Good and frustrating

Features are great. BEWARE the watch face scam - if you load the face app you can never return to the default settings without Paying MORE. Instructions mentioned importing historical data from vivo active4 but at 6 weeks of wearing it still isn’t reading my normal ( rx boosted ) heart rate and so over estimating stress based solely on HR. Also this is a Big watch. A little tough on people with small wrists. I wish there were natural fiber / breathable band options - any dampness under the default gives me a red rash. I like the features but I wish it was smaller and used my history

Mostly Pluses with a few Minuses

There are a lot of good features on the Vivoactive 5, including the night mode with less activity that can disturb sleep, and the longer battery life. The big disappointment I have is it doesn't seem to track floors, which previous vivoactives do. I had switched from my Venu Squared back to the Vivoactive, hoping to regain that feature, as I wanted to do the step climbing challenges. My search engine had indicated the feature was on this watch, but it doesn't appear to be the case. Other than that, it seems to track my other activities, like swimming, walking, and biking very well. I also like how it talks through my phone when I hit lap milestones with my walks.

Overweight Non-Influencer Review :)

Where do I begin?? I bought this watch on a whim during Black Friday shopping. I had been on the fence about ditching my AppleWatch, the common things of the battery life is trash and I felt that during some of my workouts it just was not keeping up, so I figured what perfect day then Black Friday and being on sale to pull the trigger to join the Garmin Fam. LET ME TELL YOU!!!! Just do it... seriously you may question your life when you go to answer a phone call and it doesn't come through the watch, or to answer a text and you need to have your phone but that will be your REALITY check that you need to do less people pleasing and being available at every beckon call/text. As for the fitness side of things its very similar to the AppleWatch so it's not a whole lot to get use too. I do feel that it is more accurate for the work outs in a way. THE SLEEP TRACKER!!! I was never able to put the AppleWatch to that test because it would always be on 10% or dead by the time that it came to sleepy time so I took it off to charge it while I slept and never got to experience any of the capabilites in that sense, but the Garmin!! I feel like I could say this thing never dies (on a daily basis) lol. I can go 6 days without charging. I charged it Wednesday 12/11/24 and today is 12/13/24 and I still have 84% battery life left. I utilize the sleep tracker to its full extent!! I feel like I could literally write a book about the watch but I'll spare you with.... GO BUY THE WACTH!!!!

Great for tracking all activities

After several years of wearing Apple watches I made the switch to Garmin. I was having issues with my Apple watch battery, so decided to try Garmin. I really like all of the activity features except that it doesn't track the kick board portion of my 2K swims which is frustrating. I also don't love that I can't see the time on the watch face while I'm working out. Other than that, I'm loving my Garmin.

Has all of the essentials.

I originally had the Vivoactive 3, which I liked. I use it primarily to sync with my outdoor and indoor bike riding to include strength training and yoga. Oddly, I like the many selections for the actual face of the watch. I also like that it syncs with my IPhone and Garmin Connecs. I preferred to go with Fenix series, but they were too pricey. In fact, I waited for this one to go on sale. Overall, a solid watch for what I need.

Garmin girl

I have been a Fitbit girl since 2017. Well, I broke up with Fitbit at the end of November. After, actually, I will spare you the dirty details. Anyway, I am now a Garmin girl! I received my Garmin on January 1st, and I love my vivoactive 5! It is comfortable, and I love all the features. My only complaint is I have to connect to fitness pal to log my food, and I don't get all the features there unless I pay for premium. It’s OK. I don't mind typing my food in. Thank you for making a great watch!

Definitely an upgrade

I received this as a Mother’s Day gift since I am super active and my Apple Watch was dying before the end of the day. I’m able to go almost a full week on one full battery charge. So I’m able to track my sleep and daily activity at ease. I love the breakdown information garmin gives about my workouts. It’s definitely worth every penny.

Good experience!

I really like this smart watch. It is very functional and has good build quality. I wear it all day long, and the battery does not need to be charged for several days. I also like the ability to connect to a smart phone using the Garmin app. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a versatile smart watch that can be used for a wide variety of purposes.

Should have purchased Garmin years ago!

I have had practically every fitness watch on the market-FitBit, Polar, Galaxy, etc. My Polar cracked so I compared many brands. The Vivoactive 5 checked all the boxes so I pulled the trigger. I am SO happy I did. The features are all there and it was very easy to get comfortable with how it works. Bonus for the variety of bands and watch faces.

Great features and battery life for the money

I've previously owned Fit Bit charge units and this watch absolutely puts them to shame. The features and quality are superior and the battery life is excellent. Watch face selection is broad but would be nice if more customization was possible to add the metrics I want to the face but the standard options supply most of what I want. Using the watch for HIIT workouts is quite good, running splits and fps features are good. I typically lift weights, do circuits and HIIT in addition to hikes and walks for steady state cardio. The weight function is burdensome so I just use the cardio tracker while I lift to track calorie burn and heart rate. Compared to my FitBits this watch has converted me since the software updates dont shorten life, and the platform seems more robust. Just be careful not to impact the face, I haven't had problems with it but I'm always a bit scared I'm going to scratch it.
