So... I have been a long time user of an electric razor (using manual razors every now and then), and wanted to give the ProGlide Razor w/ Flexball Handle Technology a try. My first impression is that it truly does "glide" over your skin. It felt incredibly smooth, and did not require multiple passes to get a smooth shave. I was very impressed with how well the blades did. The verdict on the Flexball Handle is still out... it allows the head of the razor to swivel a small amount as you shave around the curves on your face. I tend to feel that it is more of a gimmick than it is functional and useful. Does it work, yes... is it an incremental improvement over a head that doesn't flex like that... not sure yet. I will continue to try it and see if it changes my mind over time. But, all in all, I got a really good shave with it.

When the fusion proglide came out, I couldn't imagine that it would be much better than my favorite razor, the mach 3 (and the turbo). It proved to be so much better, not the extra trim blades and such (although that was useful) but just how smooth and nice it was. The flexball handle improves on that, allow the razor to track better, attempting to lay flatter. While I think it's better then the standard pro glide it wasn't as much of a leap from the mach 3 -> fusion pro glide. But improvements are always good!

By far, the Fusion cartridge razors are probably some of the best. The problem is that for too long they have really just moderately changed the cartridges and considered it a major upgrade. So that is why I really took interest in the new FlexBall handle when I read about it. So when BuzzAgent was offering a trial of this razor, I jumped on it. I think everyone has used a Fusion cartridge by now. It's real nice and does a great job getting close. I've used them on various handles and it really all seemed the same. This isn't the case with the FlexBall. One of the nice things about cartridge razors is they allow the blades to go up and down to keep contact with the face. The FlexBall also goes side to side. This allows the cartridge to stay in contact with the face better. This allows for an effortless close shave. Like most guys, I have problems with certain parts of my neck. With a couple of passes, those trouble areas are smoother than they've ever been. And the shave took probably half the time as normal. The handle itself is well built. It's mostly metal, which gives it a good heft, but it's not heavy. It have a very nice rubber padding to give it a good grip. The only, extremely minor, problem I had with it was trying out switching blades. Because the FlexBall end allows the head of the razor to rock side to side, the new cartridge may not line up and click in as easily as other handles in the Fusion line. But again it's extremely minor and with no real effort you can re-position and get it to click right in. Recently I switched to using a vintage Gillette Ball End Tech safety razor. I probably won't be switching from that, mainly for cost reasons. I do keep some Fusion cartridges and a handle around in case I don't have the time to use my vintage razor, which is more fun. I'll be tossing out the old Fusion handle in favor of the FlexBall and will probably end up using it more. Especially for special occasions where I want to be really smooth.

If you are wondering about trying this blade then I say go for it. My first experience with the Gillette Fusion ProGlide blade is all positive. It is a very close and comfortable shave and the trimming blade is excellent for tightening up the lines around my mustache and goatee. I'm looking forward to using this blade again and again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been a fan of Gillette razors, ever since they sent me a free one for my 18th birthday, almost 18 years ago. I have had almost every version of starting with the Gillette Sensor Excel. Before I was selected to review the Gillette Fusion ProGlide with NEW FlexBall Handle Technology I was using the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power, which I loved. The Power pulsing handle made shaving more comfortable than I have experienced with a non-powered razor. What I like the most about the Gillette Fusion ProGlide with NEW FlexBall Handle Technology is how it feels in my hand. The handle is a solid metal handle, it feels great holding it compared to the ProGlide Power's plastic bulky handle. I think I prefer the Power over the new FlexBall Handle because I feel like I get a more comfortable shave. Don't get me wrong, The Flexball still gives a great, comfortable shave, but the vibrating handle makes it feel like it's gliding just a little bit better if you don't mind the bulky handle. If Gillette can figure out to keep the same handle on the Gillette Fusion ProGlide with NEW FlexBall Handle Technology, but give it power, it would be the ultimate razor.

I have used Gillette products for a very long time, but the Proglide razors with the blue strip on bottom of the razor is horrible. Not sure of the design purpose, but now I can't get a close shave like previous razor blades and going to look for other options. For me personally I shave my face and head, but because of this design blue strip can't get a good close shave and my wife has to help me shave my backside of my head now. Please bring the old razor blades prior to this blade series. Signed longtime user....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor with FlexBall is an excellent razor. Although I don't have a lot of facial hair to shave, it does a great job, is quick, does not cut me, and shaves very close. I couldn't ask for any more from a razor!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used the Gillette Fusion ProGlide several times now, and I can say that it is without a doubt the best razor I've ever used. The five blades do a fantastic job of removing all hair in one pass. There is a single blade on the back for touching up sideburns, etc. and it works great. There is a conditioning strip right above the blades as well as small rubber grooves just before them. The grooves help pull the skin taught ahead of the blades. This really allows for the blades to get close to the skin and make a smooth cut. The FlexBall surprised me as I didn't think it would make much of a difference. Boty, was I wrong! The FlexBall really help conture the blade to my jaw and allows for better control when transitioning to different parts of my face. (i.e. from the cheeck to the jawline, to the neck, etc.)

I received the "Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor with Flexball Handle Technology" in the mail about a week ago, and I was instantly skeptical. For the past few years I have been using the Gillette Fusion Power, to shave both my head, and my face. Even though I was also skeptical of THAT razor when it came out, the power/vibrating aspect seemed to keep my from getting nicks and cuts all over my head. For those of you who have never shaved your head, once you get those little nicks and cuts all over your scalp, moments later you need to throw some after shave on there, and it feels like wearing a speedo cap made out of africanized killer bees. When I started shaving my head 17 years ago, I was using the Shick Tracer, which was ousted by the Gillette Mach III, which was ousted by the Gillette Fusion Power. In between I have tried the headblade and a few others, (even tried to "Nair" my head in an unfortunate incident) but since the Mach III came out, Gillette razors have done the best job. I first used this razor after kickboxing before work. Little did I know, the clock in the gym was off by 20 minutes, and when I entered the locker room and checked my phone I was running 20 minutes behind. I was already concerned about hacking up my head with this thing, and now I was doing it immediately after sweating for an hour with no cooldown, and running late AND I would have to do it quickly. My head was sure to look like some disgusting slide from 10th grade health class when all was said and done. I dragged this razor over my scalp with RECKLESS ABANDON, shaving off 5 days of growth on my head. At first I thought it wasn't working because I couldn't feel anything, but after checking the mirror, all I saw in those spots was skin. The hair was gone. This was easily the most comfortable shave I've ever had. Not one nick. Shaving my head is usually a 5-8 minute process and I did this one in 2 minutes, with shaky hands from the heavy bags, and it was awesome. I don't know about the price or anything, or to be honest if it has even been released yet in stores, but I refuse to use anything else from here on out. This was close, comfortable, and I was able to do it way faster. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially my brothers in baldness.

Before trying this product, I would refrain from using razors. My neck would get irritated and bumpy within minutes after shaving so I have always used an electric shaver. This razor was very smooth and moved flawlessly throughout my neck and was the smoothest shave that I have ever had. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for that real, close, and comfortable shave!
