I started using this about a month ago. With 5 indoor cats, the litter box is a FULL TIME Job!! I used to use Tidy cat, Arm and Hammer clump and seal and Scoop Away. Sometimes I would even mix them in every attempt at odor control so I wasn't always having to scoop the litter box out 2-3 times a day. I have so many better things to do with my time. Even after scooping out the litter box, I would still have a less desirable odor hanging around in the house. Then last month I saw the Febreeze label on Fresh Step Cat litter. I decided to pick it up and give it a try. HOLY MOLY! I now only have to scoop my litter box out every 2-3 days. It literally clumps the odor in. The other nice thing is the clumps remain separate from the good litter. When you scoop out the litter box, the litter that remains is good as new as if you had just poured a new box in. I will NEVER use another cat litter again. I literally stand in the pet isle of the store and when other customers come and stare at the litters (like I used to do) in attempts to figure out what they will purchase this week, I tell them, hands down, there is no debate. The price is the same or even more inexpensive especially now that I don't have to purchase all of the powders, deoderant cubes or even the Febreeze plugins in attempts to mask odor. My 5 furbabies are much happier, most of all. Thank you for this amazing product!!!

My cat's like this litter and they aren't allergic to it. It clumps excellent and controls odor. I have 3 cats and scoop it out every morning, also I add more litter as needed and change the entire box usually about every 6 months. Most people that come to visit have no idea I have cats and are shocked when they learn I have 3.

I can honestly say that it worked well in my home. It controlled odor, and clumped nicely, so the litter box was easy to clean. The kitties didn't mind the scent of the litter (it's not overpowering). The tracking of litter out of the box appeared to be about equal with what I have experienced with other brands. One note, this litter is a bit costly, so watch for sales.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used Mutli-Cat for a long time. But, now since they have the febreeze extreme, that's all we use for our 3 cats. Our cats love it, and we love it because its always fresh smelling and easy clean up!

I have three male cats and they can really lay down some giant smashers in the litter box. However, since I switched to Fresh Step Extreme a few months ago I can definitely tell a difference in the laundry room air quality (where I keep the boxes). My cats can try to desecrate those boxes for weeks without a lingering stench (Except for one cat who doesn't know how to bury his turds but that isn't the litter's fault). We're a much happier household. Saves money too since I don't need to replace the litter as frequently.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We always use fresh step clumping litter no matter what. When I noticed this new sku on the shelves, I was excited to give it a whirl. Not only did it absorb and clump beautifully, but there was no discernible odor. Usually, towards the end of the week things get a little 'unfresh', but I almost forgot it was trash day because of this litter. We'll definitely buy this again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Febreze has a nice scent but I think most cats prefer unscented litter especially the ones with allergy issues. Once the cat steps out of the litter box, the Febreze is all over the house-sofa, bed, chair, carpet etc. Unless you don't mind the scent otherwise it is quite overwhelming.

I tried this Fresh Step Extreme last month and felt it did have less dust than the Fresh Step "multi-cat" or "order shield." It does smell nicer as long as it is covered up with litter. Not sure yet if the clumping is any different than other clumping Fresh Step versions. However clumps do not fall apart easily. My cat is tracking after her use but since she is not covering properly and steps in freshly wet litter, I can't conclude the litter does not track.

I have always bought Fresh Step but did not realize how good it worked until we had a situation a few years ago where we were on a very tight budget. I bought some generic litter thinking it would be fine. The odor was unbearable with 3 cats! I immediately switched back to Fresh Step and we are back to a fresh smelling house. And we have one very stinky cat who refuses to cover up. Fresh step is activated just by him walking into the box. Very few odors.
