[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product in an area under some trees where my dog had dug up the lawn. The product was easy to use since you just open and shake it put. There was little mess to deal with. After a little water and some time the grass sprouted and looks great. Let's just hope the dog keeps off the spot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cut my grass yesterday, but I didn't cut my repaired patch ... yet! I am giving all of those thriving deep green blades a chance to get 6 inches high. This area gets thirsty in the droughts because it is below oaks and those thick mats of roots lie a couple of inches below the surface. In preparation, I used an aerator to loosen the soil and get some water down deep. I spread the EZ Seed as directed, watered thoroughly, and have been helped out by some regular good rain. It looks so good, I was tempted to mow, but as directed, I am letting those thickets develop. When this stand is a little mature, I plan to repeat the process in some other spots. This way I can focus my attention on 1 area at a time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Scotts EZ Seed on bare spots in my lawn. After only 1 week the seed began to germinate. The secret to success is to keep the seed mixture wet (damp) day and night. Cool weather during the Fall season is also very helpful for quick germination of the seed. This is a superior grass product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as sample to test last fall. It was to late to provide honest feedback because temps were already freezing at night. I planted it in a shaded spot that we have had a hard time getting grass to grow. Since it was so late in the season I over seeded the area after loosening the soil an 1" deep. Planted per package instructions and water accordingly. I was surprised to see that the seed germinated and was filling in nicely. Then it snowed and snowed. I figured that it was done. To my pleasant surprise this spring it filled the bare area with a deep rich green grass even though our temperature has been 10 degrees below normal and our rainfall is a record setting 21.09" when our yearly norm is 11". I highly recommend this grass.

Interesting reviews. This may be part of the issue? I do not see any discussion on pre emergent fertilization use with new grass seed?? Scott’s seems to be missing this issue in their comment and disclosure for proper use? Maybe I missed it, but I have always been told once you put a Crabgrass pre emergent on your lawn your ability to grow grass stops. You have to wait till fall. Scott’s, please address and insure this situation is in your instructions, if a true statement for all your customers.

seems to work okay on small spots. Doesn't seem to work well on larger areas(3' x 4'). Thought maybe 1st container was an issue. 2nd container not much better(purchased from different vendor). Sparse growth. Even some small spots not germinating. Similar problems with this product last year. Old fashion seeding with seed, peat moss, etc. works the best.

A little soil prep with a garden rake, application, and regular water produced lush results. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing some repair to their lawn.
