Perfect for me!

I am so glad I bought the Vivoactive 5! I have tried multiple smart watches and smart rings and they didn’t meet my needs. The vivoactive is meeting them! Great step counter, hrv is tracked and multiple other things. It is a GREAT investment!!! Buy it. You won’t regret it.

Not for regular folks

It’s Way too complicated to setup - need a special college course to complete a setup. Simplicity - should be a modo for the users. May have a special tab for advanced settings. Moreover, this watch is dictating you what to do. Just a few examples; “take a rest and start moving” or “keep moving” EVERY Hour!!!! Or it starts buzzing in the morning despite the fact that my phone is still on the sleep mode?!!! Also it suddenly decides that I need to run, or I need to pick up a body to challenge? I DID NOT set it up!!!! I don’t want the watch dictates me what to do! I’ve tried multiple times to adjust settings on my phone and my watch-no success!!! It seems it’s running on its own! I’m thinking of returning it and I would discourage regular folks like me from buying it.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your frustrations with us. Many of the features you've described can be disabled by following some simple steps. The Move Alerts and Relaxation Reminders can be turned off by holding the bottom button, then selecting Settings > Notifications & Alerts > Health & Wellness. From there, you can toggle off any alerts that you don't want to use. In particular, you mentioned Move Alerts and Stress Alerts, so you'll want to turn those off. For full details of the alerts you can change, check out this link: http://ms.spr.ly/6420sENda As for your watch vibrating while your watch is in sleep mode, it sounds like you may need to set up your Sleep/Wake Window. Doing this will put your watch into automatic Do Not Disturb mode during your chosen hours, so your watch will not vibrate. Here's how to do that: http://ms.spr.ly/6421sENdx If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact Garmin Support at 800-800-1020. When you're given automated options, you can select option 3 for Fitness products, then select option 2 to speak with a representative who specializes in Vivoactive watches. *KC

Love how the watch looks but

I’ve had the watch for a few weeks now. I love the look of it and it’s comfortable. My complaints are the sensor doesn’t work 50% of the time. I tried tightening the watch, loosening the watch, I tried cleaning my skin under the watch, tried whipping of the sensor, nothing has worked. The sleep app worked for two days and now it say no data. I’ve had a fit bit before and loved them because the sensors are very accurate. I was told that harming are better, but so far I’m not impressed.

From Apple Watch to Garmin

I am really enjoying my Garmin Vivoactive 5 so far. I mainly really wanted it to keep up with my walking/jogging, but I’ve also used it to track my strength training/HIIT exercises as well. Truly love the battery life. It’s SO nice not having to put it on the charger at the end of each day.

A Solid Upgrade for Battery Life and Health Tracki

I recently switched from an Apple Watch to the Garmin Vivoactive 5, primarily because I was frustrated with the short battery life of the Apple Watch. After using the Vivoactive 5 for a few weeks, I can confidently say the switch has been worth it — though not without a bit of a learning curve. What I love: Battery Life: This is hands down the biggest win. I can go several days without charging, even with regular activity tracking, sleep monitoring, and notifications turned on. It’s incredibly freeing not having to top it up every night. Sleep Tracking & Coaching: Garmin's sleep tracking is far more detailed and helpful than what I had before. The sleep coaching feature gives useful insights and suggestions that feel actionable instead of just data for data’s sake. Customization & Watch Faces: There’s a great selection of watch faces, and I appreciate how customizable the watch is overall. It feels like it can be truly tailored to your preferences and lifestyle. The trade-off: Steeper Learning Curve: With all the features and data Garmin offers, there’s definitely a learning curve. The interface and menu system aren’t always intuitive, and I’m still discovering new functions weeks later. If you're coming from a more simplified system like Apple’s, expect a bit of an adjustment period. Final Thoughts: If you're someone who prioritizes battery life, in-depth health tracking, and customization, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a strong contender. It’s not quite as plug-and-play as the Apple Watch, but once you get the hang of it, the benefits are absolutely worth it.

Wow! I love it! Features A+

1. When walking, I can see the watch face with a constant on. I can see how my heart is doing easily when I walk. 2. Recharge Time - Quick, like when I'm taking a shower 3. Sleep Info - Never thought it was important. Comfortable to wear while sleeping. I can now see and understand better what happened in my sleep. 4. Sync with my iPhone And still learning more of the features. I bought a cheap "sports watch" last year. It's in the trash now.

Amazing watch, great features!

I got this watch as my birthday gift, and I could not be more pleased with it. My fitness is tracked more accurately than ever before. The watch offers great comfort and battery lasts so long. I love how it gives sleep reviews and offers tips and tricks on how to improve that, along with your stress levels, activity, etc. Only thing I would have to say is that those purchasing should be cautious of the band. I had an unknown silicon allergy that made my skin react, but after switching to a metal band, all issues went away! Such a great, quality purchase and watch.

Tracks what I need and then some.

I am a lazy athlete. I wanted a watch that would track my outdoor/indoor swimming, kayaking and skiing. The swim app is very thorough. For kayaking I use the SUP app, it tracks strokes better than the row app. I have not tried the ski app yet but looking forward to it. The sleep score is very informative. As a result I a trying to do better. I use the timer at work to time lab results. Having the notifications on my watch keeps me from reaching for my phone every time I hear a tone. I have a small wrist and the vivo is just the right size. I just discovered that I can change out the wrist bands. I have yet to discover all the bells and whistles but I am very happy with my watch.

Great product

I bought this last month as my sisters each had one. I am so glad I switched from the Galaxy 6. This battery lasts so much longer. Sometimes I even forget where I plugged in the charger as it doesn't require charging every 12 hours. I love all the features and how my sisters and I can challenge one another. Great great great!!!
