Returning
We have given it a try, but we will return it. The apps do not work properly, videos keep freezing. We have checked for updates and done everything possible to make this work. Not very impressed with image quality, the smaller Toshiba that we had for a while works better than this one. Not worth keeping.

Mounting bolts need to be longer than indicated
the set is nice. but the manual will indicat that the versa mount screws should be 20/22mm. this is not correct, and others have commented the same. when you add in the depth of the mounting plate you are using, the screws/bolts will need to be m8 25mm; otherwise, there will be no bite of the threads-guaranteed. i had called samsung tech support about this, and the agent truly had no clue. secondly, if you want to just set up your tv to start watching your cable and streaming services-not so fast....the initial set up is going to force you through a bewildering labyrinth of required steps, to compel you to set up a samsung account-which you may not want.,
Hi TraldAlex, Thank you for your purchase and review of the AU8000 TV. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any confusion. Please know that the 20-22mm listed in the user manual is not the screw length. It’s the wall mount thread depth in the TV chassis. Make sure to add the wall mount bracket thickness to the thread depth for minimum screw length. If you are unable to find the correct screws, you could use washers (supplied with the wall mount) to adjust the length. Should you ever have questions or need help, Samsung is here for you! Just give us a call at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website. ~ Samsung Advisor
Poor Picture
The picture quality on this TU7000 is not near the same quality as the 10 year old Samsung it replaced. After adjusting the brightness to max the brightness level is poor. The picture is not as clear as the the 10 year old tv it replaced. Very disappointed with the TU7000.
gkcc, I am very sorry to see that you were not happy with the picture quality of your TU7000 Crystal UHD TV. Please know that the TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer the signal is to 4K, the better it will look coming out. In addition, the quality of the image on your screen depends on the source and the connection. HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing; and when possible, 4K content will provide the best picture quality. Beautiful Picture, Terrible Interface
i got this tv to replace a 10 year old television that stopped working. it seems liked a great option, and it has really good reviews. i understand with any newer tv model there's a learning curve to adjust to menu layouts and quirky brand features. however, the awkwardness and confusing design of the app menu layout; the incredibly slow, lagged and often over compensated menu scroll speed; and "smart" features like the one to reopen the last app didn't work. i gave this tv over 15 days to convince me it was for me, but i eventually decided that i couldn't handle the laggy menu and traded it in for a different brand of tv.
MatS: Thank you for sharing your review of the Samsung TU7000 TV. I am very sorry that you were not completely happy with interface, experienced some lag, and have decided to return it. Disappointing
picture is good. software/interface is a huge disappointment. i was hoping to not have to use a box of any kind but will have to go back to apple tv. the smart hub is so bad that when you turn the tv on it will only default to their smasung channels which blasts some nonesene game shows or bad tv. i use youtube tv for programmining and have to go in and load each time which is slow. app tiles are small and hard to distinguish which app is highlighted. i have a tcl with roku tv that was cheaper, runs faster, has a much better interface with infinately more configuration, etc. really expected more from samsung. i just picture a group of design people sitting around a presentation of this “smart hub” interface and being impressed enough to approve it....wow.

Disappointed
I bought this TV this week. The picture was great for 2 days. Turned the TV on this morning and every channel has green imaging. It is only clear now when still pictures are on the screen . . . Will be in touch with the store where I purchased it as I have only had it a few days now.

All I will buy from now on are Samsung TV s
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tv becasue I heard you could side load andriod and being PC and Galaxy phone guy this was appealing. I had no idea how much more this tv could do and the features WOW. I use my pc for everything and keep very current with software, hardware and OS and lost interest in TVs years back. If you've never Samsung's HUB then you are in for a treat. Well Done Samsung!
Pretty much the worst tv experience
the good- the bad- darkest picture ever. cant adjust it enough to see people when its a low light setting audio- doesnt stay connected to bluetooth soundbar from same brand picture- randomly has blue light/tint that covers the whole tv. cant read or see anything until it randomly goes away lag- lags like an early 2000's computer with viruses. click any button on the remote and wait 5 seconds or until it spazzes out and goes into a random app or some animal documentary
Bloop: I am very sorry you have experienced multiple issues with your TU7000 TV. I understand your frustration and disappointment. There are several troubleshooting steps you can take to improve your experience. 1) Please be sure to download and install the latest firmware which improves Bluetooth connection and addresses the color glitch issue. Using your TV's remote, navigate to Settings, and select Support. Select Software Update, and then select Update Now. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically. If there aren't any new updates, select OK to exit. You may want to enable automatic updates for conveniences. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update. If you would like to update your software using USB, please check for the latest version on the Samsung website Please be sure to reset the TV after it has been updated by either unplugging the AC for 20 seconds (or) pressing and holding the power butting until the TV turns off then back on. 2) To address your lag issue, you may want to run the self-diagnosis tool. This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps. Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care 3) Samsung is aware of the issue of scenes appearing too dark, and a new firmware update will be released soon to address this issue. Please follow the steps in (1) to keep your firmware current. I hope these tips help. For further assistance, please contact Samsung TV Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (available 8AM -12AM EST, 7 days a week) Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the SUPPORT link in the upper right corner for: 1) Contact Us Options (LiveChat, Remote Support, Facebook, Twitter) 2) Product Support 3) Manuals and Downloads 4) Warranty Info 5) Product Registration: Registering your product gives you access to easy warranty support, convenient opt-in to special promos and offers, faster troubleshooting and service, and quick notification of system updates 6) Samsung Community: A great resource for getting help from Samsung moderators and customers and more 7) …and more product, repair, order, and care options Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on this product. Did Not Last
i love samsung products love them. i have 2 g7 monitors for my pc, 3 other samsung tvs, phones, and my watch all samsung. im a fan boy. but this tv let me down. i bought it about 2 years ago when it was released, and its now dead. it was barely used, im at my computer the majority of the time. i would say it has less than 500 total hours over 2 years. and now no picture period. this was a major let down.
Hi CallMeCarl, We are sorry to hear that your Samsung TU7000 TV is no longer working after two years. Samsung prides itself on high-quality products and a great customer experience. Please know we are here to help you. If your TV has a black screen even when it's on, it's quite possible it could actually be your external device and not your TV. Please try these troubleshooting steps for your blank screen issue: 1. Press the Home button on the remote. If the menu appears, the TV is powered on but is either not on the correct source or not receiving a signal. If the menu does not appear, the TV may be having power issues. Check the red standby light, a little red light at the edge of the TV that you aim the remote at. In normal use, the red standby light is on when the TV is off (indicating the TV is on standby), and the red standby light is off when the TV is in use (or doesn't have power). 2. Confirm the TV is set to the same source as the external device. For instance, if your cable box is connected to HDMI 1, set the TV source to HDMI 1. If the TV is set to the correct source but there is still no image, unplug and reconnect the AV connections one cable at a time from both ends of each cable. If there's any damage to the cable, it will need to be replaced. After you've reconnected the external device, turn it off and then back on. 3. Test the HDMI cable. Some TVs have an HDMI cable test. Some models only have this test after a software update, and older models do not have it. If your model does not have this test or is not connected by HDMI, skip to the next step. The test is designed for HDMI cords less than 6 feet long and may not give accurate results on longer cords. To perform the test, make sure the TV's source is still on the HDMI setting for the cable you want to test, and then navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test. If the test says, the cable is bad, replace the cable. Service is not required. 4. Test different external devices. The final thing to rule out is the external device you're using. Try connecting a different device or using a different source port. If you were unable to test the cable in the previous step, then try swapping the cable, too. If the TV can display a picture in any other setup, then you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working and troubleshoot or replace it. If you continue to have issues, please give us a call so we can troubleshoot further with you. Contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week.
