Works as expected

I purchased this to replace a previous Blood Pressure monitor that was no longer working. I am happy with its functionality and the fact that it is independent from other devices for recording purposes and is syncing directly with available Wi-Fi. I am an avid user of Garmin products since I became a pilot many years ago now. I am glad to add this to my list of Garmin products and excited to bring this into my Garmin Connect application so my health stats are in one place. Someday when my current Wi-Fi body composition scale fails, I plan to bring that into the Garmin fold, also.

Disappointing experience -- was hoping for more

1) within 5 minutes of pulling the battery tab, I lost all power -- this needed to be remedied before the bluetooth connection could be established -- but the instructions that came in the box contained no instructions on changing the batteries. 2 ) Initially it would not connect to my WiFi. This held me up for 15 or 20 minutes -- got it on the 7th retry with the same data -- apparently it incorrectly sniffed out the initial WiFis incorrectly but got it right once I figured out how to make if resniff them using the PDF user manual that is offered on-line. 3) I find the downloaded app quite confusing as I believe it tries to serve too many devices. For example, the home tab kept telling me there were no recordings to display even after I had taken three readings ... then I went to the More tab, selected Health Stats, then chose Blood Pressure before I could then see the three readings. So, for the BP Index user, the relevant data is somewhat buried.

INDEX BPM is Great

The index BPM is a great investment for anyone who wants or needs a smart device to keep up with their blood pressure. It is co pact and easy to set up. I have a Garmin watch too so I get all of my health and activity stats synced from both devices to my app which I can easily show to my doctors. Since it is smart, it is more costly than non-smart BPM devices but I find the investment well worth the gain. My ROI is great!

Good, not great

Excellent connectivity to my garmin app, easy to use and durable. Inconsistent in readings. Must take 3-5 readings to get an average. Needs more instruction on best use practices. Kind of pricey for what you get. Would not buy again or recommend. I only bought it to sync with my garmin app products. Worth about half of cost.

Ease of use

I bought this a few weeks ago but wish I had it years ago for the simple fact of how all the measurements automatically store in my connect app, can be downloaded and sent to doctors if needed. A valuable tool to help pool all of your health statistics together.

Useful Tool

The averaging function and Bluetooth connectivity make for a very convenient way to track blood pressure readings. A pleasant surprise is that once the cuff is fitted, there is no need to rewrap it. Just slide the arm in and press the command buttons. A well considered design feature.

Does the two things I wanted it to do

I am a physician who has used a manual blood pressure cuff for 30+ years. I am also a cyclist fully enmeshed in the Garmin ecosystem. This device gives blood pressure readings in line with previous measurements while automatically writing those results to Garmin Connect. Although pricey, those were the two items that were important to me, and this device meets those demands. Fixing the cuff size is a little awkward initially, but once set it is very easy to slip on and off.

Accurate, simple to use

Very simple to set up and use. Took some trial and error to put the monitor my myself with one hand. Blood pressure readings seem consistent with readings from doctor office visits. Best part is having blood pressure stats on Garmin Connect. I would recommend this monitor based on that feature alone. It also folds up to nice, compact size. I just wish Garmin sold a case that fit the monitor and instructions perfectly besides just using the box it was packed in.

Not user friendly buttons

I had troubles with the 3 buttons. 1. The icons are not readable, 2. They're not tactile friendly, you dont get good feedback if you've enabled it or not, so you may press again after it was already pushed. 3. The sequence of the buttons is not intuitive to enable either the single or x3 measurements. I thought the unit was defective, so I ordered another one. I basically get the same experience. However, I really like the way it interacts with the Garmin Connect app so I'm just trying to get better at using it.

Very good, not great

Nice, stars rice and most of all well-connected and accurate. The unit itself has tiny buttons, making it challenging to use. I wish the app mapped the average of multiple readings rather than all of them. It is common for me to get one or two higher readings before I settle into normal or even low readings
