This has been our go-to litter for the past several years. As others have said here,something with the formula HAS changed. The perfume smell makes us sneeze, gives me headaches, causes flare ups of my chronic lung issues, AND makes my cats fur and feet smell 24/7. Their eyes have been goopy too. I wrote the company an email about 3 weeks ago. No response! As others here have said, the litter granules are smaller,darker, bustier and highly perfumed. I am going to have to look for another brand. My cats any my health are being compromised. Very disappointing. Also very frustrating that no one has replied to my email and that you say there have been no formula changes. That just can't be true. These reviews show otherwise.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only use cat litter that is unscented as I don’t think it’s good for my cats to uncertainly breathe in artificial fragrance and perfumes. Their noses are so much more sensitive than ours. This cat litter is good. I find it a little dusty for my taste and wish it was 100% dust free. Otherwise, this is a fine cat litter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is great litter! We have littler robot v4s and it works Great in them. We have 2 large adult cats and the pictured kitten. I can’t smell their output at all. It clumps well and is not dusty. I like that it’s not scented with artificial gross scents. Will buy again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thankful for Fresh Step for sending over this generously sized box of litter - the one thing that I hate buying most of all! Because handing money over in exchange for a box of clay for my cats to poop on just doesn’t sit right with me :) but, they need it! This is not my usual brand when it comes to litter, but while I’m happy with my current litter - I’ve been considering changing brands because I know that there are much cheaper options out there. While “cheaper” would be ideal, I don’t want a cheaper quality or anything that my babies aren’t happy with. They’ve been using this litter for a few days now, and so far they don’t seem to mind the change. They’ve been using the box with this litter in it as they usually do, with no hesitation. And while I’m not using it myself, I do notice some differences. My usual litter consists of very small rounded bits of clay, and this litter is more like shards of clay. It doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable to them, but I would think that the small round bits would feel better on their paws. With these larger pieces, it does seem like there’s less tracking which I like. Also, less dust so far! My usual litter ends up EVERYWHERE. This Fresh Step litter is pretty good, unless I run into any issues down the line then I might just end up switching over to Fresh Step!

I live the unscented formula and the odor blocking protection. My cat never smells like litter and the box never has a lingering odor. It clumps and scoops easily. The box is relatively easy to open and easy to pour. It lasts a long time if you scoop and pour a little more in each time.

The clumps are tight and dont sink or cling to the bottom of the litter box. It does cling to my cats paws a little, but a litter mat fixes that easily

I really don’t appreciate that Sam’s Club priced Fresh Step Ultra Unscented cat litter at $13.98 over the holiday season, only to be out of stock the entire time. That discounted “deal” remained online until you restocked. Now that you have it in stock for shipping, the price is back up to $18.98 + cost of shipping per unit. My local Sam’s Club stopped stocking the unscented version a couple years ago and only carries the Febreze version - which I don’t understand, because the Febreze scented litter is nauseating. So in order to have this shipped, it costs approximately $28-$29 per unit after tax and shipping. No thank you! They should both be stocked in store! Until then, I’ll take my pet care needs elsewhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried a lot of litters and keep coming back to Fresh Step Simply Unscented. I wanted something without strong perfume but still good odor control, and this does the job. The clumps are firm and easy to scoop, the box lasts a good amount of time, and there’s very little dust when I pour it in. My cat adjusted to it right away and the litter box area doesn’t smell like anything, which is exactly what I want. Great choice if you’re sensitive to fragrance but still need serious odor control.

It’s unscented, prevents bacterial odor growth on the litter. It’s also good for multiple cats and is a clumping litter. It’s easy to use and pour.
