’s all I got to say in my honest strait forward review about my recent purchase ...

With the drop ceilings it made running the wires much easier than I originally thought I would be. Everything was very simple to set up with the wires being color coded and a very good length. The hardest part was figuring out where to put the cameras for the best coverage and where to then put the DVR. The app is also a really nice touch. Being able to see what is going on at any point where ever as long as you have an internet signal. Plus the picture quality is amazing. I’ve seen other systems with very poor quality video that you wouldn’t be able to tell who was on the screen. Not with this system. Thank you Defender!

I bought this system a month ago and install was fast and easy. I am impressed with the quality of the system for the price. The only thing I'm not happy with is the warranty fine print that states return shipping is the customer's responsibility even when the product is under warranty.

The Defender 4k was so easy to set up and I have to say so much clearer than the other systems I currently have. I love the added features this has such as plate recognition and face recognition. It also has times when someone entered, which is an added benefit. This is a great system and so easy to set up, so if you have been concerned about installing a complicated system trust me from experience this is completely user friendly!

This has been up and running for around a month. It is outperforming our last system by a mile. The pictures are great, the night vision is really quite good. If there had been at least a basic manual I would have given 5 stars. I keep finding new features accidentally. Unfortunately I dont have a lot of extra time to explore all the features.

I had a defender before but it died, I looked at the other products but didn't like the reviews so I decided to buy the 4K defender, It does work with my old cameras, I will install the 4k cameras once the snow is gone. Only issue I have to getting the camera's to display on my PC, will call support for assistance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Defender 4K is a fully wired security system, which includes the cameras. You would think that would be difficult, but the cables included are VERY long, and allowed for placement throughout my home without them tripping people up. I did have to get guards for a couple of spots. The manual part of the setup was the major part of the process...the interface took only minutes to set up and connect, and the app was even faster. There's even a mouse included. You do need a flash drive to save your password information, but even that is just a few clicks. The clarity of the images is amazing. I was impressed with the ability to stay clear even with objects in motion. There are two recording options, continuous or motion detected. Continuous is, well, continuous, and works well. The motion detected setting was very well calibrated...it didn't just set off at every little motion, like my ceiling fan. You know it's recording because an icon appears on the image onscreen. The app is very simple, but gives you what you need: realtime access to the cameras when away. This will ease my mind considerably when I'm away, letting me check in on my family and pets. It works well even a fairly long distance away. This is a nice system for those who want a quality item that doesn't require a tech degree to set up. I recommend it highly.
