We are a 4-cat household (one of whom is very finicky about his letterbox), and this product works great! We have 2 litterboxes in our den, and trust me, with just one scooping a day, and a cleanout once a week, there is nothing but a fresh and pleasant odor in the room. Very happy with it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a fresh step lover and what makes my kitty happy makes me happy. Loved the febreez sent and it definitely kept down oders. Almost made it feel like I had no pets and was told my house smells pet free. This cat litter is a must buy.

We have 5 cats in an apartment, so a good litter is a definite must. To make it more challenging, our main litter box is an automatic scooping one. We needed a litter that clumps, has great odor control, doesn’t track everywhere, is compatible with the litter box, and that the scent wouldn’t mess with my allergies. This litter checks all of those boxes! If I can’t find this litter I use the Fresh Step odor shield, but this one is by far my favorite.

I have purchased this item on multiple occasions - buying in bulk makes sense in our household. Fresh Step is the ONLY brand of cat litter I use...loyal customer 15+ years; won't use any other brand. No matter which Fresh Step product you choose rest assured it will exceed your expectations for odor control, clumping, and overall feline friendliness. This company knows cat litter! The reason for my review is to commend Fresh Step on the new design for the bulk packaging. I first noticed the new packaging a few months ago. The flat, pallet-style box contains four (4) individually wrapped bags of litter and is wrapped in a durable plastic - similar to the packaging of a flat of canned vegetables. It is easier the transport, sliding nicely upon the bottom rack of the shopping cart, than the previous bulky twin-box-set (although I did love the handles on the old design!). What I appreciate most about the new design is the smaller bags of litter - Fresh Step's continuous packaging updates reveal the care and thought which the brand puts into their products....not only for our purrr-babies but also for their caretakers, their human companions. When I hurt my back several years ago, the restrictions upon lifting items over 20 lbs. prevented me from purchasing in bulk as usual. Even the smaller containers were rough on my recovering spine. The inconvenience left me thinking of the senior citizens who purchase cat litter and struggle with the weight. I applauded the introduction of the light-weight line; tried it once, but returned to my bulk purchasing habits thereafter. With the new flat box packaging design, the smaller bags can easily be lifted and manipulated for easy pouring. Once the product makes it into the car trunk, the wrapping can be cut & the bags carried inside with less stress on your physical being! Reminds me of my elderly mother who rides around with a flat of water bottles in the trunk of her car & carries a few bottles up to her third-floor condo once a day. Thank you Fresh Step, as always, for the continuously striving to provide innovative, quality products which represent the dedication of researching & developing concepts with our feline friends in mind. To the cat companions: Get your daily dose of feel-good by assisting a senior citizen load their cat litter (or whatever) into their shopping cart while you're out buying your next package of Fresh Step - A little kindness goes a long way! Fresh Step is a brand of litter that we prefer. It clumps nicely, the cats all seem to like it, and it doesn't leave that "cat box smell". We seem to prefer the multi-cat scent: It's not too strong/overpowering, but enough to handle a couple of cats using the litter box, it's a little dusty when pouring it out, but seems to be less than other scents/brands. The cats do track it a little, but I've found pretty much every brand of litter will do that. Mats do help with that though.

We have been using it for 2 cats, and the funny thing is this: our 1 yr old cat, Ollie, loves to lay in it whenever we change the litter, he also loves the odor of Fresh Step with Febreze, here is a photo of our Ollie

I have multiple cats and everyone who has visited has remarked that they can't smell the cats, like they can in other peoples houses. I give all the credit to FRESH STEP!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] a few months ago my friend who owns only one cat came over to my house, and was floored that my litter box that 4 cats use had no odor at all. I showed her my fresh step febreeze box, and she went out and bought it that same night! This stuff really works!!

Great clumping, but I liked the previous version of the product--without Febreeze scent better. When my cats leave the litter box, they smell like perfume. I would prefer a more neutral smell or no scent. Why is everyone putting Febreeze scent in their products?
