Great Device But Setup Issue

Set up the Index BPM device for myself, works great! Went to add Index BPM device for a secondary user ... the manual says: 1) From the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone, follow the on-screen instructions to invite secondary users. 2) From the secondary user's smartphone, accept the email invitation, and follow the on-screen instructions. So I did those things. Then on the secondary user's phone's Garmin Connect app, I go to the Garmin Devices page, at the top of the page it lists the Index BPM, but at the bottom of the page it has a section that says "Registered to Garmin Connect" along with an entry for the Index BPM along with an enabled push button to "Add Device" ... clicked on that which led to trying to Bluetooth connect the Index BPM to the secondary user's phone. After about 6 failed attempts to Bluetooth Pair the Index BPM to that phone, I call Garmin Support ... turns out you should NOT try to "Add Device" (for the Index BPM) via the Garmin Connect app on the secondary phone. The Bluetooth connection is just for the primary user to configure the device. Turns out, data from the Index BMP is uploaded to Garmin Connect via WiFi. So don't be fooled by the enabled "Add Device" button on the secondary user's Garmin Connect app, just accept the Invite and leave that button alone.

Buggy and extremely frustrating

Not worthy of the Garmin name. A disaster as far as BP monitors go. The bp monitor does not synch most of the time with my Garmin Connect app which was the only reason I chose to purchase it. I have re-installed the device three or four times, but it does not work any better. Do not waste your money on this item.

Heavy, clunky, not a good value

First, for the cost of this unit there should be rechargeable battery's! The arm band can be a two hand operation to adjust. My arm is not big so the width of the strap tends to dig into the elbow joint. On the plus side sending the readings to Connect makes it more palatable for the price. Also the multi user feature is nice how it sends my wife's readings to her Connect as well.

BPM no longer syncs over wifi after latest upgrade

I've had the unit for about 18 months and it worked great for myself and my wife. After the latest software upgrade it no longer sync over wifi. Because I set it up, I can still sync to Garmin connect over bluetooth, but my wife is not getting her BP data. I've tried the steps to yank the battery to force a reset and upgrade, but it did not work.

Expensive, and Connectivity Helps with Tracking

This is an expensive way to take your blood pressure, but the ability to have it automatically upload to Garmin Connect and then track your numbers over time is helpful. Could you do the same with a pen and paper? Sure, but that's not why you're looking at this. The results seem consistent and accurate. If you're in the Garmin ecosystem and want to add blood pressure to the data info you collect, then this can be a great tool.

Great idea if it would work as expected

I would give it a one start. This blood pressure doesn't communicate well with software. It also send false information on random times of the early morning . It was very difficult to add my fiancé and retrieve his information, when it did it came with false information. I included the BP false information that send to my connect and my fiancés connect. His was send at 1 am and mine at 5 am neither off us took our blood pressure at those times. I love my garmin devices and was really hope that this BPM would work for us . As I'm trying to come up with a whole body health program for my family. It is disappointing not to be able to get the information needed. It sucks the you don't have a customer service I could talk to . It would be nice to be able to talk to someone that could help with the problem.

Nice Addition to the Garmin Line

I've been wanting a blood pressure monitor that interfaces to the Garmin Connect app, and now I have one. It works very well, and readings are within a couple of points of readings from the latest Omron I purchased. Very convenient to have it automatically post in Garmin connect. Easy to connect, fast readings, and easy to use.

Not accurate in the least

If I could give "0" stars, I would. The device read 20-25 mmHg systolic and 10-15 diastolic higher than a calibrated OMRON 7-Series Upper Arm Cuff and a 7-Series Wrist Monitor. Brought GARMIN Index BPM to my HCP, and the readings were consistently higher than the manual readings. My BP fluctuates throughout the day, based upon, but not limited to, the morning surge. 104-64 to 128-78 is my typical daily range. Garmin Index BMP recorded readings in Stage 1 and Stage 2 hypertension ranges consistently. My Garmin Connect app is connected to my Apple Health app, which is connected to other apps. Inaccurate recording and reporting of BP in health databases could result in the rejection of life-insurance or the designation of a preexisting medical condition to payers and providers. Not a risk anyone should be willing to take. legally, Garmin protects itself with "disclaimers". Those disclaimers protect Garmin and not the user of Garmin Medical Devices. Customer service was abysmal, not unlike customer service from so many companies today. They couldn't care less if they lose you as a customer. Love my Venu 2 Plus fitness tracker and the Index S2 scale. But will not repurchase the Index BPM until they fix the design flaws resulting in inaccurate readings.

So far it reads exceedingly high

Have taken my BP many times over the past 2 weeks and it is consistently high, like really high. According to it I am constantly having a stroke. I went and compared it to the one at the doctors office and my BP was perfect 121/82. Took my BP with this immediately afterwards (while in the doctors office) and it read 190/145.

It works great

The BP monitor itself works great. It's a nice size. Cuff fits both me and my husbands arm. I would have given five stars but we are still trying to figure out how to add a second user without it taking away the first user. We have the Garmin smart scale and that was really easy to add.
