If I could rate it zero stars I would. I've purchased Fresh Step Simply Unsented for Years. It used to have nice big granules that did'nt stick to my cat's paws. Now it looks like pure charcoal! I tried the Outstreach line and it has a LOT of charcoal but the new formula of Simply Unsented is pure charcoal. It sticks to everything and tracks everywhere. I buy four boxes at a time and had to get rid of them all. You should at least label them New Formula.

I have used the Simply Unscented litter for years and ABSOLUTELY HATE the new formula. I can live with dust but mud I can’t. The new formula is horrible to scoop and my 15 cats sling muddy litter all over the walls trying to get it off their paws. Now I have to use another brand because theirs is now better than Fresh Step.

I have used the Unscented Fresh Step Cat Litter for years and within the past year the formula was changed. It is still a good litter and I do not plan to change to another brand, but what I have noticed is that I have to change the litter much more frequently than in the past. What this means is more money spent - bring back the old formula. In addition, my cat has decided to use other things rather than the litter - my husband does not appreciate that. That's because if it doesn't get changed sooner, she won't use it. Sometimes "New & Improved" really isn't. The box is also harder to open and I am getting older (not helpful).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do not like the strong scent that many cat litters use. My cats do not seem to like the scents either. Am very pleased with this litter. Not only is it unscented but it is also very low dust. The cats are happy so I am happy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In general, Fresh Step is the litter that performs best. It clumps tightly, and the odor control is excellent. My vet recommended that I start using an unscented litter when one of my cats was a having a health issue, and I realized how heavily scented other formulas are. This particular formula is also lower dust than others I've used, which is ultimately good for my cats. I now have 3 cats, and this formula has performed beautifully in a busy litter box!

I've always bought the original clumping Fresh Step. Now that I'm in an apartment instead of a house, the scent was overpowering. This is great. It took the cat a couple minutes to figure out that this is her litter and not a new game, but she got it.

I'm yet another very long-time customer completely dissatisfied with the current Simply Unscented litter. It is NOT even close to the previous boxes of the litter. I am thoroughly disappointed and will have to try other brands. My biggest problem now is how to dispose of the current box of lousy litter. Fresh Step: what were you thinking? You had a great product. Now you have a really bad one.

I’ve used Fresh Step for years, but the recent formula change is a dealbreaker. The litter is now darker, way dustier, and my cats track it all over the house. Clumps fall apart more easily, and the whole room smells like dust. Whatever “improvements” were made, they’ve made it worse in every way. Really disappointed — time to find a new brand.

It works better than the litter I was using before, but is significantly more expensive. We have 5 cats and can't afford to spend that much on litter all the time, so I wish it was a little more affordable for households with more cats.
