I think something's wrong with mine

I hope it's just software and an update can fix it. I always get an "X" when it tries to sync, but the info ends up in my Connect app. I don't have confidence that it is accurate either. The readings often vary huge amounts (between arms; and multiple sequential readings).

Typically Garmin, works perfectly as promised!

I have had the Index BPM for a bit over two weeks. It works perfectly, takes an accurate measure of my blood pressure, and transfers it via WiFi directly to my Garmin Connect Mobile on my iPhone. The readings also appear on Garmin Connect on my computer with a convenient graph to help compare readings over time. I have the option which I have used most time I use it to do 3 readings and then report the average. I like this since I have found that the first reading is frequently high while later readings taken at the same time tend to be lower. This is a nice option since it can be activated quite easily, and saves having to restart the procedure following the first reading. All in all, I could not be more satisfied with the purchase and do recommend it to others.

Another Garmin Product folded into the Fam!

I got this after a BP scare after a trip to the ER! Overall, it has been easy to use, and the fact that I can fold it into the Garmin Connect ecosphere is a bonus that I hadn't expected. Once set up, you can do a quick (one recording) or a longer test, which takes three recordings over 3-4 minutes. You also can generate a helpful report online, which impressed my GP. Similar to the Garmin Scale, you can add multiple users, and my wife was able to add herself and then gloat over her lower BP!

Refuses to connect to WiFi

Perhaps it is faulty, and it looks like I will be returning it. I cannot get it to connect to WiFI. It works like any other BPM but I bought it for its capacity to record my details automatically and be a part of the details gathered by Garmin Connect. But it doesn't do the bit I bought it for.

So far it reads exceedingly high

Have taken my BP many times over the past 2 weeks and it is consistently high, like really high. According to it I am constantly having a stroke. I went and compared it to the one at the doctors office and my BP was perfect 121/82. Took my BP with this immediately afterwards (while in the doctors office) and it read 190/145.

Blood pressure monitor is good - the scale is awfu

I bought this about a month ago and find it to be very accurate and easy to use. It syncs seamlessly with my phone. I also bought the scale and after the first one shattered and put glass into my leg, they sent me a second one, which didn't work. The scales are less than worthless and a danger to you.

Blood pressure monitor

Really pleased I bought this. Had to buy it from America as Garmin don't make it available in UK yet. Works so well with the GC App. Only issue I have is that the American scale does not correspond to what is acceptable on the British scale. If you can live with that, it's another great Garmin product. Very well made.

Accurate & Convenient

Have used daily for about 1 month & am happy with the Index BP monitor. Previously I used a battery operated unit with a separate cuff which worked fine, but was cumbersome with the tubes & harder to pack away - so much so that I never travelled with it. The Index is definitely easy to pack & use anywhere. I've found it accurate with repeatable measurements. Other reviewers report otherwise, but I suspect they may not be using the unit as requested by Garmin. I get the most accurate measurements as follows: 1. Use early in morning after getting up but before any meal or exercise. 2. Place cuff on arm then sit motionless with slow steady breathing for at least 6 minutes before starting unit, feet flat on the floor, sitting up straight, cuffed arm resting on table or arm of chair, cuff at level of heart. I don't have a conversation or try and use a mobile device etc. The idea is to let your heart rate and BP stabilize at a true resting state. If you're into meditation this is a good time! 3. I use the 3 reading average setting and remain motionless breathing deeply for the whole 7 minutes or so that takes. Note that a whole measurement cycle - 6 minutes for stabilizing and 7 minutes for 3 reading average will take about 15 minutes. If I don't have time for that, I don't take a measurement that day. I'd rather have fewer good accurate readings than more inaccurate readings influenced by variable levels of activity. None of those techniques are specific to the Garmin Index. It's simply what is required to get accurate baseline data of blood pressure. Heart rate and BP vary continuously during the day with changes in activity, posture and position so the most accurate measurements keep all of those factors constant. The only improvement I'd like to see would be powering the unit with its own lithium battery pack recharged with a USB 3 connector. I can get around that with Pale Blue USB rechargeable cells, but it would obviously be more convenient if the Index had it's own internal USB chargeable pack.

Great BPM

I love my Garmin BPM! It is easy to use and compact for travel. The BPM can track multiple people and automatically downloads results to Garmin Connect account. This feature simplifies track vital health info. The multiple BP and averaging results feature is praised by my Doctors. I love my Garmin devices!

Grossly inaccurate

At first I thought my BP was dangerously high so I got out two of my old pump BP devices and they were both nearly identical in readings and a total of 30-40 points lower than the Garmin.I tried two different arms and multiple positions and always way higher than a regular pump BP arm cuff. Not sure if this is a defective unit or not but NO way would I recommend anyone buy this.
