It's huge. It has bigger kid appeal. It's beautiful in our yard. The neighbor kids are just as excited as ours. That said. The boards are thin. They creak when we adults have to get on them to build. The instructions are adequate in many places. Less than adequate in many others. I recommend keeping the foreign language instructions. Mostly you just need the pictures. I used the Spanish to look ahead to the next step and retrieve the boards and hardware needed, put washers on screws, etc. so it was ready to go when my husband finished the previous step. We also found one discrepancy on the crow's nest installation of L brackets, where the English instructions called for bolts and the Spanish called for lag screws. We went with the Spanish since the wood had been pre-drilled for lag screws. The English instructions left my engineer husband scratching his head on that one. Consult two sets of directions. This will take perseverance to build yourself. We have building and carpentry in our family background. If you don't, get some help or give yourself plenty of time. Our ten year old wanted to help. Although it's not recommended by the manufacturer, and two adults are absolutely needed in some places, we let him help with sorting the materials--you must sort materials before starting very well or you will spend a great amount of time searching for them later--and retrieving them, holding things down while we attached them, etc. We also let him help to put in some of the easier screws, pound t-nuts, etc. A good skill building lesson for a young man with very close supervision. Of course little ones want to help too, but that is not wise--even to have them around caused a lot of trouble and extra parenting. We gave ours the camera and made her the official photographer of our family project to enable us to work better without a babysitter. We have some odd 1,000 pictures or so of it all now--so clear your memory on your camera before you start. It took us about 6 days of work with interruptions. The neighbors took quite a few strolls around their yards with quick but obvious ganders over the fence trying to figure out what was going up. Just be prepared for interested onlookers. At this price point, it's a very good set. Just wish the floor boards and picnic benches weren't so thin.

I had looked at building my own from pressure treated wood and for around 300 bucks more this kit was all pre-cut and a lot more detailed than anything I would have made. Assembly took about what the book said, 30 hours. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had all the fasteners and parts and had no issues with buying additional material. I assembled per the instructions and being an engineer, the drawings were easy to read. I could see where they would be difficult to eyeball though. The one thing I learned is follow the instructions. If it says space off something 1-1/2" then do it exactly. You'll pay for it later if you try to eyeball it. The kids love it and it's extremely sturdy and heavy. Looks like maybe 3 adults can stand upright in the for if that gives you an idea. It's expensive, but I think for the money it's a neat set. Get some friends to help sort the material first and that will help it go quicker. It took more time to find the parts than to actually put it together. It was definitley designed by an engineer with little thought put towards assembly and packaging. Great set.

Well it is a fort. We did get it finished. The directions are the worst I have ever seen. There is nothing to say which end of post are up or down. The illustrations are not clear to show boards go inside or outside of the rails,etc.etc. It was just re do after re do. I even had 3 boards that had to be trimmed so they would fit. When we put the roof on one side it was fine. The other side has a 5" space between roof and side wall. Just crazy.... After it was shipped I could track it until it reached main dock. Then no more tracking. It took 5 days till someone contacted me to set up a day for delivery.

We bought this playset for our three sons, ages 2-11. It was delivered within 8 days of ordering it and we immediately inventoried all the wood (this is a MUST). Just as many reviews before mine, we found we were missing 7 boards. No problem, we called and they were shipped Fedx air, no questions asked. It took my husband (a strong but not so handy guy), my brother-in-law (a mechanical engineer), and myself (a not so handy girl) approx 18 hours to build this from start to finish. I won't say it was easy to assemble because it wasn't, even our engineer got confused by some of the directions. And most boards are poorly marked so I had to spend time figuring what they were based off their hole patterns and then marking them myself. I saved us a TON of time by doing some leg work in advance. I strongly recommend you sort the hardware into plastic, well marked bins and sort the wood based off page #'s, not part #'s. For instance, page 1 requires board H11, H3, H4, B1, B2, B3, H10.... so I had those set aside in a neat pile. I did that with every single page all the way through the book and it made everything fly by smoothly since no one had to stop to look for the next board, they were already sorted, organized and ready to go. This is the perfect job for a teenager or wife that wants to be helpful. I also took care of putting the lock and flat washers on the bolts so no one would have to pause to do that, another easy job for someone looking to help out. My kids absolutely LOVE this playset and are having a blast playing on it. There really is something for everyone and enough room so no one is in anyone's way. For the price you won't beat this playset, it truly is the best one out there.

This skyfort frees up some time in day for me to do things around home. My son plays until he tires himself out. Earlier bedtime!
