[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Defender 4K security system kit is a DIY dream, it includes pretty much everything needed to install it successfully yourself, from mounting the cameras, wiring them, and operating the DVR, not to mention a very detailed (in color) instruction manual so you cannot get it wrong. I love this kit because: The cameras can be adjusted to get the perfect line of sight, they can be mounted indoor or outdoor, and the picture quality is clear 24/7 due to night vision!! The DVR is user friendly, password protected and includes 1TB of storage for playback!! The system includes a free app for mobile use that gives remote access to equipment for monitoring in real-time!! It is easy to expand the level of security with additional defender products if needed.

I bought this system as soon as it came back in stock. I have been waiting for Defender to come out with a better upgrade to my current system (a Defender with 600TVL) and didn't want to go with their 2k wireless version. Being impatient as I am, I installed the DVR as soon as I got it without running the new cables or the new cameras, and even then see improvement on every level. Once I had someone get in my attic to run the cables, and installed the new cameras I was extremely impressed with the resolution. I mean come on it's 4k. Even on a 1080p monitor it's ridiculously clear.

I bought this at Sam's Club when it was on sale. I upgraded from a 16 camera 720p system to the Defender 4K system with 16 cameras. I was able to swap the existing cameras using existing cable with no problems. I had to replace the old camera power supplies with the Defender provided power supplies to eliminate hum bars in the video. The improvement in video quality is really nice. It took a while to get all the settings configured to get the best quality recorded and downloadable to my PC. I wish the cameras could be viewed on a PC with something other than Internet Explorer. It would be nice to be able to save the camera live view configuration in the browser without having to start over every time I start the browser.

Purchased this a month ago. The sales staff were very helpful, and the system has lots of great features - that work. We were drawn here by a recommendation from a colleague, after we read a large number of poor reviews on more commonly used "cheaper" video monitoring systems. So far we are very happy with our choice to go with Defender.

This is my third system from Defender. I have always been happy with their products. Picture quality is much improved with this 4K system. Set up was a breeze and only took a few minutes to link to my phone. I wish I could remote view from a PC like the older systems. I have not been able to find a way to make that happen, but it does view easily on my phone. There are just times it would be nice to see on a larger screen when I am away from home.

just installed 2 days ago to replace existing defender wireless system. picture quality is excellent. install wasnt too bad. just make sure when you pull the cable for the camera that you pull the right end to where your dvr is otherwise you will end up having to re-run a wire like we did. all in all a really great system. only downside I have found is that the field of view is narrower than our wireless systems was. not really a drawback but gives us less coverage of some areas.

It also comes with everything needed to get it installed and running, aside from tools of course. The overall picture is great day or night, and I love that it is wide view so you just need one camera to see more. Connecting the app was also simple with the walk through instructions. This is definitely a high quality, well made security system. I would definitely recommend it. I love knowing my family and house is secure and can be easily monitored.

I bought this just over a month ago and love it. We've had a few burglaries in our neighborhood and wanted cameras to cover our house and 2 acre yard. The setup was so easy and the range is excellent. The 4k quality surpasses anything my neighbors have. We have a crystal clear view of our property. This is our first system and, so far, we are very pleased with the Defender 4K.

I bought the 4K system with 8 cameras. This was to replace an older Defender system I bought about 3 years ago. These cameras are far superior to the older ones. I put the cameras in the same spots all around my house and I am amazed at how much better and farther I can see both in daylight and darkness.

The 4k cameras are amazing at night or day. I can read the street sign at the end of my block, I can zoom in and see license plates numbers. I mounted a camera on my back wall on the 3rd floor of my house and I could clearly see the Picture of my son on my home screen Of my iPhone. Enough said
