Overall, I am pleased with what this device offers

I received as a gift for Christmas and I was very excited to use it. It's easy to use and the data screens in Garmin Connect are easy to understand. However, there are 2 suggestions for improvement. 1) I do feel that sometimes the readings are over the top high- I take the readings immediately after I wake up in the mornings. There are definitely some outliers. When reaching this there are others that feel the same. Just something to look into. 2) I am 48 and my reading this AM was 127/79 which is "elevated" by AHA standards. However, if you go to a doctor's office, they will not challenge this number. I mention this because there is a fine line between Elevated and Stage 1 and also an area for concern. I don't know how to do it, but if an individual has constant elevated readings, that could cause anxiety when in reality if they went to their physicians, they would be ecstatic with these numbers. Overall a great product and I am pleased to add this to my Garmin Ecosystem.

Best BPM Around!!!

I have tried all kinds of BPMs and all had issues. It got to the point that I stopped regularly checking my blood pressure...until now! Garmin did an excellent job (no surprise there) in the design and function. The controls are simple and being able to add multiple users expands the usability. The certification provides an added bonus that other devices lack. Throw in that it connects to Garmin Connect and can be synced to other apps makes it the top of the heap. Highly recommended!!!

Great Device But Setup Issue

Set up the Index BPM device for myself, works great! Went to add Index BPM device for a secondary user ... the manual says: 1) From the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone, follow the on-screen instructions to invite secondary users. 2) From the secondary user's smartphone, accept the email invitation, and follow the on-screen instructions. So I did those things. Then on the secondary user's phone's Garmin Connect app, I go to the Garmin Devices page, at the top of the page it lists the Index BPM, but at the bottom of the page it has a section that says "Registered to Garmin Connect" along with an entry for the Index BPM along with an enabled push button to "Add Device" ... clicked on that which led to trying to Bluetooth connect the Index BPM to the secondary user's phone. After about 6 failed attempts to Bluetooth Pair the Index BPM to that phone, I call Garmin Support ... turns out you should NOT try to "Add Device" (for the Index BPM) via the Garmin Connect app on the secondary phone. The Bluetooth connection is just for the primary user to configure the device. Turns out, data from the Index BMP is uploaded to Garmin Connect via WiFi. So don't be fooled by the enabled "Add Device" button on the secondary user's Garmin Connect app, just accept the Invite and leave that button alone.

Compact, portable

I bought this a few weeks ago. It does a good job taking the blood pressure. However, i find the communication to connect on my cell phone to be a bit iffy. I have had to intervene and poke at the control buttons to make sure it was going to transfer the data. Perhaps i don't understand the not very clear instructions.

Long time Garmin User here.

I go back to the IQue 3600! Remember that one? It was awesome. Seeing the evolution of this company has been amazing. So far so good with the blood pressure monitor. It is a great addition to Garmin's health ecosystem with garmin connect! Once again thank you!

Pretty Good Overall

Blood pressure cuff is difficult to put on and get it positioned just right. We have other BP devices that are much easier to put on. Instructions say that unit is meant only for people 18 to 75 years of age! Seems to me that there are a lot of people left out that should be monitoring their BP. Unit syncs to Garmin account just fine and does everything else as claimed.

Very convinient blood pressure monitor

The Index is records all your readings to your Garmin app making it easy to see your past history quickly. Setup was fast but you do have to get your Garmin app set up first before you can set up the Index. Once that is done though, you can start taking readings immediately. The only problem I have with the Index is that the light weight actually works against it when securing it around my arm. It does not have a good way to brace so that the Index is facing upwards. But I would not want to make the Index heavier, so it is fine the way it is.

Convenience

I really like the convenience of the space to not have to manually. Enter work pressure and heart rate. This may seem like a small thing, but it has made it look easier for me to track and sync up with my phone and therefore communicate with my physician how my blood pressure control medication‘s are working.

Works well, good data viz.

Works exactly as described -- especially appreciate the high quality data visualization in Garmin Connect. I think there will be a lot of value in having this as historic data for myself. The biggest feature I would add is the ability to measure body temp and include that as well -- that would capture all of the major vitals in the Garmin ecosystem (blood oxygen, pulse, blood pressure, temperature).
