I had my patio extended and had to build up a bank of soil to blend in with the existing lawn. I came upon the EZ Seed almost by accident and was sure glad I had. I was able to seed the new area easily with out a hassle. The product is easy to use, clean to handle and stays put when sewn. It requires so much less attention and since it is mulched, it stays where it's put. Since it's already fertilized there's no need to fertilize and no question of how much fertilizer to use. In short, it's an ideal product and not only was I pleased with it, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I have little to compare to as I have used Scotts for 40 years plus and the comparison has to be with my neighbor who is a bargain hunter and never gets what he expects because he continues to repeat the same thing year after year.

A great combination seed mix in a easy carry container without the hassle of how to seal up the package when you don't need all of the product. The easy flip open lid allows one to spread out the seed you need without having to get out a separate spreader.

NO LUCK!!! So I decided to try this product, Scotts® EZ Seed® Sun & Shade (New Formula) to fix this issue. I did as directed and within no time I had green grass shooting up out of the dirt. Right now I got to let it go to seed to ensure good root formation. I like that the super-absorbent growing material absorbs water easily and provides what is necessary to complete the task at hand. (GROW GRASS!!)

This Spring I got it out on the lawn in late March and it has started growing and becoming pretty thick in a hurry. The product is easy to spread and when watered, it does thicken and absorb the water to allow for excellent germination. Highly recommend it!

I only needed to scratch existing area with a hard rake before shaking seed around. this product is great for small patches. I would advise to use another Scotts product for very large areas.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this product as part of a free promotion and used it in late April. 6 weeks later and the bare spots have filled in nicely. We have had a lot of rain this spring so that helped. Plan is to water that area thoroughly once a week throughout the summer.

We have seeded our lawn 4 times successfully in the last few years, repaired damage, patched bare spots and even fully re-seeded our entire lawn after rototilling it. I would say we are on an expert level by now. We decided to try this seed for damage spots due to kids. We paid almost 50 dollars for a large bag at our local Lowes, did everything right, according to instructions and scotts.com advice. After 4 wks of patiently waiting, keeping our kids out of the back yard, watching moisture level and just babying it we have nothing to show for. We spent hours raking, pulling weeds to prepare for this seed and still nothing. We have had better results using very cheap generic grass seed than this stuff. i really am disappointed i threw away the bag and receipt or i would be demanding a refund
