We had an old Roku for near 10 years but we had to replace it with an Apple TV since the old Roku device was too slow, could not upgrade firmware, and could not support Apple TV+. But recently I just realized the new Roku Streaming Stick has been out for a while and it does support Apple TV+. Meanwhile I do need a smaller streaming device for traveling to use, so I gave it a try. I thought even it’s not perfect but it won’t hurt for its much lower price. But surprisingly this Roku Stick is so portable, so tiny, so powerful and so simple to setup. And its remote is so easy to operate. My wife and I prefer to watch our Spectrum cable TV channels through the streaming service so we can just use ONE remote to switch from cable TV app to Apple TV+ app, Netflix app, Amazon Prime app, YouTube app and other apps. My wife has light dementia and she is always confused by the Apple TV remote and forgot where the right, left, and exit buttons are. But when we switched to the new Roku stick, she has no trouble to find all the buttons on the Roku remote. Now we are not just use this Roku stick during our traveling in the hotel, in the resort and especially on the cruise in our stateroom, but also we use it at home to replace the Apple TV. It’s a perfect streaming device.

I have used Roku in the past. This one it is so hard to turn it on. It must take 20 or 30 times to get it to work. I have two Roku TVs that are great but I need one for a non Roku TV. The next one I would get, will be the extended box instead of the stick.

Bought 2 of these back in December when we cut the cable. One worked just as it should, second one had Roku error 022 (which means defective & there isn’t anything you can do but return it). Replacement so far works as it should. It has some nice features like voice commands and the sheer number of apps it supports. One thing I think that NEEDS to be in the documentation is how to properly stop the streaming so your data doesn’t keep running in the background. We almost went over our 1.2TB data limit in less than 2 weeks! (and yes, the bandwidth cap limit option was checked in the settings). I do recommend these devices but be aware of the potential of getting a defective unit (our bad unit was assembled in Vietnam) and be diligent about stopping the streaming in the proper manner.

I had the original Roku device and was looking for something that wouldn’t be setting around on stuff so I decided to purchase the streaming stick. I’m glad I did!!! This streaming stick plugs into the HDMI and is completely hidden. The setup is super easy and the picture quality is great. I like how all my apps switched over without any problems. I’ll eventually purchase the 4k plus but for now this one provides everything I need in steaming shows.

Streaming Stick states, "No Signal - HDMI-1." "Check if the source device is connected and powered on. Or press the INPUT button to select the input for the source device." The previous stick had not problem with the exact same setup. Now I must select the OK button every time I turn the equipment on. Pushing the OK button is no big deal. However, I shouldn't have to select the OK button.

Picture quality is great. No latency issues. Easy set up. Peeves: Mute button is placed poorly. Too easy to press it when holding the remote. When pausing a show on YTTV, the device too quickly goes back to the Roku home page, causing you to have to reload what you were watching and losing your place. I would prefer the device to go into a screen saver mode preserving what you were watching.

We have an older 65" Samsung smart TV that had a limited amount of streaming app capability. Our daughter got us the Roku for Christmas and it brought our TV into the current decade! Tons of content and excellent quality of the stick and remote plus exceptional picture clarity. Our tv was top line when new so it rivals current tvs with the sharp picture from the Roku 4k. My rating would have been 5 stars if the pairing instructions for the remote were clear. The online help from Roku was an endless loop of Catch 22 - after a lengthy search of other forums, this is the trick - Reset the stick and tv to startup mode and begin the sequence. When it's time to pair the remote, hold it within 1" of the stick and press the pairing buttons and hold for 45 seconds. The remote will pair and you're ready to go!

Absolutely horrible. I just thought I would upgrade my previous roku stick that I have had for 5 years, with no problems other than a dead remote. It has worked great. The new one, a roku 4K streaming stick continuously disconnects, which means I have to go and disconnect the power, then reconnect the power, do it will work again. I tried all the suggestions I could find, which was to ho into system/power and uncheck the box that disconnects after 3 m0 minutes of no activity, but that did nothing. If this cannot be reasonably resolved by the end of the week, I am returning the device for a full refund, and my previously great experience with roku wii I ll be finished forever. Roku is selling an extremely defective product and needs to take ownership and replace the defective product with an operational device. The troku 4K streaming stick is s defective piece of crap.

Very pleased [so far] with the Roku stick... It provides a variety of channels from mainstream viewing to interesting movies that don't "break the bank." I highly recommend it for people looking to save money and who are on modest budgets. Thank you.

This product worked fine for a couple months. Then one day I went to use the remote and it stopped responding all together. I've tried re-pairing the remote, resetting the Roku, and power cycling everything. Nothing will work, and Roku doesn't provide an easy way to solve my issue. They even took over two days just to respond to a simple support request.
