The frozen Raybern’s Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches are especially made to be cooked in a microwave. I had extra time and actually followed the baking directions. It took about 30 minutes to bake two sandwiches. It was worth the wait because the deli rolls came out crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The portion of meat was bigger than I expected and had good flavor without been overly salty. My husband likes a lot of cheese, so he said that the sandwich was a little “light” on the white American cheese. For additional flavor, we both added mustard to our sandwiches. A sandwich is only 410 calories with 15 grams of protein, but it’s a little high on the fat content. In the future, I might add some more cheese or veggies before baking. Although I’ve seen Raybern’s Philly Cheesesteak several times at my local Sam’s Club, I never took the opportunity to purchase it and try it. I can honestly say that I regret walking past this product before and definitely will purchase this again! I was skeptical about heating the bread in the microwave, but it came out perfect! It cooked up soft and delicious, exactly what you want it to be! The meat is tasty. I was concerned that it might be salty but it really didn’t seem salty, only delicious! I only cooked the sandwich for 75 seconds, which was plenty. Everything was warm but I am eager to Try the next one at 90 seconds so that the cheese will be meltier! We liked the flavor of this plain, but condiments would enhance the sandwich and you could really change it to suit your personal taste. This will be a perfect grab item for my teenager this summer or even a lunch bag item for my husband. I think even my toddler grand boys will love it! I can also see me keeping some on hand for those times we need a fast to the table meal. Do yourself a favor and grab some next time you can!
