Disappointing

picture is good. software/interface is a huge disappointment. i was hoping to not have to use a box of any kind but will have to go back to apple tv. the smart hub is so bad that when you turn the tv on it will only default to their smasung channels which blasts some nonesene game shows or bad tv. i use youtube tv for programmining and have to go in and load each time which is slow. app tiles are small and hard to distinguish which app is highlighted. i have a tcl with roku tv that was cheaper, runs faster, has a much better interface with infinately more configuration, etc. really expected more from samsung. i just picture a group of design people sitting around a presentation of this “smart hub” interface and being impressed enough to approve it....wow.

Bad quality, software issues, just excuses…

took this out of the box, plugged it in, hooked up firestick, worked for 1 day. tv will not start up again. disconnected everything, tried hard reset, 4 hours of troubleshooting and nothing. just like all the other reviews here, big issues with software not allowing the tv to start, no hard controls to do a hard reset, just this useless smart remote. all of these folks can't be wrong, it's just non existent quality control, cheap components for a fast buck, bad support. hugely disappointed………this was a birthday gift from my son.

TV is fine, software is not.

bought the tv almost one year ago to the day (nov 30th, 2020). the tv is now stuck and say it needs updated by a usb drive. i've tried over and over to put the current firmware onto a usb drive and to get it to repair or reboot and apply it. no luck and samsung support hasn't been able to help so far. pretty annoying that a firmware update that should be taking place in the background somehow is corrupt? can't even change inputs to roku or a game system.

Was great, lines kept appearing on the screen

I bought this TV in 2020 and it was a good bit at first. I use my TV for watching shows, YouTube, and a lot of gaming. After a while, I noticed a horizontal line forming in the middle of the screen. Fast forward and there are now 4 horizonal lines across the entire width of the TV. I ended up putting it in my office because I could NOT have those lines on my main TV. (As I went to take pictures for this review, 2 more faint lines have appeared)

You Get What You Pay For...

I gave this 3 stars as the TV functions as it should and it's my fault that I didn't do my homework. It was the last one left at the store I was at a couple days ago and the last one in my area. It was a good price, so I jumped on it. I was under the assumption that all 4k TV's were running at 120 hz at this point - had no idea new 60hz TV's were still being made. I kept messing with the picture as my nearly 11 year old 1080p 240hz Samsung 55 in. looked better. Well, that 240hz is why. When I read the specs online I was shocked to see the refresh rate at 60hz ('motion rate 120' is just gimmicky buzzword speak to sell low grade TV's like 'blast processing' was used to sell Sega Genesis for those old enough to remember). I still love Samsung, and I will be getting a better TV from the brand when I can. If I had known the refresh rate was only 60hz I would have never considered getting this (really wish the store I was at had the full specs on the product card... But yeah, my fault). If you don't play video games or aren't super picky when it comes to image quality in movies, this TV is fine. If you do play games and are concerned about image quality in your movies well, with electronics you get what you pay for.

Good Screen Resolution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a very nice smart TV with reasonable price and good quality pictures. I really enjoy watching shows and movies on this TV. The only thing that I believe it's missing. The voice command on the TV remote control.

Picture was great for one day

This TV had good picture for 24 hours and then the picture had a purple/pink hue. And no Samsung, per your suggestion to every bad review, there is no firmware update available for my TV. As per other reviews a reset has temporarily resolved the issue but I will be returning this TV tomorrow.

Great picture

picture is awesome. took some getting use to be ause it is so clear. only reason i gave it a 4 star is because of the remote. for some odd reason they did not have it light up. i keep having to turn on the light to use the remote. doesn't that seem odd. even the cheapest of the tv's come with remotes that light up. oh well, the tv was a gift so i can't complain too much lol.

Hi CallMeCarl, We are sorry to hear that your Samsung TU7000 TV is no longer working after two years. Samsung prides itself on high-quality products and a great customer experience. Please know we are here to help you. If your TV has a black screen even when it's on, it's quite possible it could actually be your external device and not your TV. Please try these troubleshooting steps for your blank screen issue: 1. Press the Home button on the remote. If the menu appears, the TV is powered on but is either not on the correct source or not receiving a signal. If the menu does not appear, the TV may be having power issues. Check the red standby light, a little red light at the edge of the TV that you aim the remote at. In normal use, the red standby light is on when the TV is off (indicating the TV is on standby), and the red standby light is off when the TV is in use (or doesn't have power). 2. Confirm the TV is set to the same source as the external device. For instance, if your cable box is connected to HDMI 1, set the TV source to HDMI 1. If the TV is set to the correct source but there is still no image, unplug and reconnect the AV connections one cable at a time from both ends of each cable. If there's any damage to the cable, it will need to be replaced. After you've reconnected the external device, turn it off and then back on. 3. Test the HDMI cable. Some TVs have an HDMI cable test. Some models only have this test after a software update, and older models do not have it. If your model does not have this test or is not connected by HDMI, skip to the next step. The test is designed for HDMI cords less than 6 feet long and may not give accurate results on longer cords. To perform the test, make sure the TV's source is still on the HDMI setting for the cable you want to test, and then navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test. If the test says, the cable is bad, replace the cable. Service is not required. 4. Test different external devices. The final thing to rule out is the external device you're using. Try connecting a different device or using a different source port. If you were unable to test the cable in the previous step, then try swapping the cable, too. If the TV can display a picture in any other setup, then you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working and troubleshoot or replace it. If you continue to have issues, please give us a call so we can troubleshoot further with you. Contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: 1) LiveChat with an agent 2) Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info ~ Samsung Advisor
