The salt required for a water softener is pretty basic and Morton salt fills the bill at a competitive price in nice packaging with handles. The super luxury of home delivery to the door is wonderful. I have back issues, and home delivery is a beloved luxury.

Morton Clean and Protect Water Softener pellets have worked great in my home softener. The large pellets make it easier to fill the softener, and the bag can be easily opened at a corner, where the edge tears off, creating an ideal way to pour the salt out.

If you have a well and live in an area with hard water, you need a water softener ... AND Morton Softener Pellets are what you need to soften the water and take care of that problem. Softened water means that it's harder to "suds up" in the shower - and when that happens, you just feel like you don't get clean. This is the only water softener salt we use. We have tried others that didn't last as long and didn't produce the same results. Hair and body is always soft and clean after showering, while not using as much soap or shampoo. My shower stays cleaner. Clothes washer doesn't need as much soap to get clothes clean. All around the best salt for your softener. Saves money on soap and purchasing this salt from Sam's Club saves more money at a time when things have gotten too expensive.

Bags have holes causing salt to leak out and make a mess in the car. Be careful when selecting the bags. If you do a pickup, then workers are not careful to avoid bags with holes and then they toss the bags into your vehicle getting salt all over the back of your car.

These work, of course. They've been around for decades, so they mush. I only wish they were sold in 25 pound bags rather than 40. (I'm 70) I've solved it by opening the bags on the floor and using a large scoop to dump them into the reservoir until the bag is about 25 pounds and I'm able to lift it up to the rim at about 6' from floor level.

The last couple times that we purchased this item, the salt was all crumbled and powdery. This creates a problem in the water softener tank.
