I have been using this litter for about a year; my cats use the litter box without fail, so I know they are ok with this litter. I use covered litter boxes, & even with these, there is an immediate odor, which does dissipate eventually. My cats are fed very healthy food; the healthier the food, the stinkier the poops! The clumping factor is very important to me, & lately, it seems it hasn't been clumping quite as well as it used to. Hope the "formula" hasn't changed. Overall, I am satisfied with this litter; I like having it in smaller bags, which I then use when empty to dispose of the dirty litter.

i won't buy any other litter!!! the only complaint i have is that the container used to come in a easy to carry pail/bucket and now it comes in a block that has a difficult handle to obtain and hurts the hand to carry a 50 lb product. go back to the bucket. the cat litter is the best, even went on vacation for a week came back to house with 3 cats, and didn't smell. know thats great litter!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like using the Fresh Step brand litter's. All the different varieties that I have tried from Fresh Step has worked so well. The litter clumps really well and cover's all the kitty smells that you normally have from the litter box. I have multiple cats and they all use it with no problem. I like that you can't even tell that I have multiple cat's. Their litter really works well and I will continue to be a Fresh Step litter user. Definitely recommend any of the Fresh Step litters.

My cats and I love this litter! I've been using Fresh Step products for 5 years and have tried many other brands both generic and name, but they didn't work as well as Fresh Step. The Total Control with Febreze eliminates the odors very well. I have to admit that I didn't completely change the litter, only scooped daily and refilled as needed for nearly a month before I had to dump and refill the entire litter box. I wanted to see how long the fresh scent would last with 3 large cats using it (sadly I lost my male so I only have my 2 females). The 42 pound bag usually lasts me for 2 months so its a big savings over the smaller boxes. The dust is minimal . The only complaints I have is the 42 pound bag is very difficult to pour and carry due to the size and they do track it all over the house. .

I have 4 cats. That means lots of litter box use every day. In a small apartment, 3 litter boxes could make for a bad smelling home. But this litter really absorbs any odors. And the value is awesome too. And lastly, low dust. No one likes dust kicking up when they are scooping.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fresh Step is the only brand of litter my cats will use. They turn their noses up to anything else and then relieve themselves any where other than the little box if we don't use Fresh Step. The Total Control little clumps well and eliminates the smell while still appealing to these incredibly fickle felines.

I only bought Fresh Step because Sam's has been out of my favorite Tidy Cat litter in the 2 pk 20 lb containers. Fresh Step is like many other cat litters in that it is dense and heavy. It looks and feels like it has sand and rock dust for fillers. I hope Sam's brings back Tidy Cats!

Controls smells very well and clumps well. With my first cat 7 yrs ago had to experiment for almost 2 years before purchasing this only b/c I was running low at home and didn't want to make another stop...so very glad I did! Bag take a bit of getting used to handling, but doable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried as many times as I have cats, (I have 4 indoor, 3 in/out and 2 outdoor) to use other 'cheaper' brands of cat litter to save money. The reality is using cheaper, cost wise, isn't cheaper! I had to use more product, scoop more often and sometime dump an entire litterbox out! Not even to mention that the odor control was non existent….NOPE....I'll stick with my freshstep. I do add 1 cup of baking soda each weekend to refresh the boxes. It keeps the older litter clumping so I never have to fully dump a box!

I am constantly buying new litter brands/types to find the one that works best Luna, and for me. We've went through MANY different litters until we found Fresh Step Total Control Scented Litter. When I wake up in the morning I'm not hit with an overwhelming smell of his over night droppings anymore. This litter perfectly covers his droppings until I wake up and remove them. Throughout the day I used to know exactly when he used his box because I could smell it through the entire house until I made it over to remove it. Now I have to go an check to see if he's left anything or not because I no longer can smell when he does. I LOVE IT! No more litter hunting for us! We have found our perfect match!
