Solid Product at a Good Price

The cameras are great! I've got a lot to learn about the monitoring plans offered by Arlo. For installation, I used siding hooks so I wouldn't have to put any holes in the siding while I figure out where these go. I did get have one little issue, and now that I know what happened, it won't be an issue going forward. The issue -- they stopped notifying me! I checked into it and apparently, sometimes after app updates some setting are adjusted which can change your notifications. They're back now and I'm happy!

The cameras are hard to get set up on WiFi and you have to pay for the service The old camera WiFi was free to use on WiFi. It really needs a base to connect to. Need to think twice

Pass - Problematic

Nonstop issues and problems. The app is clunky and slow. The cameras always go offline no matter what you do. Customer Support aks you the same series of questions 4-5x and then offers no real solution.

Motion detection insufficient

The motion detection doesn’t work very well I have old models which are pro 2s and they go off constantly but the new pro 5s wouldn’t detect anything even if it was right on top of something I am not sure what’s up with these but they sure haven’t gotten any better with new models

Not an outdoor camera!

These cameras are sold as outdoor rated. I have one of them that is exposed to the elements. After only a few weeks some heavy rains penetrated the housing and had water inside the camera! Arlo support called it an “Act of God” so they refused to deal with it. Wonder how can a system be outdoor rated if it can not withstand rain!? After few months the camera lens started fogging on the inside now. Arlo support is totally worthless again and in denial. Copy/paste non solutions from them. If you are looking for a system that is installed outside and exposed to the elements stay away from Arlo!!!
