Great Product

I purchased this product and planned to work on it during Spring Break. It came in 4 boxes and each weighed about 200 lbs. The instructions says to have two people available to put it together, but I was able to do it by my self with a little help from my six year old. I found the instructions to be simple to understand and everything worked as planned. It did take me longer than I had planned to put it together, but it wasn't hard to do. Two pieces came broken in the box so I registered on their website and inserted the part number and the parts arrived a couple days later free of charge no questions asked. My child loves the play set so far and has played on it every day.

Pay careful attention to instructions.

If you like giant erector sets, this is your cup of tea. Instructions for the most part are pictures, so pay close attention to where holes are and the direction they face. The other tidbit I would offer is use a square. It took time but got built. My grand daughter loves it, which means it was worth it.

Great buy

A great value! We purchased this almost 2 years ago and we love this set. It is definitely a set that can grow with the children because of all the different types of play it offers. It has proven to be a hit with many kids at a time during playdates. It does take a weekend to assemble, but it’s well worth it. There were only a couple of pieces (1 board and 2 hardware pieces that were missing) and the company was easy to talk to and quickly shipped the parts. The only maintenance I do is annually spraying it with Thompson Seal!

Legos for grown ups

I put this together by myself in about 26 hours. I am a builder/trim carpenter so I certainly had an advantage, but the directions were great and all the parts and pieces were there and clearly labelled. Some advice though: 1.) I spent about 3 hours unpacking and organizing everything in my garage. I highly recommend sorting all the wood by letter (each board is stamped). Also, I dumped out 2 large screw storage boxes and used them for organizing the fasteners. Cutting the label off the bag and sticking it over the corresponding compartment helped a lot! 2.) start in a garage if you have one. But don't forget to move it out before it's too heavy (or too tall) 3.) there are a lot of small pilot holes and varying hole patterns on the wood pieces, be sure to orient therm correctly or you'll be forced to rebuild or measure and drill your own. That's it, it really was pretty easy, just follow the directions and you'll be fine. It's like Legos for grown ups; I actually had a lot of fun building it.

Awesome — until Mother Nature hit!

This Skyfort is wonderful and quite solid. This 68-year-old grandma put it together with only a little help. It took me a week though. I finished it on Saturday, and my 3 and 6-year-old grandchildren loved it. Their joy was short lived, though, because a massive storm with high winds swept through Dallas on Sunday and uprooted a huge tree that fell on the entire playhouse and crushed it. It was completed less than 24 hours. All of us are devastated but grateful that the Skyfort kept the tree from landing on the house. My children and grandchildren are safe, albeit without gas and electricity for probably several days. This is hard to explain to two little ones. I’m not sure what we’ll do next. Even if I can figure out how to buy this playhouse again, I don’t live in Dallas and don’t know when I could put another one together. Maybe we’ll figure it out. Two crying grandchildren are rather motivating. Thanks also for the BILT interactive software. I loved it. It made assembly so much easier.

Lots of Fun

This has been a great purchase for our kids they love it. I have been looking for a long time and for the price you can't go wrong. Not olny do you get the swings but also the monkey bars and in this playset they are on opposite sides so now they can do both. The only down fall is it takes two men about 24 hours to put it together.

Great swingset with reservations

I bought this a few months ago but just now finishing up putting it together. Love the that all the nuts and bolts were clearly marked in their respective bags. Made it easier to put together than guessing what size screws they were. Some of the hard fasteners and screws were deformed and not usable, although I found extras in the bag. Some of the woods was softer than others and the screws went deep when using a drill. Others the screws would just spin and would not hold the board. This was prevalent in the crows nest. I also had boards spilt (J1 crows nest) so the crows nest is off limits until I can replace the 2 J1 boards and some of the sides posts on the crows nest. One of the picnic table boards will need to be replaced as it split pretty bad, I haven't connected the slide yet the way it fastens to the deck (the slide material) leaves me a little worried. I would recommend fastening the 2 side frames to the deck as well. The swing set balancing on a small ledge is scary. I plan on adding an additional and thicker board to help support the swing beam. Overall I think the wood should be a bit thicker. Since the wood is not treated I sat the main body on top of pressure treated 2x6s. I was disappointed that the wood is not sealed and I needed to weather proof the wood. Some of the boards were warped or bowed in such a way the did not sit flush on other boards. There were several steps in the build I held off because I knew I would need to adjust them to ensure other parts fit. I would also recommend adding an additional bar to the monkey bars as the first one is a little far for the younger kids. with an additional bar, it would also place the one next to the fort a little closer so the kids don't need to grab the wood frame. I am afraid that one may crack after a while. Having all the parts marked was a tremendous help and I would recommend separating the parts by steps, so you are not hunting for parts as you put them together. I found it easy to put together and I did the majority myself. Definitely need an extra hand putting the swing beam and monkey bars in place. Also Este delivery was awesome and went above and beyond delivering right to my garage over a 130" driveway. My grand kids are super excited and had already started testing it out. I know they will have loads of fun as soon as I finish up the last details. They are anxious for me to give the green light on the crows nest. Definitely a great looking swing set with lots of activities. I will add photos after fully complete.

Kids love it!

We bought this approximately a month ago and we absolutely love it! The only downfall was the building process. Shew, it was a doozy! We did have one board under the picnic table where after two weeks of play the screws broke in half. It didn’t break the board, just the screws. We have since replaced it. The kids play on it almost daily though so it will still pay off!

This Skyfort is great, my grandkids love it. Well worth the money and time to put it together. Took 4 of us to put it together in a weekend. Don't rush it, read the directions. Lay all the boards out and hardware separating them by "letters" & "numbers" makes it a lot easier. If I needed to I would order another one today !!!

Excellent Playground

When we decided that we wanted to purchase a playground for our children we didn't know where to begin. When we did finally decide to purchase went with the Skyfort II, our only concern was when the carrier left one of our 5 cases containing our slide somewhere and we didn't get our slide for 4 weeks after the other 4 cases. trying to deal with The retailer we got it from was a nightmare but Backyeard Discovery stepped in and made it happen, Thank you very much. This is an amazing playground thank you Backyard Discovery for building an amazing product.
