Not impressed

I bought this for my husband and he was really excited about it. When it arrived it was difficult to connect to our watches ( and we are pretty savvy). Then we quickly realized it was wildly inaccurate. We were very disappointed and we mailed it back

Accuracy

I have another home model BP machine and I use both the Garmin index and the other. They have quite different numbers and I don't know which is more accurate. The other is a top model and brand. I love the portability of the index and I love Garmin products. A loyal customer for a long time but I am concerned about the readings and the accuracy. I hope I'm wrong.

Accurate simple seamless integration

Accuracy and consistency is always a concern when getting a blood pressure monitor, the Garmin Index BP monitor does both very well while seamlessly integrating with Garmin Connect. The accuracy and consistency is very important for tracking trends. Thank you for another great product!

Added Health Tracking Benefit

I have been a Garmin user for several years now. I wasn't sure about this device at first and did comparisons with another monitor to see how close they were to each other. The readings were consistent. Since I have renewed my efforts to get into better shape and healthier along the way, the Index BPM monitor keeps he on track and honest. Since it ports the information directly into Garmin Connect, I can't really "cheat". Next check up with the doctor will have additional information to share.

Excellent connectivity, mine reads roughly 20 points too high

I purchased this to help me track my blood pressure since I am already part of the Garmin ecosystem. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and started taking blood pressure medication and based on my Garmin, the medication was not working properly. After roughly a month, I had a doctors appointment coming up so I brought my Garmin to the appointment. We did multiple blood pressure tests, using a manual cuff and the garment and in roughly 5 attempts with each device the Garmin averaged about 20 points higher on both diastolic and systolic readings. Be sending it back for a warranty exchange, I will update this review when possible ********** Update based on second unit sent. Upgraded to 4 stars. I got a second unit back from Garmin and it is much better. I'll update again once compared with the reading the doctors office gets.

Questionable Accuracy

Nice unit that was easy to operate and sync with Connect. However, my readings were high. So much so that I compared it with another meter that I had used previously. The reading from the previous monitor were 15-20mm/hg lower consistently. The considerable amount of variation between the two lead me to do some research. I found that others online expressed a similar concern that the Garmin BPM was higher. They also used other meters to compare their results. Garmin you may want to look into this. Meters a fraction of the cost are provided more accurate results.

Very mediocre, especially for the price.

User interface is very bland, and not especially fast. Two things I like are that the cuff rolls up tight so it takes up less space, and I like that it syncs in the same app as my other Garmin devices. But at more than 3x the cost of my 3 year old Omron cuff (with the same or better features), I'm very disappointed with the Garmin cuff ...

Good overall for use.

This replaced another brand that went out of business. It fits and works. The controls for taking a reading are easy to understand and use. Pairing it with an existing Garmin Connect was a significant challenge, this seems to be due to the difference between Bluetooth for setup and Wi-Fi for syncing. This is also not adequately documented and may present an obstacle for new users. The secondary reason for purchase was it's advertised ability to support multiple users, but this configuration, like many other of my Garmin products (and I have several), seems to be that one elusive and impossible feature to configure. The documentation is thin on configuration, almost non-existent, for example it purports to be able to take multiple readings in one session and average the result, and I've not been able to locate or extract any documentation on how to enable this feature. Overall it does what it says, multi-user functionality is a disappointing failure, multi-reading and averaging is also unavailable. I had expected that this would round out a collection of Garmin gadgets but considering the cost of the unit and lack of documentation, other options should be considered before choosing this device. Garmin should focus on documentation, setup and function configuration.

Easy and integrated

I am an open heart surgery survivor. Having my valve replaced and my ascending Aortic aneurysm repaired, knowing and tracking my blood pressure is important and part of my routine. The Garmin Index has proven to be an easy way to accurately take and track my BP, which in turn makes things easy when sharing data with my wife or sharing with the doctor.

Best BP monitor

This BRM is the best I've used. Easy and seamless setup, works fantastic, and integrates seamlessly to the Garmin Connect ecosystem. Garmin has really got it together, and this product is another winner! I use Garmin for all electronics on my boat, golf, and health and everything works beautifully with each other. Some other systems have some neat features, but when you put it all together, you really can't beat the Garmin ecosystem!
