There really are no signs of cat "smells". The product doesn't cover the scent--it appears to trap it.

Purchased this liter last week and works great. Unscented liter is what I buy and this liter fits my needs.

I like to use clumping sand and our cat likes unscented sand, so Fresh Step Simply Unscented works for both of us.
