Hopefully I will never have to test the features or quality of this safe as I assume it will perform as promised. As for set up and ease of use it was way easier than other products I have used. Specially, the video tutorial was particularly helpful. As an added bonus I was happy to know the company retains records of combinations and key codes if for some reason I lost mine.

Like the safe but really wanted the GRC model. When I called I was told you stopped making it. Too bad. Had to pay an additional $60 to get the shelf I wanted to begin with when the GRC had what I wanted. Why did you stop making / producing the GRC?

I hate this safe. You have to have laying on its back and you have to actually physically be on the safe to be able to get it open.The safe is not made properly and the pins in it are too tight. SOMETIMES you can get it open that way or get it closed. Right now it is sitting in the middle of my living room being used for absolutely nothing until I can find a place to get rid of it. For the overall rating I had put one star because it wouldn’t take no stars.

I like allot of little things this safe offers. The key holders are great, there is a little slot on top of safe door for credit cads and IDs so you do not have to go digging. There is also a pocket on door for passports and other item... I purchased mine at costco but I am sure available anywhere but was easy packaging and sturdy unit.

I am very apprehensive about this safe. I had to dump the previous model of this safe (2002) model because the lock became unreliable. But the previous model had two covered drawers and a sliding compartment for documents. This model only gives you a document bucket and one flat drawer. Cost cutting. The previous lock opened very smoothly when it worked. This one is so hard to open because the mechanism is binding all over with uneven parts. There is no confidence that it will open again.

The size of this safe along with the water and fire resistant features make this the perfect safe for our home. For years we have paid high annual rental fees for a safety deposit box at our bank that only has 1/3 of the space available in this safe. This safe will pay for itself in less than 5 years after canceling our safe deposit box. Its strong and sturdy appearance along with a digital combination that allows us to set our own entry code makes this right choice for our family.

Good all-around features, size, and fire rating for the price (at Costco). When shopping for a safe, you need to determine your objective(s) - security, multi-access, fire protection, flooding, capacity, etc. Where it is placed will dictate ratings needed (near ceiling or near floor, 2nd floor wooden structure, sprinkled location, potential for flooding, etc.) . Not impressed with online information - dumbed-down site (but quality videos) - would have like to seen more information on statistics on what damage happens to most safe content under varied conditions, how hot a fire gets at various places in the home, etc. Also - manual instructions for setting options (light on duration, keypad beeps) doesn't specify that you need to enter your code immediately before making option changes (which makes sense). Would also like to see information on what to not use inside your safe - like a plastic sheet protector will melt / shrink around your document (inside can get up to 350 deg.)

My Safe arrived and as I tried to open it for the first time, the door hand just detached and pulled out. I called customer service who assured me it was an unusual occurrence so I am returning for a replacement. Otherwise it appears to be of good build. I also thought the key was an alternative locking option independent of the keypad in case the latter ever failed but it seems to be a additional locking mechanism to the keypad.

It was a great safe but the locking mechanism only lasted a week. We are returning it for another one and hoping this was a fluke. Frustrating to have happen after bolting it down. The clutch mechanism went out on it so after putting in the code the handle moves up and down without engaging the lock. Done everything the directions have suggested.
