Customer reviews for SAMSUNG 85" Class AU800D-Series Crystal Ultra HD 4K Smart TV - UN85AU800DFXZA forLove this television
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in the process of switching out my Vizio tv's for Samsungs. This tv has made me realize I was watching tv wrong. The picture is so much clearer and being able to control it though my phone is awesome.
Amazing picture quality for the price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tv for the bedroom. Light enough to install on top of dresser. Work great with Wi-Fi smart tv features and connects easily with satellite tv box. Remote takes a bit of time to get used to but works great. Planning to use Bluetooth headphones capable in the future. I could not believe how light this tv is. Easy to lift up on dresser. Very impressed with the quality. I bought Samsung based on previous experiences with Samsung tvs and computers.
Huge improvements over our previous 2018 model
we previously owned a 2018 model (60") and because we not only watched it a lot in the evenings, but left it on during the day so our dog would have background noise. essentially it was on nearly 20 hours a day for 4 years. this 65" model was to replace that one. we were impressed by the improved screen resolution, thinner panel, lighter weight and the dedicated buttons on the remote were such a great addition. setup was easy and the sync with our wi-fi and all our existing streaming services was smooth. overall very pleased. we would have liked if it was on sale for maybe $100 less, then we would have given 5 stars for perceived value.
Bedroom TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best TV I have ever owned , we recently moved into a Mobile home and I have never had room for more then a 43 inch tv , the picture is awesome, Like watching alive feed all the time Thank You Samsung I also own a Samsung cell Phone !
Great picture, but a kitchen nightmare
i really love this tv but after i got it all set up with all of the streaming channels that i subscribe to, i discovered that when i turn it on it always defaults to something i didn't subscribe to you - it's always blaring gordon ramsey's “kitchen nightmares” or some trashy stuff that i would never watch. i think it's the “samsung tv” channel but im not sure where it's coming from. why can't it just be a silent screen when it comes on? i would love to get rid of that. basically, it creates an unpleasant experience every time i turn on the tv. imagine every time you turn on your computer that it started playing a video that you weren't interested in seeing, or that you actively disliked. that's the experience i'm having.

Great for what I am looking for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small room, so this TV firs nicely in it. The picture quality is great. My only real complaint is that sometimes, in order to use apps, especially YouTube, I have to do a hard restart. But it doesn't happen that often.
Nuggetman, Thank you for sharing your experience with the YouTube app. If your apps are freezing, not loading, or crashing, you can try cold booting your TV by holding down the power button on your remote for 5+ sec until the TV turns off and on again, deleting and downloading the apps again, and completing full reset of Smart Hub to correct the issue. Please also make sure your TV is running the latest firmware version. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website. ~ Samsung Specialist
Everything great just one issue
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only thing I don't like it's that my tv screen has some weird blots or brighter areas on the edges around the TV. I noticed it when I first purchased thought maybe it was the movie or had to settle in. But no. It's like the screen or projected. It doesn't loook bad but it is noticeable when watching movies that are more on the Darker setting for sure
Hi SamsungBetter, Thank you for your review of the Samsung AU8000 TV; we are happy to hear you are enjoying your TV. We are here to help, and I have a few troubleshooting tips that should help with your image quality issues. First, let's make sure your firmware is up to date. To do so, head to Settings > Support > Software Update. From there, you can easily update if needed. Next, 1. Run a Picture Test on the TV. Navigate to Settings, select Device Care, and then select Self Diagnosis. Select Picture Test, select OK and then view the test. You can choose Yes if the picture looks normal, No if there is a problem with the picture, or Show again to see the image a second time. 2. Determine if issues are appearing during the Picture Test. Look for issues on the screen during the Picture Test. If there are no spots or brighter areas, this means your TV is working fine. To identify and fix the issue, first, try replacing the cable of the external device that is showing lines. - If the spots still appear after replacing the cable, troubleshoot the external device. - If spots appear during the Picture Test, proceed to the next step. 3. Request service if spots appear during the Picture Test. If you see spots during the Picture Test, please visit our Support Center to request service. When calling, ensure you have the TV's model code, software version, and serial number. You can contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Samsung Televisions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture of this samsung TV is great. The sound of the TV is also pretty awesomeIt is really only one particular thing that I do not like about this Samsung television or should I say the 3 Samsung televisions that I do have are that when you turn them on it takes off a few minutes in order for you to use Netflix hulu or any other particular applications. But overall it is an awesome television andI will purchase it 10 times over.
