I have been happy with this product, BUT the new canister is awful. Took awhile to “pinch and pull “ it open. Someone with arthritic hands would never be able to open this. I had my old canister, so I reused it. But that doesn't help with opening the new ones in the future. Might go back to Neocell Collagen for the ease of use.

I've been taking it for just over a month and already my nails show improved growth at the bases. Re packaging: score the perforations first with a knife (or fingernail), then the top will pull up easily AND it will close without a problem and with a good seal.

The taste is absolutely disgusting and overpowering. I'm shocked! I've used Vital Proteins before and it was not this bad. I tried plain water, sweetened drinks, yogurt .. anything to mask the awful taste/flavor to no avail. I have to return it. Terrible.

I lam a long time user and love the product and so so happy about the cardboard packaging. No exposure to plastics and no plastic waste. We use everyday so go through a carton in a couple weeks. I put it in a glass canister on the counter since I use daily. Never commented before but am so happy about the package change. Thank you for leading the way!

I just bought 2 new containers of collagen. I've been using this for the past 2 years now and this batch smells BAD. One doesn't have a smell (exp 2-7-28) BUT the newer batch (exp 6-12-28) smells like it's an expiring milk. I've now read other reviews below about this same exact issue. What the heck is going on with this product!? I'm returning and finding a new brand. This is unfortunate.

I really struggle opening the new paperboard canister. I just bought my 2nd one. I struggled opening the first one and ended up using pliers and messing up the lid. For this 2nd canister, I followed the video instructions of pinching the rim and pulling, and I still couldn't open it as instructed and had to use tools. That's not safe. Please consider changing to a screw top. I will choose another brand that is easier to open until then. Additionally, once open, it's not secure. I really like your product, but if I cannot easily open it myself, it's of no use.

Disregard the negative reviews about the new packaging! As clearly indicated in the pictures those reviewers submitted, they did not open the new package correctly. To open, you simply follow the directions on the lid then remove the protective film. This new packaging is not opened like the old plastic container…you DO NOT peel off a strip.

I have to laugh when I hear so many people complaining about the packaging.. Hello people... Most of our recycled plastics never get recycled! Thank you vital proteins for being a responsible manufacturer! Please don't listen to consumers who are so "inconvenienced" by having to put the product in another container.. 😭 let's all please consider the earth and all the garbage we already dump in her.. I know I already have a ton of left over vital protein containers.. They work perfectly! 😊

I love the actual product and took it for several years, but the packaging has defeated me. I have arthritis, and it's unfair to suggest that those of us who have problems with opening the container aren't reading the instructions--we are, but just don't have the finger strength to pinch and pull! I've gone between buying a rival brand and hacking at a Vital Proteins container with a carving knife to transfer it to an old, plastic canister. Hate, hate, hate the new packaging.

Easy to take with my morning coffee. Today I tried it with my cereal but it took a little longer to dissolve in the cold milk. I'm 72 and use it for bone and joint health. However, please go back to original plastic container. I nearly destroyed the new one today trying to open it! Yes, I read the directions but I'm glad I saved the old container so I could transfer the powder to it. New one is not user friendly!
