Unbelievable Watch

I have had the Vivoactive 5, now for 8 months. The features are outstanding. The amount of information that is displayed on the face is incredible. Being able to check my oxygen level has gotten enabled me of get rid of my handheld unit. Having A-Fib, the ability to watch my pulse rate keeps me from over doing it and know when to rest. I could go on and on about the features but could not do the unit justice. After doing my research, Garmin was the one to buy. The only feature that I wished this unit had would be a blood glucose monitor. I wish there was some way to download an Sofware update. So far, the only problem is the charging port on the back of the unit. The charging port sometimes does to make good contact with the charging plug. This is noted on the display with shows when the unit is charging. I have ordered a new charging cord; in the hope it is the charging plug and not the watch. The unit has to have a rubber plug to cover the watch charging port, I believe Garmin should have included that plug with the unit. Of course, all the extras can be purchase online. All said and done, the Vivoactive 5 is well worth the purchase price.

Great product

The Viviactive 5 is a great replacement device for my Apple Watch. I have had 2 Apple Watches and was a little hesitant to switch but so far I am happy with the product. Although the fitness features are a little off on some things I am happy with the change.

LOVE this watch!

I purchased this watch for myself and my wife a few weeks ago and we absolutely LOVE it! We both had Apple Watches for years and they don’t come close to the capabilities of this watch in metrics and battery life in particular. I also really enjoy the amount of options to customize data and workout or activity options. The watch also has a swimming mode and can be worn in the shower. This watch is great for anyone who is active or wants to be motivated to become more active. You get a lot of value for the price. Highly recommend!

Great running watch with health features

I bought this a month ago. I love the traditional Garmin features for running. The battery life is fabulous. The health tracking features are ok. The user interface and overview feel clunky compared to other (ring) health trackers. Some of the health information is a little hard to interpret. I like the integration with the calendar and training plans. I have not used messenger or music. I also haven’t added any widgets. Truthfully, it is so customizable that it is overwhelming. I would like to see more video guides on setting up the watch for specific functions. Overall, it’s a great running watch with some interesting additional features.

Oustanding Health and Excercise Tracker

This does everything I need to track running and other types of workouts, as well as tracking overall health/activity. Battery life is pretty good, but not the 11 days claimed. I get 5-6 days out of a charge.Worth the price, and a great option if you don't need all the crap the Apple Watch has.

Overall a great watch, too many features!

Bought about a month ago. It works great. There is almost too many features. I came from a Fitbit user for years so learning how to navigate the watch has been part of the fun. It’s crazy how some workouts it automatically knows what movements I’m doing and what muscle groups I am working. I like the weight and size. I have small wrists and it fits great for me. Only thing I would say is I did my research seeing if the screen was scratch resistant or if I needed a screen protector. I found not to use a screen protector. But already within a month there is some minor scratching. It’s kind of driving me nuts but you can only see it in certain lighting. Over all happy with my purchase. Just wish the screen would always look as good as new.

Great Upgrade from VivoActive 3

I wanted a basic watch & was very happy with the VivoActive 3. It was time to update it & the 5 is a great option. Affordable with much better features than what I had. The band is very soft, comfortable & fits my wrist very well. The screen is clear & easy to read. Overall I feel this is a great entry/mid level watch for those who are looking for something that has a fair amount of functionality & is affordable.

For it being 2024…

Absolutely love the watch. I am not too fond of the apps. The watch is comfy durable and a great choice for a first time smart watch owner. Can’t wait to dive further into it. 5 stars on the watch all around. Battery life is amazing. Being able to cancel calls incoming at my wrist … LOVE.

Glitchy

I bought this watch 2 months ago. It often stops counting steps, turns off after charging and stays off for several minutes, vibrates randomly with no notification, etc. I loved my Vivoactive 4s (which got damaged) and wish I had not “upgraded” to a 4.

I wish the blue tooth connection was longer

I really like the Garmin Vivoactive 5. I switched from the apple watch because I prefer a round face. It does everything that I wanted in a smartwatch. I can't respond to a text or answer a call, but those things are not a deal breaker for me. I only wish the blue tooth connection reached farther. It says 10 meters....it is more like 10 feet. That is somewhat annoying. The garmin is significantly cheaper than the apple watch, too.

A loss of connection is usually due to walking away from your phone and beyond Bluetooth range which is approximately 30 feet (10 meters). The effective range is reduced when the signal has to pass through certain objects. Materials like glass, wood, metal, concrete or water can alter the signal strength of a Bluetooth connection. Interference from other wireless signals such as other Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi, or devices running on the 2.4GHz frequency can also affect range. Your watch should automatically establish a connection when you're back near your phone and within Bluetooth range. If you have Connected Alerts enabled, you can disable them by holding the bottom-right button and selecting Settings > System > Connectivity > Phone > Connected Alerts. (KS)
