Easy to use and love that it syncs to Garmin

Overall pleased. Easy to use, syncs up with Garmin Connect so I can track longer term trends vs. one-off measurements. You can add up to 10 additional people by inviting them through Garmin Connect app, great for family. It seems to be accurate, I've compared against another blood pressure monitor and it seemed consistent with it.

Compact, portable

I bought this a few weeks ago. It does a good job taking the blood pressure. However, i find the communication to connect on my cell phone to be a bit iffy. I have had to intervene and poke at the control buttons to make sure it was going to transfer the data. Perhaps i don't understand the not very clear instructions.

Junk

Right out of the box, the unit had issues pairing with the app and finding our wifi. Control buttons and functions are unclear and the user manual was not much help. Battery compartment design is terrible, access is hidden beneath the cuff and the latch broke after two days so it wouldn't stay closed. All-around failure in every possible way. Returned. I wasn't going to post this review because I generally like my other Garmin products, but Garmin kept spamming me asking me for a review. Careful what you wish for.

Decent little BP machine with some issues...

The good... easy to use for the most part, nice and portable and part of the Garmin ecosystem... The bad... pain in the *** to get the cuff on correctly and tighten it, Garmin should take a cue from Omron's portable travel cuff, its amazing, also the device disconnects from WIFI on its own quite often so it doesnt sync like it should...

A nice compliment to Garmin fitness

One of the missing components to the Connect daily summery was blood pressure. As someone on medications for hypertension, the device allowed me to monitor BP and see this along with other data in one app. The device itself is small enough that it's easily portable and easy to use. Highly recommended.

Convenient

I've been using it for about a month now. I like that it's convenient and ties into Garmin connect. The reporting features are great too. It does tend to read high when you put it up against the doctor's cuff. In my case, 10-20 points average. The nurse tried to help me troubleshoot, but the medical cuffs have markings on them for positioning over the artery and sizing. This cuff doesn't. I marked it average since it seems to be very consistent in it's readings, so it's at least useful for tracking trends if you're worried about blood pressure.

BP works but can't get it to work with Garmin App

I really like the BP cuff, both its fit and ease of operation. I can't say the same about getting the device to connect to the Garmin Connect app. I spent way too much time trying every solution I could find. I'm unhappy and am returning the device

Good product but room for improvements

My bottom line up front: With a true, one size fits all and user replaceable cuff, I would have given the Garmin Index BPM 5 stars and would definitely buy it again. Easy to setup and pretty intuitive to use once you get to know the three buttons and their functions. I really enjoy the features and compactness the Garmin Index BPM provides. The seamless connection with Garmin Connect through Wi-Fi is a great feature and I no longer have to manually transfer my readings. Though, I feel Garmin missed the mark with the cuff. While the cuff would seem to accommodate various upper arm sizes, in my experience, the three bands of Velcro interfere with getting a consistent fit over the width of the cuff. I would have preferred one continuous cuff instead of the three sectioned one that is provided. Also, I currently own and have owned many Garmin devices and am 100% confident that the electronics will outlast the cuff material and would have liked to see it employ a user replaceable cuff.

Great product, no wires & easy to use

I really love the product, I just keep it by my bedside and use it nightly so I don't forget. It also uploads to my Garmin connect so I can show my doctor when I visit. The only thing I wish they would have done better was make the inside of the cuff a little less smooth so it does not slip when you try to tighten it. When I try to tighten the cuff, it slips, and I have to hold it and because it is on my arm, so a little difficult to do.

Excellent Device

I've had the Garmin BPM Smart Blood Pressure Monitor for several weeks, and I love how easy and straight forward it is. It was relatively easy to configure and begin gathering data. The cuff fits well enough that I seldom have to adjust it, and just slip my arm in to take a reading. The display is simple and easy to read. The buttons are obvious and easy manipulate. I continue to be amazed at how variable blood pressure can be and I've experimented with different times of the day, with/without coffee, before/after exercise. The device seems to work well with or without wearing shirt sleeves. The classifications of BP annoy me as 120/80 is now classified as 'Elevated' but I suppose that critic should be reserved for the vaunted medical industry. All in all I'd buy it again, and I understand the premium I'm paying to have my data integrated with my watch.
