Changed product material

I have purchased this in past (years) & had great results. Purchased in Fall 2023 & used for same projects (as previously used) & the material is breaking apart after few months of using. This material is cheaply made & designated. Unfortunately I will have to pull up material (raised garden bed) & rebuild again in the near future.

Not What I Used To Be

I have been using this product for years but never again. For the past two seasons it has started falling apart half way through the summer. I used to use it on pathways and it would last a couple of years but no more. Once it starts to fall apart it becomes very difficult to get it up and out of the way. I will never buy this product again.

Very disappointed.

We have been buying landscape fabric from Sam’s for about 15 years, it was one of the best on the market. We liked it, until the last 2 years. In the past, we would get a whole season, sometimes 2 years out of the heavy weight fabric. The last few seasons, Sam’s switched a light weight and we don’t even get 1 whole season. Tears easily, wind damage, weeds grow through. Very disappointed.

This product is no longer "contractor grade."

No longer a contractor grade product. They changed it. I have bought this exact product before and was thrilled with it but they changed the manufacturer, clearly. The old one was heavy duty and did not rip. Landscape pins would not rip through. You could walk on it for a whole season, pull it up at the end of the season, and save it for the next year. NO LONGER THE CASE!!! The new version sold as the same product you can tear with your hands... unlike the old version. The new version is stretchy and twigs poke through. The new version will rip and pull of the landscape pins (I use different ones than the ones supplied because those are not good quality). The former version was so much superior and WAS contractor grade. The version they have this year is NOT THE SAME PRODUCT even though it is labeled the same. I want the manufacturer information for their old supplier so I can get the good stuff that used to be sold as this product. This is NOT contractor grade. You cannot walk on it when you put it between rows of plants without it ripping. You cannot take it up and reuse it year after year. I wanted to upload a video showing the difference between the old version and the new, both sold as the same product. How you can rip right through the new version easily and not the old one, but there is no way to upload a video. A picture would not show it at all... me trying to tear the old version and then how easy it is to tear the current version of this product. They got cheap and need to go back to the former manufacturer of this exact product. Or tell us who makes it so we can go by the product they used to sell under this name. That is the product that I want to buy, and they used to sell it, but they got cheap and now sell a cheap product as "contractor grade landscape fabric." It is NOT anymore. It used to be. Now it is just the same cheap landscape fabric you can get anywhere that rips and pulls apart and leaves shredded pieces in your garden!!!

Disintegrated quickly, terrible product

In previous years I have purchased and used weed block from Sam's and it worked well. This weed block, however, started disintegrating very quickly and within a few months was in quite terrible shape. The sun pretty much broke it apart is my best estimate of what happened to it. It wasn't from heavy traffic or anything dragging on it to tear it. I do not recommend this product. Would give it 0 stars. Money and work/time invested putting it down was totally wasted.

Landscape Fabric Wastes Time and Money

Landscape fabric disintegrates. It used to be stronger. Now it is made of that shopping bag non woven type fabric that shreds and the weeds are growing right through it. It is difficult to pry up the metal pins to replace the only pieces left of it. Do not buy this.

Verified Purchase

Weed barrier fabric

Weeds were sprouting up amongst the lava rocks in my yard and I laid this fabric down to combat the weeds. It is very sturdy, well made and it is a big enough roll that I was able to do the whole trim around my yard. I like that is comes in a big roll instead of having to purchase several rolls. Now, no weeds!

Not at all impressed.

I would not recommend this product. The product easily tears and is very thin. After about six weeks, grass and multiple weeds are growing through the ground fabric that I double layered and covered with river rock. Prior to laying the ground fabric I properly prepared the ground by removing digging out all of the grass and weeds. Very frustrating when you put a lot of work into a large landscape project and you unwittingly use a product that is garbage. Sam's Club should review whether or not this product meets their quality standards.

weeds came through within 2 weeks

I did my front landscape with this fabric and put medium blue stone in, this is not acceptable. I had done this at my previous home with another brand and after almost 12 years the only weeds that grew were on the surface in the leaf debris that breaks down and basically becomes a layer of dirt on the fabric. . I will not buy this item ever again and hopefully I can get refund since I will be redoing my landscape with better fabric in the future ..

I have used this fibric for many years and had very good luck with it. As some reviews stated that it broke down quickly ( based on photos) it wasn't covered with anything...it must be covered with something- stones woodchips, mulch or the UV will break it down. Also some complaints of weeds growing through it - to help prevent this I use a layer or 2 of cardboard. Yes, I suppose as some have mentioned the use of herbicides, could be used, but I wouldn't use such things in or around my garden. Hope this helps someone.
