I owned the exact same mattress for 6 years and it was time to replace. This was advertised as a FIRM and came in a generic box with no markings. there were no "details", warranty, or instructions included to verify the model and firmness, which is odd for a Serta brand mattress and concerning for me. That said, the mattress quickly took on the shape and depth and had zero smell. It just doesn't feel as firm as the previous one I purchased from Sam's 6 years ago.

We bought the king size mattress to replace our 12 year old very expensive (but comfortable as well), Tempurpedic. Construction of mattresses have improved so much that you no longer have to drop thousands to get a firm good nights sleep. My husband set this up the evening we received it. Out of the box and on the bed. We were asleep in no time. We have been sleeping on it for a month and it is firm. DH is close to 300 lbs and 6' tall. Neither of us sink into the bed. It is incredibly supportive and we are sorry we didn't replace our old worn out mattress sooner. We bought this be on sale for $399 during the Sam's club event. Because of the deal and the reviews, we also bought a Queen size to replace on of our guest bedroom's mattress. This sleeps just as comfortably. We have tried both. TWO fine quality superb mattress for under $800?! Unheard of!! Don't think twice about this mattress. You will not regret it!

We have had this mattress (12" Serta Sleep-to-go) for about 2 weeks. We bought it to replace a very old sagging pillow top spring mattress in our master bedroom. We were not a fan of the pillow top and have liked firmer beds in the past, so the negative reviews did not scare us. I should note that we have a sleep number in our other bedroom and are happy with it, but it's not great for non-sleeping activities, so we were hoping for an alternative. Shipping wise, the bed came on a Monday instead of the previous Friday that was estimated via email, but that didn't bother us. The box it came in was missing a wheel and part of the box was torn, but again that didn't bother us either. It was easy to unroll and unfold and it fluffed up to almost 12" almost immediately after unrolling it (12" on one side, 11 3/4" on the other an hour in). It had a not pleasant off-gassing smell, so we slept elsewhere the first night, turned on the exhaust fan in the connecting bathroom, and tried it the following night. My experience and my husband's experience on the bed were completely different. I am about 36 years old, 5' 8" tall, and 120 lbs and have slept well on any bed my whole life, cheap hotels included. Every night I slept on this bed I had extreme problems falling asleep (took more than 2 hours each night), woke up pretty close to every hour, and woke up sore through my shoulders, neck, and back in the mornings. I stuck it out for more than 10 days trying different pillows, positions (I sleep on my side, back, and occasionally my stomach), and switching sides of the bed with my husband. There was only very minimal improvement if any and I was still waking up frequently through the night and having numbness and soreness in my elbows and knees, which I've never experienced before. I stopped trying when I got a debilitating headache that lasted 8 hours and seemed to stem from the neck/shoulder/back pain and tightness (my first non-migraine headache in over 20 years). Needless to say, we will be returning the bed. My husband is also 36 years old, just over 6' tall, and weighs about 230 lbs. He generally sleeps on his side, and sometimes his stomach or back. He literally has had the best two weeks of sleep in his entire life on this bed. For the 17 years I have known him, he has always had problems sleeping - waking up in the middle of the night, getting up at 5:00 am because he can't get back to sleep, and basically living life in a state of semi-exhaustion. In contrast, on this bed, he has slept like a baby, almost overslept for work at 7:00 am, and says he feels rested and wonderful in the mornings. If we could cut the bed in half, we would. So if you are considering the bed...flip a coin?

I am amazed how hard this mattress feels when I lay on it for the first few minutes each time, then it seems to mold to me. Many mornings, I feel rested, but way up with a sore hip because I have slept on a side and haven't moved all night---as far as I know. Also, Sam's never sent any kind of delivery notification on this item. It just arrived. Ahead of time and before I had closed on the new house. Frustrating.

Seems like a quality product. A little stiffer than I'd like, but everybody else in my family says it's perfect. I guess that's better than too soft. There's no topper or other remedy for that problem. Took awhile to get here because of backorders. But it came in good condition. Try to get it on sale if you can wait. But a hundred dollars here or there is not a big deal for something you'll be sleeping on every night.

This mattress is HARD. The top layer of foam is nice, it gives when you lay down. However, the lower layers of foam do not give as well. If you are a vampire sleeper (one that never moves) you will be fine, as the bed will form to you over time. If you are an active sleeper (one that moves at all, or changes positions frequently) this is not the bed for you.

We are used to the regular old school matress which we purchased in a firm traditional but after a few months we were back at square one. My husband was gerrinf back aches. Now with this one, hes getting good sleep. We did leave it out for 3 days so the mattress could rise. This matress is warm not hot like the traditional eurotop.

This was a top rated mattress in a consumer reports study and it was one of the least expensive mattresses rated. Sam's club offerred it at the CR magazine price and so I bought it. It is a excellent mattress at way less the cost of most of the others rated.

My husband and I had purchased a Sleep Number bed, but was never pleased with it. We purchased the Serta SleepToGo 12" Gel Memory Foam Luxury Queen Mattress and love it. It is so much more comfortable than the Sleep number bed and way more economical.

All the reviews were great. As I was looking for a firm mattress. One person said they took it back to Sam’s because it was like sleeping on a floor. That’s exactly what I needed to hear. Sam’s delivered it, it better then I thought it would be. If you like it firm buy it.
