I tried it on its own and it clumps really well, but I guess I was just a little disappointed in the ability of it to block odors. It does last a really long time and it’s a pretty good value for the price. I wish it smelled better.

With two cats using the box daily, I need something that can truly handle odor and mess, and this litter never disappoints. The clumping is strong and immediate, which makes scooping quick and easy without everything crumbling apart. Odor control is excellent—it keeps my home smelling clean even between full litter changes. There’s minimal dust and only a little tracking, which is totally manageable compared to how well it performs overall. I’ve tried enough litters in the past to know what works, and this is the one I consistently trust to keep both my cats and my home happy.

This litter clumps well and doesn’t spill or shed while moving the scooper. This box is heavy but the litter comes out light and well sized its not stuck in the cats paws.

It doesn't have the unpleasant dust common in most cat litters, which can be harmful to our lungs. When filling the box and scooping, I no longer need a mask to avoid breathing in the dust - that's a thing of the past. It also doesn't have a strong, unpleasant fragrance. Most importantly, its clumping effectiveness is fantastic. From now on, this is the litter for my beautiful Akila - she loves it as much as I do!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fresh step has always been my go to brand for my cats litter boxes.. Easy to scoop, no mess because it clumps like its supposed to.. So around the boxes is always clean.. 3 cats you need to be using the right stuff. Appearance is priority.

I like using a hard-clumping litter that absorbs well, is easy to scoop, doesn’t track too much, and isn’t dusty or strongly scented. This Fresh Step Extreme Clump litter is excellent and checks almost all those boxes. Really the only things I would have preferred in this litter is for it to be unscented (I don’t typically use scented litter for my cats), and not to easily track outside of the box. That’s just a wish, not a dealbreaker. All in all, an excellent product that my cats accepted immediately and that works well under multi-cat frequent usage!
