I bought this two months ago after injuring my back. My prior litter came in 35 pound bags which I am no longer allowed to lift. The Fresh Step boxes are easy to carry and manage and do not strain my back, so a Plus for the human side. On the kitty side, I left one litter box full of the prior brand of litter and filled the second litter box with this UltraUnscented Fresh Step litter. Within a week, about 75% of the cat deposits were in the Fresh Step litter box, so it appears all three cats approve. Back to the human side, this litter clumps very hard and it does not retain a smell so I am able to simply add more litter to top off the level and then I change it out once a month. A winner for both human and kitties!

I chose Simply Unscented because I have not liked scented litter (from other brands) in the past. I like the texture of this litter a lot; the particles are a little larger, which helps reduce tracking. I also think this litter is less dusty than some other brands. I think Fresh Step Simply Unscented Litter does a great job with controlling odor. I really like that there is no smell to the odor and that the charcoal particles help to reduce odors from the cats using the litter. My cats immediately adjusted to Fresh Step after using another brand and have not shown any signs of disliking the brand. I'll definitely stick with Fresh Step Simply Unscented Litter from now on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot stand any scented litters, and this Fresh Step unscented brand(like all their others) is excellent. No scent, keeps my cats poop smell at bay, and clumps well. Will continue to buy any Fresh Step unscented brands.

I have had trouble finding a clumping litter that didn't have a sickly sweet smell to it due to it being scented. Even the ones who claimed to be unscented still had a perfume odor to it. (Even Fresh Step's "unscented" has a smell) So I was a little reluctant to try "Ultra unscented" when I first noticed it new on the shelf, but I'm glad that I did! This litter is truly unscented & it clumps great! I have the biggest litter box available (I have a Maine Coon mix kitty, so she's rather large) so I buy 2 boxes of the 14 pounds & it fills up nicely. When it starts getting low, (which takes a few weeks, I only have 1 cat) I buy another 14 pound box to add on top of the already existing litter. It stays fresh with me cleaning out the clumps & topping off the litter for a few months. After a few months, I completely dump everything out & do a complete clean of the box, & I start over again with 2 boxes of the litter. It saves money, & the box stays fresh for my sweet kitty since I'm able to clean out the clumps everyday! It is also very great at keeping the odor at bay. I was using a different litter before I found this one, & there would be quite a strong smell whenever my cat pooped, but now I barely even notice when she goes. The only complaint I have is tracking. I have a litter mat, but that doesn't completely stop it. However, compared to other brands I've tried, the tracking is manageable. TL;DR This is a great litter that clumps well, is truly unscented, & does great at eliminating odors. The litter does track some, but I've had worse tracking with other litters in the past.

Diva is 14.5 years old and has chronic renal failure. She loves using this litter and that makes me happy. Normal is a young overweight monster kitty and she also loves using this litter. It is not about me- it is about my babies. They decide every cat related purchase I make! For now, we are buying this litter and this litter only!

We also have multiple foster kitties at a time and this is still the only littler we use. Very very low dust and your kitty doesn’t smell like a weird floral scent if your extra sensitive to smells like I am.

I recently switched back to Fresh Step from a cat litter machine that used this terrible litter that had a scent that was so overpowering. When it mixed with cat urine, the smell was beyond tolerable. Listen, no litter is perfect, but, at the very least, FS Ultra Unscented controls the stench. Thank you.

I am very happy to be able to continue using my favorite litter, while not subjecting my kitties to perfumes and scents! I am not so sure they are good for cats, and since I prefer more natural products, it feels great to extend this to my three fur babies!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We tried it cause our cat's urine seemed to be strong odor & she had running eyes due to perfumes in the litter. We also had to go out of state overnight & could not take her on our road trip. The litter was REALLY great for her & an overnight.

The single 42 LB container (one flexible bag and not the plastic containers like shown) that was delivered is terrible because the original bag would not open after the zipper was opened and the plastic bag was sealed way to deep on the top and caused the whole bag to tear open and split apart below the zipper, thus the zipper recloseing was useless and also after the bag was torn actual edge opening was melted down together on approx. a 45 degree on both ends next to and just bellow the zipper ends. These were the ones I received delivered and on-line from Sam's Club.
