Like the idea, but didn't work

Unfortunately, every reading was crazy high. We finally figured out that the monitor was twenty points higher than it should have been. We took the monitor to a doctor's appointment where they confirmed that the Index readings were too high and didn't match the readings in the office. In addition, we have an Omron BP monitor that also had normal readings that matched the doctor's office readings. The concern with the Index stating that our blood pressure was twenty points higher, could have led to unnecessary mediction. While we really liked the idea of the Index, the device didn't work as advertised.

Another part of the health & fitness puzzle solved

Activity trackers, on body sensors, the connected scale now this! A blood pressure cuff that automatically drops your readings into a single health and fitness app! Love it. Maybe they'll work on a lactate sensor next? Now in my 50's my doctor asked to track my blood pressure. Plenty of connected devices out there but then you have to link apps and deal with all the headaches. This connects directly to your network, uploads the readings to Garmin Connect and you can easily track them in the single location.

Accurate monitor

I found it hard to pair initially as I also did with the scale. Maybe it's me but I usually don't have these kind of problems. Also difficult to add a person. I finally gave up on that. Need to be able to do something with the extra cuff if you have smaller arms. My wife had difficulty putting it on her arm. The good and the reason I bought it is once it is paired it syncs well with Garmin Connect. I doubt I would buy this product again

Very easy to use and accurate readings

Seems very accurate. It's right on par with a high end Omron I have. The Garmin is much smaller and easier to use. I wish it had a rechargeable battery, but other than that it's a great tool. Nice that it keeps track in the Connect app. Makes it easu to share the info with my doctor if needed.

Accuracy is lacking

I thought this would be a nice upgrade from another B/P cuff I've been using for years, and thinking it would be nice to have my B/P showing up in Garmin Connect. However, readings on the BPM Smart Blood Pressure Monitor were so much higher, I began comparing reading, when I say higher, I mean at least 20 points higher on the Systolic. The reading on 1/29 the reading was 202/101 with a pulse of 142 and I was, supposedly in Hypertensive Crisis. The reading from the old cuff was 139/83 with a pulse of 54 (this was after drinking coffee.) Readings from the old cuff are similar to those taken by my PCP. There are times when the readings between the old cuff the BPM are close, but not often for me to consider it accurate.

Simple, reliable and easy to use

I have been using the monitor for about five weeks now. Setup was quick and easy. I adjusted the cuff only once. It is nice that, after that initial the initial setup and adjustment, the cuff neatly folds into a small package. No tubes or cables. I programmed my user name, paired it and now I take my blood pressure daily in the afternoon. I always use the 3-test function. As a bonus, I now have the date together with all my other health and fitness data in Garmin Connect. I have had and used a handful of Garmin products over the years. This is the most straight forward, well designed one of them all.

So far, reliable, accurate and convenient

Bought the BPM unit about 3 weeks ago. Easy to use and measurements are comparable to other units I access. This unit has the added pluses of convenience and documentation. The documentation feature was quite valuable in demonstrating to my provider that my current BP management regime was falling short of target and required adjustment. Needless to say, the BPM unit is worth every dime I paid for it.

Completes the Garmin Universe

Friends brought me the device from the US to Germany and I am so happy to have very good and almost complete accessories to monitor my fitness and heart health now. All that's missing is a coming new fenix 8 with ECG function, and I'm completely happy...

Highly variable readings

Two weeks in and I'm concerned that the device is not very accurate. I have another BP monitor that I've been using for quite a while. I get ridiculously high readings with the Index monitor and lower readings with the old montor. I can test with the Index just a few minutes after a high reading and get a wildly different reading a few minutes later. It does work great as far as connecting and transferring data to Connect.

Garmin delivers again!

I have my own BP cuff at home. It's merely serves the purpose for measuring BO and pulse. My new Garmin BP monitor integrates the information into Garmin connect which is awesome! I used to enjoy the data I'd receive at the HIGI station at the store because it would track your measurements and enable you to send it'll the information to your PCP. Since the pandemic closed down these stations, I basically stopped paying attention to my BP. Now with this added Garmin Device, I'm able to resume at the convenience of my home. IT's accuracy seems spot on, as it compares to my other test measurements obtained from other BP devices. Garmin delivers again!
