Garmin Index

Convenient and portable

After using this Garmin Index for about a month, I can say I'm happy with the purchase. It helps me communicate with my doctor when relaying important health issues when used with the Garmin connect app. 1 deducted 1 star because it can be cumbersome to adjust at times to get a proper fit. Other than that, no complaints.

Excellent BPM

I have using this BPM for more than a month now. It's great and super easy to setup and connect to both wifi and Garmin Connect. It is great to be able to view all my health stats in one place. I purchased the BPM and scale at the same time which makes for seamless monitoring of my health stats. I would have given 5 stars except I have smaller arms and the blood pressure cuff doesn't easily fit so it is a bit cumbersome to adjust on my arm to get a reading. Otherwise I am totally satisfied with my purchase and would recommend to others..

Not user friendly buttons

I had troubles with the 3 buttons. 1. The icons are not readable, 2. They're not tactile friendly, you dont get good feedback if you've enabled it or not, so you may press again after it was already pushed. 3. The sequence of the buttons is not intuitive to enable either the single or x3 measurements. I thought the unit was defective, so I ordered another one. I basically get the same experience. However, I really like the way it interacts with the Garmin Connect app so I'm just trying to get better at using it.

The best BP monitor I have ever used!

I use the Index BPM every morning. Like all of the Garmin products I use, and I use quite a few, it is faultless. It connects with my WiFi and the Garmin software on my iPhone. The Garmin Connect Mobile app integrates the data with everything else in the system and gives me an excellent perspective on my current health. I have taken it to my doctor's office and checked its accuracy against his unit. It is very accurate. it is easy to use. The batteries last for a good deal of time, and when they are changed it does not affect the settings, so with a new batteries it is ready to start right up. It is expensive compared to other monitors but worth the price.

Worth every penny

If you're concerned with your BP or you doctor wants you to keep track is makes it super easy. The 3x reading is a really nice feature to normalize and irregular readings. If you access the Garmin Connect website you can look at your results or print a report to bring to your doctor. See photos.

Accuracy

I have another home model BP machine and I use both the Garmin index and the other. They have quite different numbers and I don't know which is more accurate. The other is a top model and brand. I love the portability of the index and I love Garmin products. A loyal customer for a long time but I am concerned about the readings and the accuracy. I hope I'm wrong.

Excellent device and easy to use

My wife and I have been making an attempt to gather the necessary metrics to assess our health for quite a while. It's not necessarily that I don't already have a blood pressure cuff, because I do. It comes into the realm of recording the data and having in a place where it is integrated with the rest of my health data. I bought this device because it integrates into the Garmin software for my phone. This is the same software that I use for my watch where it gathers various metrics on my health... sleep, movement and nearly everything else under the sun. I love it! Integration is absolutely key and very important to me.

Difficult to use

I found the Index BPM difficult to use. The adjustable cuff is very stiff causing it to fit tightly at the top of the arm, but very loosely as the arm tapers down. I don't think you can get a reliable measurement with that fit. I tried it multiple days, but in the end returned it.

Garmin BP Monitor

My one suggestion would be that the blood pressure monitor could be taken at your wrist instead of your arm... The cup monitors that the hospitals use are very accurate and easier to use. I bought a separate Garmin case for my device but it sure doesn't fit very well.

Poor connection to Garmin App and varied readings

I bought the Garmin Index to track my blood pressure from home. After a month of usage I'm less than pleased with my purchase. The reading vary wildly by 30 points and the device has only successfully synched with my Garmin App one time. I have been a Garmin enthusiast for years and I am very disappointed with the usefulness of the Index.
