[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There have been many break-ins around our are lately so we decided we needed to be prepared! I work from home and my elderly mom in law lives with us and so many of the break ins have been during the day. With 8 camera's we had the ability to have them inside and out! Eye's every where! After much thought we decided to set up 2 cameras in the house-facing the front and back doors and the other 6 around the perimeter of our house. Installation was pretty easy for my husband who is used to running coax cable! The feed is so clear! Here's to hoping we never "need" the recordings, but we sleep much better now knowing we have it!

The set up seems overwhelming at first because it is wired but it really was not difficult at all to set up. The DVD player is slim and small and takes up no room at all wherever you put it. The picture quality of the cameras is fantastic! I am so impressed. I love that I can now monitor my home, inside and outside when I’m not there. It really puts my mind at ease. They give you plenty of wire to make it easy to connect your whole house. I would highly recommend this system!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The system has a good picture. I wish there was an audio option. It would be easier if the cables were longer too. Took a bit to get it set up but in the end I am happy with the way it all works. It’s much better than my previous set up.

This is our second camera system for our home. Our first system was a different brand and it failed miserably. So far Defender is doing its job well. We've had it one month so this review is premature in my opinion, at least six months is better, but to get a free extended warranty the review has to be done within three months of purchase. There were a few glitches during installation since it was set up differently from our other system but we managed to figure it out. Could have been an oversight on our part, but we didn't see any mention of the flash drive requirement until we started setup. As inexpensive as they are one should have been included, or at least the need noted, so no one has to stop with the setup process to run out and buy a flash drive. Everything else needed was included. The phone app is much better than the previous system. We are very happy with Defender so far.

Our HOA bought this system for the monitoring of the pool, parking lot and surrounding area....IT IS GREAT! Each board member can use their phone to see what the cameras are capturing...it met our needs perfectly. We no longer wonder what is going on at the pool...we just pull it up on our iPhone. It was simple to install and very easy to set up and use. We recommend it for anyone. BTW, I have one for my home as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The camera system is great it is Crystal clear and it's 4k. It is easy to set up. It comes with everything you need. You can make your house secured. You have enough cameras. You can use your smartphone to watch the recorded videos.

System and cameras were very easy and intuitive to set up, mobile app pairing was a breeze. Would have liked to see a pan feature on the cameras and some more guidance around setting up the verification code. Advice on setting up the video recording would also help (which frame rate to choose, etc. and the implications of selecting one setting vs. another). Overall very happy!

There's a decent night view, so far unable to read a license plate at night of someone on our property, I'm hoping we can improve that with a different angle. Setup was ok for someone with experience and installation was very easy. Had some difficulty getting the app setup, but after that it is working great.

I bought this in early July and finished the set up mid July for my business. We finished in 3 days. It took long because of the numerous old wires above the ceiling. Also remember that the ends of the wires are different so don’t put them the wrong way or it’s a lot of work. Also, I was initially worried that I had to put 4 cameras 6 feet apart from each other As it said in one of the reviews, but when I received the package, I found out that the wire was 60 feet long. Overall, don’t be worried about the length of the wire. Setting it up on my monitor and TV was easy. I had to buy a HDMI splitter though so I put it on both my monitor in my back office and TV near my view at all times. Also, I learned that you should get an active HDMI Cable if you need a long (30 ft+) HDMI cable. Also, for this specific model, you are not able to add audio even though there is a port on the DVR for audio. Also, would recommend using a power strip or battery back up to put all your plugs in one spot. You can do an immediate 5 minute play back on 1 camera. I wish you could do play back on all of them at the same time. Resolution is great and can also zoom in. I wish there was a desktop app for this. The app on the App Store for iPhones and iPads is decent. The resolution is not the best on the app. I have the highest speed internet from my provider. The playback on the app is also very slow. The company should work on making the app better and also developing a desktop app for Windows and Mac. Otherwise, much better than my old analog cameras.

I got this security system, installed it myself, and now my home feels much more secure. The images are very clear on my computer screen and the 4 cameras cover most entries to my home. It's great to have considering I can watch my mailbox because of theives in the area. The system wasn't too difficult to set up if you have some basic knowledge of technology. The camers were a little difficult but I figured it out. All in all great addition to my home.
