Seat and seat back

I have enjoyed the kayak during several outings. Be aware the seat is not that comfortable and the cheap plastic strap attachments break easily. Love the rod holders! Cup holder and water bottle holder not really functional. Items in hatch storage will slide around and get wet, so dry bags that fit will be needed.

I'm a newbie..

I'm a newbie to kayaking and also wanted to be able to fish. I bought the combo package ( 2 kayaks) and they came faster than expected. It seemed quite large but then it isn't when you're on it. It tracks fairly well..as far as I can tell. The "2 compartments" are actually just ports into the hull without a divider. The only other recommendation I would make is the information on the paddle size (cm) and if it floats. I have no clue what size it is, but it does float after testing. I added some floating ball scuppers that I'd seen on Youtube and they work perfectly. I'm hoping to have a lot of fun on them.

A LittleToo Soft...

This is a great kayak. it would be perfect with one exception. It is made from a type of material that gets soft in the hot sun. It is therefore easily damaged by J-Hooks(which I do not use! And I highly recommend avoiding the use of with this kayak! I use 2 foam, molded cradles,2 bungee cords front and back and 2 cam buckle straps), and the cam buckle straps that are commonly used to lash a kayak,or canoe, to the top of your vehicle. Mine was damaged in very early September of this past summer by the cam buckle straps that I use to lash it to the roof of my SUV.I don't lash it down very tight, just enough to keep it from wiggling side to side and from lifting up during high speed ,freeway travel. These straps loosened all on their own, thusly causing the damage by rubbing on the edge of the gunwale of my kayak as I drove home from Sonora,Ca. I found a solution for the problem, and after talking to the nice people at Lifetime, telling them of the problem, and my already worked out solution, which was approved by them (thank you, Alfonso, for your help!),I went ahead with a modification where I used some self-adhesive neoprene, 4 well nuts, and a 441 backing plate to make a protective barrier where the straps can go without damaging my boat. It's not pretty. Functional, but not pretty. Other than the above described issue, I find this to be a highly versatile and fun kayak. The storage, and inner hull access, are great. It has the best rod holder in its' price range. Tracking is great, thanks to the large hull skeg. I take it up and down the local river, where it does well in Class 2 rapids.I've also fished from it at a high altitude lake in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This lake is at 9,676 feet above sea level, only a few acres in size, but some 90 feet deep(according to the fish finder that I installed on the Angler). It's clear water fed from snow melt. It' home to some very beautiful Brook, and Rainbow trout. It's difficult to access due to the road being little more than a 4 wheel drive only goat path ! But it's definitely worth the effort it takes to get there. Overall, it's a pretty great kayak! And I love my Lifetime Tamarack Angler kayak!

Boat quality, customer service

I bought this kayak during the winter so I just got out the beginning of may . The boat tracks nicely and big enough for a 6’1” 235 # I’m really pleased. I did have the seat clamp diasappear I contacted customer service and the operator Justin was friendly & helpful I also inquired about buckets for the hatches, they sent me them free of charge. If you want a good deal I purchased mine at sams club the prices are quite reasonable. I highly recommend this kayak.

Awesome Kayak

I purchased this kayak after a lot of researching and could not be happier. For beginning into kayaking and kayak angling this is the kayak for you. I've been on mine 4 times going out again this weekend and haven't had any issue yet. This kayak looks better in person then online, and is really easy to use. The only con so far is the seat is a little uncomfortable (but for the price of kayak where I bought it easily can look over it) and the holes by the seat water likes to splash up so you will get wet (granted you are kayaking so this really isn't a huge issue just putting experience out). All together this kayak is a great starter if you wanna try kayaking and kayak fishing. Would HIGHLY reccomend this product.

Great Product and AMAZING Customer Service

We bought a pair of kayaks about 18 months ago to be used for casual kayaking and fishing. I was a bit apprehensive about the purchase because the price was suspiciously low for a pair of kayaks but still a major purchase for me (I think we got them on sale for around $750 for the pair). I have been VERY happy with the purchase and I was recently blown away by the customer service when I contacted Lifetime to purchase a replacement part. Chris helped me find the part and then told me it was covered under my warranty and shipped it out right away! I have been blown away by the product and the customer service! I definitely recommend Lifetime for the products and the service!

HIGHLY recommend this kayak

We have owned this kayak for a few months. This is our FIRST ever kayak. We have owned boats for years and love the outdoors. Once we decided to get a set we had no idea just how much we would use them. They are durable, very stable, very comfortable (we did add upgraded DIY seats) we are in the kayaks an average of 6-8 hours at a time so we changed the seats. Pros- stable (I added a rope to the stabilizer in the middle front and use it to assist in standing up to fish. I can reach behind me to get anything I need from the back without it flipping or tilting over. Fishing pole holders are very easy to get to and get poles in and out of. Cons- storage is open in the hull and it roles all over. We added containers to put things on so they don't go all over inside. cup holders need to be a little deeper, cups will fall out when getting in and out of the kayak but not a big problem. We have used them in lakes, rivers and rapids. Rocky bottoms or smooth sailing isn't a problem for these. We use DIY things to make our Kayak fit our needs depending on where we are at. Would love for them to have more extras for us to purchase. Overall you will NOT regret getting this kayak.

Inshore great fishing kayak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought two of these kayak in the last 3 years. I like the stability even if it gets a little rough. I've used it for several different things. I paddle it out with my crab pots to catch dungeonous crab with great success. Also I have used it as a dive platform for hauling my speargun and floats out to hunt for large cabrilla and snapper in Baja. I enjoy the rod holders and the bungee system that keeps my gear secure. I highly recommend this kayak.

Can't beat it for the money

I got two of these for my sons, 9 and 10. I didn't want to spend the money on a 12' for them because I didn't know if they would love them or not. My thought was that I would need to upgrade them in a year or two. These things are awesome! I'm 6' 230lb and I can totally use them. I should have saved more money and bought myself one of these!
