Now this is good coffee

I just got a Keurig this past week and have been trying a variety of coffees, teas and cocoa. There is a lot of variety, which is nice, but so far only a few that I have tried have been real stand-outs. Newman's Special Blend Extra Bold is one of them. This coffee has a very smooth taste and great flavor - like you just poured a cup from a fully brewed pot. Most of the k-cup coffees I've tried have been weak or slightly off-tasting. I wont talk about the cocoa I tried here. That deserved its own review. However, this coffee, in addition to being organic, is really a great cup of joe. I have not yet enjoyed a better k-cup coffee. I highly recommend Newman's Own Extra Bold to those who enjoy rich tasting coffee.

This is why I love the sample pack

I probably never would have given the Newman's Own K-Cup a second glance if it hadn't been included in the sampler pack that came with my brewer, but it ended up being one of my favorites. The flavor and body are exactly what I expect from a cup of coffee, and the roast suits my taste perfectly - on the dark side, but without being charred beyond recognition. This is definitely going to be one of my stand-by K-Cup choices.

Ruined What was once great!

I don't know why this site keeps hiding the reviews it already had. I can't see them at all. It says there are 42 reviews but they are hidden from public view. This coffee was once great and then they got greedy. Comparing an old pod to a new pod it CLEAR that they add a 3rd LESS coffee in each pod. I can see when I hold it up to a light bulb. They might have switched beans too because it's now weak and doesn't have the same flavor. It's just awful! PLEASE don't spend your money on this. It's AMAZING how they still label it on this site as "Extra Bold" that's just down right comedic and a flat out lie.

Even a coffee novice likes it

I never drank coffee until my 40's, gradually became a dark/bold coffee lover. This has a great taste without any bitterness and can hold it's flavor even with Hazelnut creamer. My teenager, new to coffee, has taken to Paul Newman's extra bold, now I have to buy more since he's drinking it, too :)

Is something burning?

I started brewing a cup and then wandered off. Minutes later I thought to myself "Is something burning?" Then I remembered to fetch my coffee. I had high hopes for the newmans own since it's fair trade and whatnot, and I'll admit I'm new at the intricacies of coffee but I'm not a fan. It was good enough that if I had more that had came in a variety pack I would drink the rest, but I wouldn't order it on its own.

Great "everyday" coffee

After reading the reviews, I can say that I understand why some people who like bold, strong coffees aren't into Newman's Special Blend. It's a bold, strong coffee for people who don't really want a truly bold, strong coffee. I love coffee, but have never been a big fan of Joe Mugg's or Starbucks (not that either are really that strong), preferring McDonald's or Duncan's to them. Newman's is a great everyday coffee for those who want something just a little stronger and more flavorful than your medium roast Maxwell House or Folger's brews.

Smooth

Coffee taste is so unique and individual. I agree that if you want that strong bold taste this might not be for you, but for me, I get just the right amount of flavour I want. Depending on the strength I want, or the time of day, I will sometimes use the 8oz or the 10 oz cup to adjust the flavour.

So/So Cup of Coffee

Received this K-Cup with my purchase of a brewer. Not overly impressed with this coffee. Not that it is bad mind you, I simply would not buy it, however, did drink the 12 K-Cups I received for free! If you are looking for a solid medium roast with good flavor and complexity I would recommend the Nantucket Blend over this one.

Not the Same

When they changed the packaging lid cover, they changed the blend. I loved the original. It was full bodied without ANY bitter taste. This one, to me has a very bitter taste that lingers. I will not drink it anymore. My husband say's it's a bit bitter but he doesn't want to through it away. If it was just me I'd pitch it. We will not be purchasing this one again.

super smooth flavor

First and foremost, to be able to enjoy a cup of coffee as good as this, and be able to know that a large portion of what you paid for it goes toward "hole in the wall gang" started by Paul Newman, for kids with terminal illness. That in itself is just as heartwarming as the first sip!
