I have been eyeing the Skylight calendar for quite some time. After a family scheduling snafoo over the weekend, I bought two to get our family life in order. I am a full time working mom with 3 kids under the age of 6 and married to a physician. As the default parent, I was in need of something to alleviate the pressure of being the only person in the family who knew what was in the schedule. This device is mostly perfect- it integrates different calendars seamlessly, the magic import is awesome, and the ability for non family members (e.g. nanny) to add items to the schedule is elite. One issue with the device is that you cannot have two calendars displaying the same exact information without considerable effort. As a working mom, I need one calendar in my office and one at home that display the same information. At the moment, this is not possible. Secondly, I work on a university campus, and so I cannot log into wifi because it is a user/pw signin. I am still very happy with the device and am hopeful the team will continue to update to improve its usability.

The skylight calendar has been a lifesaver for our family that’s always on the go! My husband is even utilizing all the features! If you have a busy life of community and school events, this calendar will keep you well organized and the color coded categories are also helpful. This is so much more than just a digital calendar!

We love the calendar and screensaver. I wish it was easier to edit the events once added. Also would love to have a reminder pop up on my phone of the events happening about 30 min prior to the event. Also would love to be able to print the calendar for my kids that don’t have phones yet. Very good easy to add events. Love the shopping list and the fact that the kids can add to it.

I find the subscription plan for being able to add photos to my digital frame that is a calendar very hard to swallow. I’m being charged repeatedly for core functionality that is inherent with any other digital frame. Oh but wait you can add a tag line. Not worth it. I’d like to at least be able to organize the photos within my calendar into folders so I could play certain groups of content at certain times. Maybe a holiday folder to play during November December. Or by family member or friend group so I can play that sunset while those people are visiting? If I’m paying for a service I expect that service to provide more capability over time.

I bought 2 of them as gifts for my children and families and their busy schedules. They both have set theirs up and I hope enjoying them this week. Even the children were excited to see the chore charts and their personal schedules in a color they picked.

The calendar subscriptions are clunky if you use iCal. Probably works better with google calendar. The biggest gripe I have is that it doesn’t display the date. It displays the month fully spelled out and the year. ie “September 2023”. So there’s definitely room for the full date and maybe even day of week. If you want to know the date you have to click into the calendar and it is going to be written in much smaller font and it’s in a different spot depending on what screen you choose(weekly daily or monthly view). I find myself constantly glancing over looking at the top bar for the time and date. In my opinion, that top bar should always display the date and time no matter what screen you’re on it should just consistently be there. Seems like a small thing but when you buy a dedicated display and it only ever tells you the month and year, it feels like kind of a missed opportunity. I probably already know what month and year I’m in 😂.

I love the frame feature, but think it is crazy that I have to pay additional money every single year to keep it as a phot frame, especially with as much as the product costs to begin with. I would love to keep this feature, but with what I spent on the frame I'm not sure I can afford to keep it that way.

Game Changer! No more printing calendars and sticking on the fridge. My wife is on this thing every day. My 7-year-old loves to complete her tasks on it and I LOVE the grocery list function. Now I can finally go shopping without a paper list in my hand and I never forget to buy anything! We love it!

This calendar has been a great addition to managing our family chores! The kids love having something to physically check off, and I love how I don't have to nag them! I do wish I could make some based on time throughout the day--as in some in the morning/some in the evening--maybe a future update could include this?

I love that my high school kids can sync their calendars and it shows up on here for all of us to see. The younger kids have their chores listed and they enjoy marking them off when they are done. I love that they are color coded. We are working to see if the meal plan is beneficial to us. The grocery list is nice but I have been using Alexa and enjoy the hands free use of that to add to my list.
