Safe is the perfect size however if you read the instructions the waterproof and fireproof ratings are void if you secure it to a wall or the floor. Light enough two people could easily pack it so guess I will play hide and seek with it and hope to never have thieves in my home.

This safe seems to be ok, but I was really disappointed that the handle, the combination mechanism, and the battery compartment, are all cheap plastic. In case of a mild fire, the handle and everything associated with it will be the first one to melt! WHY would Sentry make a fire safety safe with plastic hardware?? I will not recommend this safe for the price i paid for it.

So far I love the safe over all. It's a sound safe with some nice accessories. I didn't care for the shelves and inner design at first but it grew on me. I like the shelves a lot since they are raised on the sides. Perfect for holding documents or weapons with in with out having to worry too much about them falling off. Their is a safe like shelf as well which I like a lot since it prevents guns and contents from falling out and banging about in case the safe falls from a flood or accidental drop. I don't like the handle on it. When pulling it back up to lock the safe it would be great to hear a small click or something. If it's not all the way back up, which is easy, then it won't open when you try to reopen it. Don't care for that but with very little practice you get use to it. Second thing I would like is a vault handle instead of the strait handle. Other than that I highly reccomend this safe.

This safe is very heavy. Few would be able to pick it up and carry it away. The locking mechanism appears very secure. Hopefully the electronic keypad would still function after being exposed to high heat. I have a smaller safe on which the top opens, but this one I can stack stuff on top of it and don't have to move it to get into the safe.

This is a good product to store important documents and items of sentimental value while protecting them from fire damage. As to storing highly precious materials for which a burglar would take an interest I suggest storage of those items within a bank deposit box or within a more expensive commercial grade version of this safe. It was a great safe but the locking mechanism only lasted a week. We are returning it for another one and hoping this was a fluke. Frustrating to have happen after bolting it down. The clutch mechanism went out on it so after putting in the code the handle moves up and down without engaging the lock. Done everything the directions have suggested.

Bought this safe at a very reasonable price! I wanted a safe for my important documents, i.e. trust, birth / death certificates, passports, etc... Most important to me is a safe that is reasonably secure, mainly a deterrent to theft. The fire and water features are a big plus. Its fairly heavy, which I like, again a theft deterrent and hardware to bolt it down is included. Pros: Value - fair level of security - fire & water features - electronic keypad (easy to program) and second level of security keys. Cons: Latch handle feels a bit cheap, I hope it lasts - takes a bit of force to open and close handle, due to seal - need to replace anti-humidity packs every 6-months to prevent mildew in safe. Summary: I recommend this safe for anyone who wants entry level security and fire and water proofing. I would not recommend this safe if your looking for a high level of security.

The safe is a nice size and the drawer inside accepts letter size files. The light that come on when the door is opened is a nice touch and very handy. I gave it only four stars because the key does not open the safe in the event of a forgotten code or dead batteries. Also, the bolts with the plastic anchors are not very sturdy. I would recommend purchasing concrete anchor bolts from a hardware store.

This safe has a really bad battery pack setup. I have changed the battery pack twice since the batteries corroded. I changed to new alkaline batteries and the safe still won't open. This is no alternate battery setup like other models. What do I do?

This safe is the perfect for important papers and expensive jewelry. We now live in a retirement community, and my old gun safe would not fit. The location and size is perfect for my needs. The initial set up was a little quirky, but it works well after learning all of the secrets and pitfalls. The technician told that the mechanism for unlocking the safe was a little tight, and I needed to lift up slightly on the handle for the mechanism to unlock.
