Because they have a stretchy fit, it may be possible to use a smaller size. The absorbent area of the panties seem adequate to handle most "accidents".

I get in deep sleeps and they are helpful in case of accidents. They fit great and like regular underwear. I wear a size 12/14 and they fit perfect. They're solid and no ripping and have room to bend and stretch. I like the neutral color of them, they're almost a blushing pink, so they're feminine.
