Love Lifetime Fishing Kayak

We just bought two of these and fish often in Santa Margarita Lake California. We get lots of bass and catfish, just yesterday 14 catfish. Kayak fishing is fun. We enjoy the water and silence vs a boat with a motor. FYI I flipped my kayak last time and lost two poles and a tackle box and my Lifetime rod holder, Lifetime replaced it! Great Company. Love their tables also.

Great Product and AMAZING Customer Service

We bought a pair of kayaks about 18 months ago to be used for casual kayaking and fishing. I was a bit apprehensive about the purchase because the price was suspiciously low for a pair of kayaks but still a major purchase for me (I think we got them on sale for around $750 for the pair). I have been VERY happy with the purchase and I was recently blown away by the customer service when I contacted Lifetime to purchase a replacement part. Chris helped me find the part and then told me it was covered under my warranty and shipped it out right away! I have been blown away by the product and the customer service! I definitely recommend Lifetime for the products and the service!

Great kayak

After about 10 trips out I feel like I can give an honest review of this kayak. First off, it is pretty stable and seems to be very tough. It’s light enough one guy can pack it but has handles on front and back as well as both sides for two people to carry. The rod holders are in a good position and the third rod holder is an awesome included feature. Plenty of storage front and back. The paddle that is included seems sturdy and I can really get the kayak moving with it. Tracking seems decent, I did find myself drifting to the left or right at times but overall is decent. All hardware seems to be installed properly. The seat for me is about a 7/10 as far as comfortability, it is adjustable. I would really recommend this kayak to anyone who is looking to purchase their first recreational kayak. Overall I really enjoy using it and it will be used on many more fishing trips!

I'm a newbie..

I'm a newbie to kayaking and also wanted to be able to fish. I bought the combo package ( 2 kayaks) and they came faster than expected. It seemed quite large but then it isn't when you're on it. It tracks fairly well..as far as I can tell. The "2 compartments" are actually just ports into the hull without a divider. The only other recommendation I would make is the information on the paddle size (cm) and if it floats. I have no clue what size it is, but it does float after testing. I added some floating ball scuppers that I'd seen on Youtube and they work perfectly. I'm hoping to have a lot of fun on them.

A LittleToo Soft...

This is a great kayak. it would be perfect with one exception. It is made from a type of material that gets soft in the hot sun. It is therefore easily damaged by J-Hooks(which I do not use! And I highly recommend avoiding the use of with this kayak! I use 2 foam, molded cradles,2 bungee cords front and back and 2 cam buckle straps), and the cam buckle straps that are commonly used to lash a kayak,or canoe, to the top of your vehicle. Mine was damaged in very early September of this past summer by the cam buckle straps that I use to lash it to the roof of my SUV.I don't lash it down very tight, just enough to keep it from wiggling side to side and from lifting up during high speed ,freeway travel. These straps loosened all on their own, thusly causing the damage by rubbing on the edge of the gunwale of my kayak as I drove home from Sonora,Ca. I found a solution for the problem, and after talking to the nice people at Lifetime, telling them of the problem, and my already worked out solution, which was approved by them (thank you, Alfonso, for your help!),I went ahead with a modification where I used some self-adhesive neoprene, 4 well nuts, and a 441 backing plate to make a protective barrier where the straps can go without damaging my boat. It's not pretty. Functional, but not pretty. Other than the above described issue, I find this to be a highly versatile and fun kayak. The storage, and inner hull access, are great. It has the best rod holder in its' price range. Tracking is great, thanks to the large hull skeg. I take it up and down the local river, where it does well in Class 2 rapids.I've also fished from it at a high altitude lake in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This lake is at 9,676 feet above sea level, only a few acres in size, but some 90 feet deep(according to the fish finder that I installed on the Angler). It's clear water fed from snow melt. It' home to some very beautiful Brook, and Rainbow trout. It's difficult to access due to the road being little more than a 4 wheel drive only goat path ! But it's definitely worth the effort it takes to get there. Overall, it's a pretty great kayak! And I love my Lifetime Tamarack Angler kayak!

Seat and seat back

I have enjoyed the kayak during several outings. Be aware the seat is not that comfortable and the cheap plastic strap attachments break easily. Love the rod holders! Cup holder and water bottle holder not really functional. Items in hatch storage will slide around and get wet, so dry bags that fit will be needed.

fun little fishing craft

Overall this is a great little fishing craft. Mine came with three of the scupper holes not entirely drilled through - a thin piece of plastic was still in place, which I knocked out with a long handled screwdriver. The holes were all marked with a yellow marker indicating that the issue was recognized but not dealt with. The front carrying handle was just a round plastic plug with no handle, but when I contacted the company and told them mine was missing they sent a new plug and handle no questions asked.

Great kayak

I bought this in mid May and have used it into August. It gets me into remote ponds with a strap-on cart. Put my pack on it and tow it for a few miles up a trail, pitch a tent, paddle out and catch dinner. Only complaint (and it's not really one) - the hull takes on a little water when left right side up in the rain. Fixed that with some plumber's putty on every screw that goes into he hull. I'm happy with it.

Nice Kayak

I just bought this and  took it home .very nice looking, love all the fishing pole holders. I was kinda disappointed in the fact that  all the drain holes were plugged with plastic, and not cut out all the way, and the dry storage parts had handfuls or plastic shavings. I am hoping it floats and sealed well, also that i can some how cut out the drain holes all the way .  I have seen so many good reviews and was a little sad to see the manufacture mistake letting a kayak leave like that. :(     over all cant wait to try it out and hoping the rest of it is as good as i heard about.

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for hubby who loves to fish and can't afford a boat. Comfortable to sit in forming periods of time. Has just enough room to carry his equipment. Bought a cart from lifetime also so he can roll it to the lake on his own. Of course we use it when the family goes out to play. Great quality!,
