My kids love this play set! We read reviews on the play set and decided to pay someone to put it together. Money well spent! The two guys who came out have put together thousands of play sets and it took them just under 7 hours to complete. The fort is large. I am 5'7" tall and I can stand inside the play set with room above my head. The play set comes with anchors for every post, so it is very stable. The set is perfectly still when all three swings are in use. The swings were pretty squeaky at first, but after my husband sprayed a little WD-40 on the hinges, they are completely silent. If you don't plan to use the sand box, I would recommend getting the little kit to add the extended porch. We didn't order it at first, but I plan to. FYI - when the set arrives, the slide is in pieces in one of the boxes. I thought it would come as one piece (like the ones I have seen at Home Depot), but it has to be assembled. One problem that we encountered while the guys were assembling the play set - we received one extra piece that we didn't need and we were short two small pieces from the back of the set. The pieces that were missing don't have any structural value, but it would have been nice to have all of the correct pieces. I will contact the manufacturer to have them replaced. Overall, we are extremely pleased!

I loved this play set initially as it combined swings, slide and monkey bars. We ended up paying someone to build it which I’d 100% recommend, but we’ve had it right at a year and I’m so incredibly disappointed by how much is broken/breaking - and it’s not from rough use. It’s simply not built to last.

Well it is a fort. We did get it finished. The directions are the worst I have ever seen. There is nothing to say which end of post are up or down. The illustrations are not clear to show boards go inside or outside of the rails,etc.etc. It was just re do after re do. I even had 3 boards that had to be trimmed so they would fit. When we put the roof on one side it was fine. The other side has a 5" space between roof and side wall. Just crazy.... After it was shipped I could track it until it reached main dock. Then no more tracking. It took 5 days till someone contacted me to set up a day for delivery.

We have had our skyfort2 put together for two weeks and boys love it. It took me about 6 days to put it together with help from my father-n-law for 2 of them and on cold days I would stop early. I have to admit I had fun putting it together. its kind of a big lego set. I read some of the review before I purchase and they had a lot of good advice. all the boards are lettered and numbered so you want to set all the boards out on the ground in order before you get started. A good screw-gun is a must if you are putting this set together (they provide the bits you will need)but not the drill bits I had to buy a 7/16th drill bit. I used a black-n-decore 20V lithium. I suggest putting the clubhouse together first because every thing connects to it , To me the slide was the hardest thing to put together. the playset is very sturdy it held me and I'm a big-O-boy 6'1" 265 so I have no problem with my boys being on it. this set is not going to be put up in a day but it is do able. Read the instructions several pages ahead, take your time and have fun with it. I hope this review is helpful.

Its a monster thats for sure! I guess i forgot to factor in all the ground work that needed to be done. And you will definently need at least 3people to help each day..about 3-4 full days. Sorting wood and parts can be a days work in its own. We received LOTS of split wood. Its so dry and cheap we will have to stain it this year too. We just finished building today. Started almost 2weeks ago but we only had 1good day of help and lots and lots of rain days. Directions were rather sketchy on some parts and we did have to take a prior step apart and redo. I will admit..if i didnt have to buy a ton of mulch for the 6inch safety rule i would have paid the $650 to have them come out and build it!

Either everyone else bought a different product or the one I bought came from a different manufacturer. The instructions are worthless, ie, asking to drill the wrong size holes (too small), noting to use the wrong size screws (too short), noting incorrect quantities (listing more pieces needed than it came with), etc etc etc. I'm a contractor and hold a masters degree and the instructions could have made it any more difficult. I would have organized the shipping better, labeled the items differently (used more letters for grouping and organizing) and machine drilled more holes (in lieu of asking the customer to do it). I hope seeing my son smile once I go buy extra screws and reinforce the structure will make up any regrets I may have for my purchase.

I had looked at building my own from pressure treated wood and for around 300 bucks more this kit was all pre-cut and a lot more detailed than anything I would have made. Assembly took about what the book said, 30 hours. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had all the fasteners and parts and had no issues with buying additional material. I assembled per the instructions and being an engineer, the drawings were easy to read. I could see where they would be difficult to eyeball though. The one thing I learned is follow the instructions. If it says space off something 1-1/2" then do it exactly. You'll pay for it later if you try to eyeball it. The kids love it and it's extremely sturdy and heavy. Looks like maybe 3 adults can stand upright in the for if that gives you an idea. It's expensive, but I think for the money it's a neat set. Get some friends to help sort the material first and that will help it go quicker. It took more time to find the parts than to actually put it together. It was definitley designed by an engineer with little thought put towards assembly and packaging. Great set.

What a great swingset! My wife and I worked together on this for a combined 40 hours. I'll list some of our "tips" that we used, or would use if we were to do this again in the future. #1) Sort out all of the wood pieces. This is vital to make sure you have all of the pieces, but equally important for ease of finding the pieces when it's time to put them together. We literally emptied out our garage and sorted the wood pieces by letter, placing them around our garage...it worked quite well. We noticed a piece was missing, and it was shipped to us within just a few days...great service! #2) We built the "base" in our garage, and then carried it out to it's final destination in our yard before anchoring it down. #3) 2 or more wood clamps REALLY helped us out. I would strongly recommend purchasing some if you don't have any. A big help... #4) We had a Dewalt cordless drill/driver with 2 batteries. We used both batteries on all 3 days that we worked on the project. We found ourselves using 3 different attachments for our drill. A) A phillips screw-driver attachment. B) A small drill bit to drill pilot holes (3/16" or so). C) A 3/8" drill bit to drill holes for the bolts. Having a second cordless drill with just the 3/8" drill bit would have been helpful for us, as we found ourselves switching that one out quite a bit. #5) We also had a CORDED drill/driver that we used only for screwing in the lag screws. This was very nice to have, as if we had used our cordless drill for these, I feel the batteries would have drained much faster. We used the cordless drill only to screw in the wood screws, to drill pilot holes, and to drill the 3/8" holes. #6) We used a simple ratchet with socket quite often to tighten the bolts. We felt it was nice to get a "feel" for how tight to get them, vs. using the corded drill which could overtighten the bolts and crack the wood. #7) We found a jig-saw helpful to us, but for a somewhat frustrating reason. We had to unfortunately cut a few pieces of wood that either didn't fit quite right, or were a bit too long, etc. We started with a sander to get pieces to fit, but ended up finding the jig-saw to be much quicker. #8) The screws, bolts, washers, etc. are very well labeled, which was awesome! We opened the little baggies very carefully so we could still read what was inside the bag. #9) We used a trailer pulled with our lawn mower to haul our tools and all of the screws, bolts, etc. In the morning when we were ready to work, we drove the garden tractor and trailer to the swingset and went to work. When we finished for the day, we drove the lawn tractor and trailer into the garage to protect our tools and keep the hardware out of the elements. This worked well... #10) My wife mostly got the hardware ready for me, got the pieces of wood ready, etc., and read the instructions. It worked pretty well...because you truly can only do one step at a time, so if two people were to try and work on this together, you would quickly run out of room... The time put into this project was worth every minute when we saw our 3 kids' eyes light up when they got to see it for the first time! We've researched a lot of swingsets and this one gave us the most bang for the buck. The kids have used it every day since we put it up! Enjoy! We sure are so far!

This could be a great playset if it was built with a good quality wood. The set came complete and was not too difficult to assemble overall. The quality of the wood was terrible, however. I had to set my drill to the lowest setting to keep from stripping the screw holes. During a strong thunderstorm about 8 months after assembly it cracked up into pieces and blew apart.

We have 5 kids ranging in age from 18 months to 9 years old. All of them love it! For the price, this definitely is one of the best play sets available. With regards to quality, the only negative that I have noticed is that the stain color is "skin deep". After having the set for only a couple of weeks, I have already noticed several places where the stain color is already wearing off (primarily on the steps leading up to the elevated play house). The color of the wood is lighter than the stain. This is not a big deal, it just makes me wonder how long the pre-finished stain will last. The biggest negative was the delivery. The man called the day of the delivery and informed me that he was driving an 18 wheeler. So is it just me or is it not ridiculous to use an 18 wheeler for a residential delivery? (BTW - The boxes could easily fit in the back of a pick up truck) He asked me if he would be able to turn around in our driveway or yard. Of course my answer was no. So I ended up having to meet him on the highway (we live in the country) in front of our house in a borrrowed truck to transfer the 5 boxes, then bring them back to our house. This may not be the norm, but I would ask to make sure when you schedule the delivery. We also chose to spend the exta money to have the swing set installed by the service offered by Sam's Club. Unless you just like the process of putting together hundreds of pieces of wood, metal, bolts and screws, then I would recommend going this route. It took one man working over 8 hours the first day and then two men working over 6 hours the next two days to finish putting it together. Knowing my skills at putting things together, we might have grandchildren before it would have been completely installed!
