Ez Seed is a Quick Patch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The edge of my lawn is constantly being torn up by cars. I solved the problem by installing 4 X 4 lighted posts on the edge of my lawn adjoining the street. Once installed I filled the ruts with Miracle Gro top soil and spread Scott’s EZ Seed - this fast growing patch filled in the ruts with thick luscious grass in no time flat. If you need a quick patch for your lawn, you can’t go wrong with Scott’s EZ Seed.

This product is easy to apply.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As this review is written about a grass seed it is difficult to see the results until next spring. Just applied 10/10/2016...However, this product sings quality and simplicity! The ease of preparing and then seeding are exceptional! I recommend this to ALL!

Easy to use and grows great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After doing some house remodeling, we ended up with a few bare patches on the back lawn where saw horses were placed. We tried the EZ Patch and Repair and with a little extra water, the bare spots filled in within 2 weeks. Amazing results!

Have not used the product yet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have not used the current supply of the product as of yet - however I have used the product (Scotts Easy Seed) in the past and was very pleased with the result. I'm experiencing patched of clover which I'm having a difficult time in removing - will try Weed Begone when the temperatures recede from the 90's. I could use some advise.

Want great grass quick?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nothing could be easier than Scott's EZ seed. That's because it's EZ to use. Excellent coverage and it blends to your existing grass. The only hard part is to monitor keeping it from drying out. So watering during the early stage is important. Now that's EZ.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this Scotts EZSEED several times in the past and have been very much satisfied with the results. The seed germinated quickly and was thick enough to mow in two and one half weeks. I have used the product at a neighbors and a relatives lawn. I do not have a camera to show the results.

Did not work

I was really excited to try this so I bought a nice size bag of the ezSeed to use on various parts of my lawn that needed to be re-seeded. So I followed the instructions explicitly, did everything that was on the instructions. Then I waited - and waited - watered it and waited some more and nothing. SO - I thought I would try it again, never seen one blade of grass. Tried it in other parts of my lawn that was bare and needed some grass - same thing, no grass. If I hadn't been so sure that this would have worked, I would have saved the receipt and returned the bag of "no-good". But I didn't so this was a waste of effort, money and time.

Super Easy and Great Results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seeding the lawn is always a guess work. You never really know if it will take so I always have to apply a ton of seed. I decided to try Scott's easy seed and it worked wonderful! Shake out as much as need and water...it was that simple. I will never use bagged seed again.

Garbage

I tried to use this product to fill in where my garden used to be. After adding a truck full of top soil and tilling/leveling I put down two bags of EZ seed which according to the bag was plenty. I watered every morning until dark brown as stated in the instructions and after 14 days nothing. I’ve been a landscaper for several years and normally only use Lesco products, I figured I would give this a shot since it was my home and I wanted it to grow quickly. What a mistake, now I have to do it all over again.

We are sorry for the disappointment you have experienced with the results of your recent seeding effort. I'd like to offer a few tips that may be helpful to you in future seeding endeavors. As with any seed product, Scotts Turf Builder EZ Seed requires both continuous moisture and warm soil temperatures. When one of these conditions is missing, poor germination is the result. Be sure to spread the Turf Builder EZ Seed evenly over the prepared area. Turf Builder EZ Seed should be sparsely applied to the depth of about 1/16" to 1/8" thick. If Turf Builder EZ Seed has been applied too thickly, germination will be poor. Also, make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used where you are seeding, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination of the seed. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass. I hope these extra tips are helpful. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. Second purchase was a disappointment.

After great bare batch results with my purchase I bought more… the results was a complete disappointment. Not one blade of new grass after more than a month, didn’t do anything different in preparation and the weather was suitable for growth. Purchased through Amazon so I don’t know how long it’s been sitting on the shelf if that’s an issue… after looking at the reviews it looks like I’m not the only one.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. Different grasses germinate at different times. Germination times on label are based upon the grass type in the bag that will germinate the quickest. For Cool Season Grasses (Bluegrass, Ryegrass, and Fescue) soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees (+12.7 Celsius) for grass seed to germinate. This generally requires daytime temperatures consistently in the 65+ degrees (18.3 Celsius) range for cool season grasses. In the spring it takes a lot of consistent warm temperatures to warm up the soil, especially in the northern states. Cool night-time temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Cold weather will delay germination but will not hurt the seed. We recommend watering 1-2 times per day to keep the seeds moist, until seed germinates. Then, we recommend watering about 1-1 1/2" per week as needed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. Weed control used prior to seeding such as a Crabgrass Preventer will prevent seed from germinating. Weed control product used on new seedlings - such as Turf Builder Weed & Feed or Ortho Weed-B-Gon (Killex in Canada) will kill seedlings when they first germinate We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.
