Good for kids

The installation took me about 1 hour just to put the backboard together. Overall this hoop is good for the price. The height adjuster sometimes does not "stick" so you have to smack it sometimes to lock in place. It is a bit more wobbely than expected. But for my 12, 8, and 6 yr old i just wanted something adjustable for them. Good deal for price, but the wobbleness gets on my nerves.

Difficult to assemble

My boys love the basketball goal but I wish I would’ve realized it wasn’t a glass backboard. It’s made of a plastic material which makes the ball not bounce back/rebound vey well. It was also difficult for my husband to put together (who is actually very handy). For the price though, it’s a great value!

For the price its a good basketball system.

A good value for the money. I also went with the inground sleeve to set the pole in, that way I can readjust the goal if it gets off center in a storm, or take it with me if I ever move. I can also use it to replace the pole if it ever wares out. I wouldn't suggest dunking and hanging on rim, but it is sturdy.

Great value, appears durable, so so directions

You get a good system for the investment, nothing missing, nothing defective from the factory. Directions were so so at best. Use some common sense and you can overcome the weak directions. Don't forget to buy a piece or two of 4 foot rebar from your local hardware store when you pick up the concrete as you will need it.

Very nice system

This is a really nice system at a great price. It was very easy to set up and the adjustable height mechanism is nicely designed so that it is virtually effortless to change the height. The backboard is nice and solid. I'm really happy with this product and look forward to many years of hoops with my kids!

Better Than I Expected

I relied heavily on the reviews when I was shopping, so I thought I must return the favor for future shoppers. This BB system is better than I expected. You get what you pay for so I figured it would be safe to pick something in the middle. The reviews I read were fair, and I figured if something went wrong I could go to Wal-Mart and complain directly. Everything went together well. The instructions weren't the best in the world but my son and I figured it out. We followed the instructions to a "T." The only complaint I have, the pole has some movement when the ball hits the backboard. Again, kind of goes with the territory. Nothing is perfect. The adjustable height goes up and down smoothly. I was actually impressed with that. Overall, my son and I will definitely get our use out of it. Looks good in our driveway. Isn't an eyesore, which my wife was scared of. Bare in mind, when you put the poles together at the end, you will need at least 3 strong adults.

Pretty good basketball hoop...for being used...

The system showed up on our door step in a complete mess. Don't know who delivered it either. I guess that's what you get for free delivery. The box was held together with binding straps. It was a miracle that nothing was missing. The box looked like it had fell into the ocean off a transport plane. While going over the directions it was obvious that someone had bought this, half way put it together, than returned it. Luckily everything was still there. Very easy to put together. Just make sure you get enough cement. When they say nine bags, they mean it.

Just installed, looks great

The instructions are sometimes challenging to follow. The most difficult part to complete was getting the lower portion of the pole set correctly in the concrete. It has a tendency to move slightly until the concrete is set so you have to check it regularly. There are a couple of steps that require the use of self tapping screws. Would have been better if the instructions had suggested predrilling a pilot hole to help get the screw started.

Mediocre product

The assembly was pretty straightforward and clear. The plexiglas backboard is attached to the metal frame just by some kind of adhesive however that was already coming apart requiring me to add screws to screw the backboard to the metal frame along the edges. We will see how this stands up to wind. When playing, the backboard twists and bounces around more than normal. It is not very stout. This not a terribly impressive product.

50 inch inground basketball system

I thought the instructions could have been better! It took me and my son around 2 1/2 hours to assemble this backboard and pole! The base pole instructions were very simple and straight forward! My Grand Kids love this system! I have purchased other Lifetime products in the past and they really stand by their products!
