System and cameras were very easy and intuitive to set up, mobile app pairing was a breeze. Would have liked to see a pan feature on the cameras and some more guidance around setting up the verification code. Advice on setting up the video recording would also help (which frame rate to choose, etc. and the implications of selecting one setting vs. another). Overall very happy!

Installing was pretty simple and straightforward - the cameras are lightweight & weather resistant. The resolution is AWESOME, very clear - not glitchy, the night feature is the BEST! These cameras can be hooked up to your phone via Defender's free app which provides added security when you are away from home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Defender Wired 4k wired security system for just over two weeks. I got the system and it was very well packed. It was organized and contained a lot of parts! It was a little intimidating for me to at first. I wanted a hard wired system because I was hoping for consistant quality. I still have to tidy up the wiring. The directions seemed too technical so I followed them slowly, step by step. Set up was mostly smooth for my first time installing something like this. I looked up a few details on the internet to make sure I was setting the DVR up correctly. After I had the whole thing set up, I was impressed with the quality of the pictures and the wide angles. Even at night, I could see pretty well. I'm still tinkering with some of the settings but I like all the different views. The only thing that could make that better would be if you could pan around but really with so many cameras set up, it's not neccesary. It's a powerful system for my home. It would also be great for use at a small business. I am able to have every single dark corner, gate and door under surveillance. I'm learning the app and am so glad to have this feature without paying a monthy service fee.

Purchased this a month ago. The sales staff were very helpful, and the system has lots of great features - that work. We were drawn here by a recommendation from a colleague, after we read a large number of poor reviews on more commonly used "cheaper" video monitoring systems. So far we are very happy with our choice to go with Defender.

I did a lot of research on what camera system to purchase. Saw this had wonderful reviews and after buying it I can see why. The price can not be beat for what you get. Picture is crystal clear day or night. It was so easy to install and the system setup is really easy if you follow the guide. Would buy from defender again.

It records 24/7, you’ll need to buy a USB flash drive. The pictures are clear on the t.v and the app, which is free on the google app store. You can also pick whether you want to record continuous or motion detection. The wires were easy to hide. I ran them along my baseboard and tacted the down. These cameras pick up all motion. They are very high quality. These really gives me peace of mind. I have a lot of packages delivered, and I do construction so there’s a ton of expensive tools in my garage. I highly recommend this product. I’ve tried other security systems and they don’t even compare.

I just finished my install this last weekend. At first I thought how would I ever use 16 cameras but as I was designing the coverage areas I was glad I had 16! The picture quality is amazing. I would recommend that before you install the cameras that you temporarily attach at least one and move it around live to different locations so you can see exactaly what the coverage will be like and where the best placement would be. My only thing left to figure out is if I can use a 720p monitor instead of a 4K.

Bought these cameras a month ago because I was tired of dealing with problems with my Lorex cameras. Lorex has terrible customer service and questionable quality with their products. Anyway, setup with these cameras was easy. Had a couple of problems with the remote viewing on the app, but they were fixed with minimal effort. The video clarity from these cameras is tremendous. My Lorex wireless cameras are 2MP, and these cameras blow them out of the water. I needed to be able to read car license plates from a gate camera about 30 feet away, these cameras can handle that task easily. Quality cameras, great value security system.

I have been with defender for a long time now ( 5 years or so) and when lightning took out my DVR I did not hesitate to come back to Defender for a new system. As normal, they delivered my system very quickly. The packaging is very well done. Everything was in the box and so easy to set up. I didn't think it possible, but this new system outshines my last one. Being able to adjust setting for each camera is a plus i didn't expect. And the zoom maintains the same great quality, not losing any clarity. Overall, I am very pleased with my system and the customer service I have been getting to help me through this process of replacing my old system. Right from the start, they have been so helpful in diagnosing my old system, answering all my questions on what would be best for my situation. I would HIGHLY recommend Defender for all your security needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started out with a basic camera on the house and it helped track things and made us feel a bit more secure, but it wasn't full coverage. We feel more secure with this set up. It covers all the angles we need and the resolution and quality of the cameras make a difference. We have known multiple people who were robbed and caught the thieves on camera with security cams, but could never do anything about it because the detail in the image was just too low for the cops to work with. Hopefully this great looking camera system scares them away, and if it doesnt we can catch a usable image of their face to bring them to justice and keep the neighborhood safe.
